00:00 I'm going to give it a five which I think is probably maybe a little high.
00:07 I think I'm going to give it a five and I'll explain my reasons why.
00:10 I think a lot of people weren't privy to the expectations and the goals at the start of
00:16 the season and they perhaps weren't privy to them until the accounts came out.
00:23 I was one of those that was kind of well aware of what the situation was and what, you know,
00:29 what constituted a successful season for Shrewsbury and that was staying in the division.
00:36 That is what they considered a success, staying in League One.
00:39 So for that, it's mission accomplished.
00:44 However, they did it with pretty much zero style, not far off from zero goals and at
00:55 times were absolutely awful.
00:57 At other times they did okay and they showed that they can play but it was a very underwhelming
01:02 I think.
01:03 Does it not do it justice?
01:08 It was a poor, poor campaign.
01:12 I think we can see why the squad's not quite at the level that it was when Steve Cotter
01:17 was in charge the year before because of the financial constraints and so on and so forth.
01:25 You can, you know, Paul Hurst proved when he was in charge of the club last time that
01:28 on a small budget you can recruit well, you can get good players in, you can find good
01:35 deals.
01:36 You might have to box clever and you might have to take a few more risks than other clubs
01:39 but it is possible.
01:40 I think it's fair to say that that just didn't happen for Shrewsbury this summer.
01:46 You know, we kind of found ourselves, I often look at the first team of the season to the
01:50 last team of the season and we kind of found ourselves with quite a lot of players that
01:56 were there the season before playing the majority of the games.
02:00 Yeah, it was underwhelming to say the least I would suggest.
