00:00Somehow I have the feeling that Grinch isn't the only one that's been piecing
00:03together ideas for Christmas. Here's your Christmas spot on Brickraft's Dr. Seuss
00:07the Grinch Grinch Wreath Brick Building Set.
00:23I'd like to thank the folks over at Brickraft that did provide this sample.
00:27Some assembly is required. 523 pieces of that that is. It's recommended for ages
00:328 and up. The wreath can be displayed in two ways. Hanging string and display
00:36stand are included. If you'd like to check out more from the folks over at
00:39Brickraft it's easy. You can go to www.brickcraftofficial.com. Get perhaps some
00:44ideas for that brick building fan of the family. On the back of the box as well
00:48you can see two ways of displaying it. It be hung by the chimney with care in
00:52hopes that St. Nicholas won't be knocking it over or you can also mount
00:55it on your mantel. Stand is also included. Of course also included is the
00:59instruction manual required to put this thing together and it's compatible with
01:02other brick building brands. It's 9.76 inches wide. It's then also 9.96 inches
01:10high and it's ready to be displayed. With that being said of course I'm going to
01:14go ahead and open up the box. Some assembly is going to be required by the
01:17person of course behind the camera and when we come back we're getting a closer
01:20look at the Grinch Wreath. About two and a half hours later I finally complete
01:24the Grinch Wreath. Now you're thinking over two hours what took you so long was
01:27I was actually watching the Grinch while I was building everything together. The
01:30instructions for the 523 piece build was pretty straightforward. I will say one
01:35thing that Brickcraft did do well is that they colorized all the pages so you
01:38knew exactly what pieces you were dealing with. Features though also on the
01:41front of the manual it shows you as well the other sets that they have out right
01:44now. A couple of different ornaments we will be looking at. We will also be
01:48looking at as well the Grinch down to the fireplace as well as the Grinch at
01:51the chimney. We'll say perhaps maybe of the sets they provided to me I may have
01:55picked the hardest one with the wreath. Not that it was necessarily hard but
01:59you'll see in a second it becomes a little bit more difficult. But yeah the
02:02instructions are really easy to read. I mean each of the steps show you exactly
02:06how many pieces you need and which color you need. It gets a little bit more
02:09confusing. First of all I will say that the wreath is quite strong. It's
02:13reinforced by several layers of bricks. So one thing though that won't fall
02:17apart is the wreath itself. Something that may though fall apart as we get to
02:21later into the manual here. It's when you start to have to add all the
02:24additional foliage. Now it's simple and straightforward right around here.
02:29I shouldn't even say that. If I go back a few pages when you start to add
02:33like just these you can kind of already see it's just a case that you have one
02:37piece that goes over top of a brick. Another one and another one and that's
02:41pretty easy to understand. But then when you get to around here you got to have
02:44to add layers on top of layers and I will admit there were a couple of times
02:47in fact I had to go back to the box sort of as the referencing point just to kind
02:51of make sure I had everything kind of laid out the way it was. Even if I kind
02:54of have some of the pieces a little off and out of the way I think for the most
02:57part I've got the the general idea of what the wreath is supposed to look at
03:01or look like. To get all the way to the end of the manual though you're looking
03:04at 156 steps if I'm not mistaken. The 156th step in fact
03:11actually involves you having to add the display stand which just happens to be
03:14right there and then on the back it tells you a quantity count of all the
03:17pieces that you have. Unfortunately though I am missing one piece. I'm
03:21actually missing a couple of pieces. I'm missing more specifically this piece
03:24right here C174-02-21. It wouldn't happen to have been one of those
03:29pieces where you just happen to get an extra one. That would have been perfect
03:32but it happens also be the piece that connects the little curly
03:38part to the candy cane and it goes right here. Without that I can't connect that
03:42last piece. I checked around in the box, I checked around in the other bags just to
03:45make sure I haven't lost it. I even checked around on to the floor to make sure I
03:47didn't drop it. I don't think that I dropped it but I'm missing it. Now I
03:51can't go back to other my brick sets. I'm sure I could probably find a piece
03:55that will go in there and I'll just easily fix it but I did want to tell you
03:58guys though I did have one piece that was missing. There were a couple of other
04:01things size-wise for pegs that didn't quite match. We're going to talk more
04:05about that in a moment but for the most part it was an enjoyable experience. The
04:08wreath itself looks fantastic once you get everything built. Now there is two
04:11ways of course to attach the wreath. Now you look on the back here there's
04:15a really strong cord that first of all you can mount this onto the wall via
04:18nail. If you don't like the idea of doing that you can also as well just mount it
04:22on its own display stand. The display stand like everything else though is
04:25just brick building pieces so what you can see it does have postability. It's
04:28got a ball joint down below here but you want to make sure that you've obviously
04:31got this just the right angle so that the wreath doesn't fall forward. I
04:34thought I had it at one point going the right way and maybe it wasn't completely
04:39flat and the thing fell forward. Every once in a while and you may even see this
04:42in this review. Everything stays structurally together. I would say
04:46probably just other than the leaves. Some of the leaves may periodically pop off
04:49just because again like it's only got one peg. It's a piece that goes on to one
04:52peg and there's not enough to kind of keep everything together so you may like
04:56bang it periodically. You might find a couple of these just fall off and I've
04:59just kind of put them back the way I think that they're supposed to be but I
05:02really do like the look of this quite a bit. Of course got Max on one side, Cindy
05:06Lou Who. I'm sure depending on what movie you see she isn't always two. You can see
05:12there's Cindy Lou there on the other side. Nice pretty bow there in the middle.
05:14It seems like we've also got some holly berries there on the sides. Larger
05:18berries also on the side. Of course we got the candy canes. Not 100% correct
05:22obviously because I'm missing the one little part that curls off here. The only
05:26other thing I will say though about the set is while I do love the look at the
05:29Grinch, he looks fantastic. I don't know if you guys can actually see this or not
05:32and I'm gonna bring back in the instruction manual here. See though how
05:36the top of his brow has three pegs across and then he's got that just
05:39random I'm guessing that is his eyebrow. When I noticed though I was building
05:44mine the piece that they included inside was actually four pegs wide not three.
05:48Of course I was kind of checking around like maybe did I use a piece somewhere
05:52else and there doesn't seem to be. So I noticed though with mine I actually got
05:55four pegs wide not three. So what would have normally been his eyebrow now kind
06:00of comes across look like a little random hair. It doesn't look as bad on
06:04this side but on this side though you may notice here even well I should just
06:07bring back the manual here. You can see kind of like the little furry rim of his
06:11hat should be a little bit closer to his eye but because the brow pegs were
06:15actually one peg longer it meant that the piece went over here. It should
06:19technically be right just underneath this furry rim right here. So I don't
06:23know again like some of the pieces that they included were a little bit not
06:26quite the ones that were suggested or shown in the manual but at least it
06:31gets the point across. It's still a nice-looking Grinch as you can see he's
06:34got his hat there on his head. Again like I probably will end up moving this
06:37one over or I'm gonna see if I can maybe find a piece that's a little bit
06:40shorter in size. You can also see as well that he's holding the candy canes on
06:43either side with his grips. Of course down below we got Merry Grinchmas. A nice
06:48little as well scarf consisting of red and white which again like that color
06:51scheme carries over nicely here as well to the candy canes on either side.
06:54There's lots of foliage though you can see there's leaves tiny little leaves as
06:58well large orbs. I don't know if those are supposed to be Christmas balls or
07:01berries but either way there's quite a lot of them all around the wreath. Again
07:05like kind of going back I think the only thing I would say though about the
07:07set just get this to stand here for a second when you get to around well even
07:13like right around here isn't so bad because you know again like it one goes
07:16to one one goes to one it's pretty easy to start lining up everything but when
07:19you start to get to around I would say like maybe around around here where you
07:23have to kind of line up everything I I think for the most part I've got the
07:27point across and I think that great look again looks fantastic the only thing
07:31about this one though is probably one of the reasons also why it took me a little
07:34bit longer to build was also I was distracted watching the Grinch but I
07:38think also too like there was a couple of times like when I was moving pieces
07:40around like I noticed that the leaves were falling off and I had to kind of go
07:43back look at the flip through the manual again kind of just figure out where
07:47those leaves were supposed to go and pop them back in place to at least an
07:51appropriate place where I think it's supposed to be the wreath looks good I
07:54don't know if I would necessarily hang it though on the wall even though
07:57there's technically a hanging string to the top of it my only one concern about
08:01that though is if it happens to come off the wall you would imagine especially
08:04depending on where you have your fireplace for example or even a higher
08:07wall if it happens to fall and happens to hit the floor I'm sure there's
08:11probably just gonna be more than a few leaves that are gonna end up coming off
08:13the piece so I think what I might just end up doing though is mounting it by
08:16the display stand that's included on the back the thing I really do like about
08:19what brick crafts done here is that they gave two options available for how you
08:23can display it if you don't want to have it mounted on the wall you don't have to
08:26mount it on the wall you just simply have it propped up instead of actually
08:29just leaning against something because that would not work at all they've
08:32actually thought that out and they include a nice little display stand
08:35which actually is built into the piece itself still though I'm gonna have to go
08:38back and see if I can check around to some of the random boxes of bins and
08:42pieces of things I have to see if I actually find a little connecting piece
08:45it's the only thing I was missing and again I noticed there were a few parts
08:48like the eyebrows here for example of the Grinch where the eyebrow isn't as it
08:52shouldn't be as wide as what we get right here but it still gives us a nice
08:55looking Grinch 523 pieces later two hours and 37 minutes or give or take
09:00later I really like a look at this quite a lot now again if you guys are
