00:00She-Ra has a foe and I think the foe has fleas. Here's a look at Mattel Mass Universe
00:05Origins Grizzlor Harry henchmen of the evil Horde.
00:21He's highly articulated and comes with a crossbow for poses to display his brute
00:26strength. Fans will love the savage details like his Horde chest plate and
00:29lighter fur just like his vintage version. Offered for the first time as a
00:33standalone figure in the Origins line, Grizzlor is the perfect addition to your
00:37Mass Universe collection. First comes the battle then comes the bath. Before we
00:41get a closer look at the Mass Universe Origins Grizzlor let's take the tape
00:43measure and see how tall the figure stands. A little bit of an older figure
00:46yeah he was released September 10, 2022 so he's already two years old. Finally
00:50got my hands on this guy when I went to a local toy show. The dealer had marked
00:54him for $80. I was able to talk him down though by $20. So $60 I finally have
00:58another addition to my Horde collection. So we are looking at this guy a little
01:02bit later than others. Grizzlor if you include all the fur on the top of his
01:05head he's gonna be about six and a half inches. If you go really technically to
01:09his head he's more close to being about five and a half inches in height and
01:12that translates to a figure that's 15 centimeters tall. As for the Horde I have
01:16right now here's what the figure looks like first with the leader Hordak. I'm
01:19actually using the head sculpt that came included with Buzzsaw Hordak because I
01:22think it's the coolest one we've gotten for Hordak. So I'm using that one
01:24actually with the defaulted body. Here's also what he looks like with Mantenna.
01:27Also over here here's what he looks like with Leech and we can also bring in as
01:32well a Horde Trooper and hey considering as well I mean they're villains for
01:35She-Ra here's what they also look like with She-Ra. I'm just kind of leaving the
01:38tiara off right now. Most of the time when I usually have She-Ra displayed it's
01:41not though with the tiara. I kind of just wanted to have her a little bit more
01:43close to the cartoon and also as well I just thought like the mask was a little
01:46bit too big but yeah the Horde's filling out rather nicely. Finally nice though to
01:50finally have Gryzlor as part of that collection. Because Mattel spent so much
01:54more for the fur for Gryzlor they saved a little bit more with the accessories
01:57that he includes. Things you've seen with him are things you've seen before. Before
02:01we actually look at those things let's look at the thing over here. Gryzlor
02:03comes included with the minicomic entitled The Trial of Gryzlor. It's the
02:07only time that we've gotten this minicomic and the thing that's cool
02:09about that is in the inside of the comic it advertised the Fright Zone which we
02:13still have not gotten as a playset released for Origins. I hope we at some
02:17point we are gonna be getting that but you can see though that Gryzlor has
02:19front-and-center spotlight here within the minicomic. I mean it's only again
02:23like five or six pages worth but again nice little artwork inside the comic. I'm
02:27gonna make sure that usually though when we look at Master Universe Origins this
02:31comic makes several appearances but with The Trial of Gryzlor it's the only time
02:35we're gonna get this so I'm gonna handle it with care. Right over there. The figure
02:39like I said does come included with a lot of reused parts. First of all he
02:42comes included with a double bladed axe which I think was released with a deluxe
02:46version of Ram Man. You can let me know if that's not correct down below. Of
02:49course this would have been the connector point that would have had the
02:51other end of this would have snapped together. This is one of the included
02:54weapons. One of the other things that he has is things we've seen lots of times
02:58and that would be the Horde crossbow. I have this version in the green. I
03:02have this version in white. I also have it in gray and if I can hold on to
03:06everything I also have it in red. So pick your colors to which crossbow you'd like
03:10to use. Obviously for Gryzlor he's gonna be using the green crossbow. If you're
03:14familiar as well as well with these basically what it is is there's a clip
03:17right here and it fits inside this hole. So you take the crossbow and you push it
03:21back and then you take the button on the top and you fire it. I don't know
03:25what exactly it's firing out. Perhaps a fireball but it pops the front out first.
03:30That's pretty cool and of course there's a little clip obviously on the bottom of
03:33that. We can fit that around the arm of Gryzlor because he only has one gripping
03:37hand on his body. It probably makes the most sense to have the crossbow on this
03:41side. We'll take the double-sided axe and we'll put it on the other and now he's
03:45wielding both weapons. He seems to be also using as well the Beastman body so
03:50because of that he's got the monster hand on one side he's got the gripping
03:52hand on the other. I know again this is an older figure but I didn't want to get
03:56around to reviewing this guy. I missed the chance to get this guy the first
03:59time around and just the prices on this have skyrocketed since. Some may
04:03have already said like why did you even open up the packaging for the fact that
04:06this guy is going for the price that he is but again like I was able to mark
04:09this guy down you know for going from $80 to $60. $60 I know is still high but
04:14it's not nearly as high as what he's selling for online. For the face for
04:18Gryzlor it's a fantastic head. I was really disappointed with the Gryzlor
04:21that we got with the Master Universe. Was it the new Eternia line where we
04:24basically got a sculpted headpiece and then we got the furry body. No I mean I
04:28feel for Gryzlor he needs to have fur all the way around so as much as he has
04:32the fur down below here he's got the little tuft of fur there sticking out
04:35the top of his head as well. The thing about the fur though is as you're
04:38looking at there there are a few little areas on mine where you can see the
04:41netting underneath so it basically would have been fed through hair through this
04:45webbing the netting and then basically that would have been attached onto his
04:47head so there are a few little areas that are bare on this guy so I can just
04:51kind of bring back the fur just a little bit. He's starting to bald a little bit
04:54but it happens to all of us. The fur down below as well is basically just a tunic
04:58piece that goes over top of his body. If you were to strip this all down which I
05:01really don't want to, basically what you'd be treated to underneath is
05:04essentially a Beastman body. Of course he does have the crest of the horde on the
05:08front. It's a pretty soft plastic. It's painted well though here in very much
05:12like an orangey kind of ketchup red. Then he's got the of course the straps for his
05:16bandolier that wrap around to the back. They strap here, they strap here and they
05:20also connect in the middle here. It holds well enough together too. I was kind of
05:24assuming that with all the additional foliage that this guy had that that
05:27would put pressure and stress against this and that this would pop
05:31off frequently. One of the reasons also why I don't want to detach this and show
05:34you guys what he looks like underneath is I've always noticed that once you
05:37start to detach these you stretch the plastic and you can never get them back
05:40the way that they were. But again the colors look really good on this
05:44guy. You've got the little band of the horde on the side here. This is actually
05:47also a separate piece from the rest of his body. Of course lots of fur all over
05:51his arms. Of course if you were to see underneath that you'd basically be
05:55seeing the same thing. He's also got it down below here as well. He has
05:58very much like horde boots which to look at that I'm just gonna bring back in
06:02Mantenna. I think it's actually the same boots. Maybe not. It's a little bit
06:06different of a sculpting there for the actual feet but very similar style
06:09boots. Obviously Mantenna also would have had the little little wings there on the
06:12sides but also we already know what faction he works for by the fact he's
06:16got these nicely painted horde boot little symbols there on the fronts of
06:19his boots. Yeah it's a nice-looking figure. I'm not disappointed at all the
06:22fact I opened this guy because I'm one that likes to display my figures loose.
06:26There is a certain collection that I have that always keeps sealed and I put
06:29them on display. I mean I don't never really collect for the idea that these
06:32things would be worth something down the road I'm gonna part ways with them. I'm
06:35always one that likes to enjoy the figures that I had as a kid and while I
06:38maybe not have had Grizzlor as a kid I'm glad to actually have this guy loose on
06:42on display with the rest of my horde figures. Now for the figures articulation.
06:45He's gonna be a little bit more limited here for the obvious reasons but his
06:48head still manages to pull off I wouldn't say like a full ball joint
06:52movement. I mean you can move the head up and down a little bit but his head can't
06:55move any further than what you're seeing right now. Head looks down. Head looks up.
06:58He also moves back and forth as well. As for his arms it would rotate all the way
07:02around. You can also hinge them out as well. Basically the same build of body as
07:06regular Origins figures just again covered in fur. There is no swivel here
07:10in the bicep however though there is a swivel in the forearm. Single hinge in
07:14the elbow. Hands also rotate all the way around and there's a hinge there too.
07:17This would be normally the part where I'd say there's a swivel and swivel is
07:20limited but it's not the case. What they were smartly doing here is actually if
07:24you just kind of fold back everything that's going on here the fur is only
07:28actually representing this part of his torso. They still added fur but the lower
07:32half of his body has it separately on his lower body so like when you are
07:36rotating it there's a swivel cut right here. Initially I was thinking that this
07:40would all be kind of one encased piece and that because of that you wouldn't be
07:43able to rotate it but you can see it is a separate piece of fur from the fur
07:47that's in his torso. Very smart on their part. Legs do split out. You can take the
07:51legs and of course move them forward move them back. No real swivel at the
07:54top of the thigh but there is however a single hinge in the knee. I will say
07:57though I'm a little disappointed though that my Grizzlor not this knee
08:00necessarily but this one here is already loose. There's no way to really know
08:04unless you get this guy home. There's a swivel here also in the boot
08:07articulation up and down and there's also the ankle rocker. Am I happy to have
08:11Grizzlor in my collection? Heck yeah! He is obviously a little bit more of an
08:15expensive figure. Let's just get this guy front and center. He's more of an
08:18expensive figure than perhaps some of the other Horde. Even Hordak himself
08:21can't claim that he's as expensive as what Grizzlor is going for right now but
08:25man yeah I've been really looking forward to getting this guy for a while.
08:28I was kind of really checking around on eBay just to kind of see what the
08:31prices were going for and it was always really the case with with Grizzlor
08:35because it was released like two years ago the prices just continued to go up.
08:38If the distribution and the quantity was a lot higher if this guy was at a
08:43retail level where there was a lot more of these guys available yeah the price
08:46probably would have dropped and been a little bit more reasonable but with the
08:48prices continuing to grow I knew sooner rather than later I had to get my hands
08:52on this guy before the prices went even higher. Sure enough as I went to that
08:55local toy show a couple weeks ago now if I'm looking at the calendar the guy had
08:59had this guy. He actually had Mossman and I still don't even have a Mossman. I
09:03don't know why I even waited that long to get a Mossman but the person
09:07had gone up and basically said oh yeah I'm interested in the Mossman. How much
09:10is that and then the guy had marked it down I think he was selling probably like
09:13for $45. I would have paid $45 for a Mossman but then next to it as I was
09:17kind of walking out the dealer room I happened to notice that he also had a
09:20Grizzlor. I asked him how much he was selling for the Grizzlor he had said $80
09:24I said could you do any bit better than that and he literally just sort of
09:27looked at his wristwatch like this he kind of realized it was getting near the
09:31end of the day and he didn't want to have to lug the stuff back so he
09:34actually said I'd do it for $60. Well I mean I I'm sure I only just left a puff
09:38of cloud behind where my body once was and I basically just dashed grabbed my
09:41wallet and basically paid him right away to get Grizzlor enhanced. A $60 figure
09:45for Origins normally would be way too much to pay for a regular standard
09:49figure but because Grizzlor was as limited as he was I think you can only
09:53buy him online initially from Mattel Creations. Also I didn't mind spending a
09:57little bit more to get a figure that was really missing for a while in my
10:00collection. Now I finally have my collection. He's a well-welcomed addition
10:04to what I currently have for the Horde. Whenever I get around to watching the
10:07Mass Universe film it seems to be on TV more often than not. I always think the
10:12character of Karg reminded me of Grizzlor. I know the fur of his hair was
10:16white and Grizzlor's obviously is brown. The face doesn't really quite look like
10:19Grizzlor but there's always just something about that character that when
10:22I see him I think right away of Grizzlor. Now there was a release obviously of
10:26Grizzlor. I did mention this review. It was I think the New Eternia Masterverse
10:29line. The problem with that though is that Mattel I felt phoned in the head
10:32sculpt. If you're gonna get a character like Grizzlor you can't just put fur in
10:36some areas and leave it off in the others. So sculpting the fur in the head
10:40was always I felt the one thing that kind of took away from that character
10:43and it's certainly one of my least favorite things we've gotten from the
10:46Horde members at least from the New Eternia line. No I think when it comes to
10:50Grizzlor, Grizzlor needs to have fur everywhere and I mean everywhere. The
10:54thing that's cool though about the fur is it doesn't limit his posability at
10:57all. He has it in his head. He has it in his waist. Even though it looks like one
11:01consistent piece of fur that covers over everything it's not till you actually
11:05start moving this guy around that you realize he has just as much posability
11:09as every other Origins release. Unfortunately though with Grizzlor it
11:12goes with the territory that even with like Halloween masks any Halloween mask
11:16that has fur or hair on the back of it you can always usually see the netting
11:21that basically has those hairs and fibers in place. With Grizzlor he's got a
11:25bit of balding on the back of his head but that's not something I'm obviously
11:28gonna be seeing when I'm looking at it from the front of his figure. Now
11:31obviously for $60 I can get behind buying a Grizzlor in a heartbeat. Even at
11:36$80 I had to kind of I had to kind of look at my budget. I'd already spent so
11:41much on other figures I was picking up that day that I had to kind of I had the
11:44money I thought do I need to spend $80 for Grizzlor? It's a character I need.
11:47It's a character I've wanted for a while but then when the guy was able to talk
11:51to me well even when I was I was saying to this guy could you do any bit better
11:54than $80 and he had even offered up. Look I can I can give him away for $60.
11:58That's all I really needed. Twist my rubber arm to add this guy to my
12:02collection. Am I gonna be regretting the fact I took this guy to the packaging?
12:05Not at all. I for one have always been more of a
12:08collector that likes to keep my figures loose and on display. The whole idea of
12:11even the Master Universe is the stuff that looks like the stuff I had as a kid.
12:14I never had Grizzlor as a kid but I certainly had a lot of the other Master
12:18Universe vintage figures. So for me like I always really want to have them on
12:21display. As a kid I never kept things sealed. As an adult I'm not doing that
12:25either. What do you guys think of Grizzlor? Let me know down below in the
12:27comment section. I know again like this guy got released in 2022. Two years
12:30behind on a review of this guy but let me know in the comment section down
12:34below if you guys had picked up Grizzlor and if he's still in card or if
12:38you guys broke him out of his plastic prison and he's on display. If you guys
12:41also did enjoy this video do it a solid throw to like. You guys wanna stick
12:44around for more so? I hope so. Hit that subscribe, turn on that bell but the most
12:49important thing is that you're coming back. As always thanks for watching. See
12:52you guys next time.
