00:00 What you know about fear doesn't even come close. Here's a look at the brand
00:04 new Trick-or-Treat Studios the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake Leatherface 1/6
00:09 scale figure.
00:12 Trick-or-Treat Studios is proud to present the officially licensed
00:24 Leatherface 1/6 scale figure from the 2003 reboot of the Texas Chainsaw
00:28 Massacre. This figure stands roughly 13 inches tall and includes three hands, a
00:32 sledgehammer, plus a highly detailed chainsaw accessory. I don't think you're
00:37 gonna be able to seek much help from the sheriff. Just before of course we get a
00:40 closer look at the brand new Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003 reboot Leatherface,
00:43 I'd like to thank the folks once again over at Trick-or-Treat Studios that did
00:46 provide this sample we could have a look at. This one as well as the earlier two
00:50 Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3 and Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 Leatherfaces are all
00:53 available over on their site right now as of right now for $199.99. Not a bad
00:58 price for what you're getting here. The figure though of Leatherface is still
01:01 gonna stand about 12 and a half inches in height. Nothing seems to be changed
01:04 there and the figure is still gonna stand about 31 and a half centimeters
01:08 tall. In the 2003 film Leatherface was portrayed by actor Andrew Baranowski. He
01:14 was the same actor in fact that was also in the 2006 follow-up prequel Texas
01:18 Chainsaw Massacre A New Beginning. He was also as well Shrek's son in Batman
01:22 Returns and Zangief in Street Fighter starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. The
01:26 unfortunate thing about using the same body though as the earlier looked at
01:28 Leatherfaces is that Andrew is a considerably taller actor. So if you were
01:33 to say compare him with the Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3 or the
01:36 Leatherface for that matter from Texas Chainsaw 2 then he really should have
01:39 been a lot taller. Obviously I can't imagine that they're probably gonna be
01:42 using you know a brand new body to portray the version of the
01:46 remake Leatherface. Had they done that though they probably could have also
01:50 used the same similar style of body for a future Rob Zombie Halloween Michael
01:54 Myers for example. This chainsaw wielding maniac doesn't just wield a chainsaw
01:59 alone as it's the only figure from this line so far that comes with a secondary
02:02 weapon to wield. The figure comes also included with a sledgehammer and maybe
02:06 perhaps missing just a little bit of necessary blood on the end like he's
02:09 bashed somebody's brains in. I'm sure that's something you can easily add
02:11 yourself. The head of the sledgehammer has been nicely painted in a dark gunmetal
02:15 gray. In addition to that you've got some nice wood grain that they've added to the
02:18 handle there too and it fits pretty decently into his hands. The thing though
02:22 about it though is the handle of the sledgehammer I've noticed is pretty
02:25 thick though. Maybe one of the reasons why they made it as thick as they did is
02:29 so that it accommodated his existing hands without having to shrink the size
02:32 of his grip down. But it does look I mean obviously if you're looking at from the
02:35 side it looks like the handle of the sledgehammer is maybe a tad bit too
02:38 thick. Speaking of hands though the figure also comes included with only one
02:42 hand this time around. Part two came included for example with two pairs of
02:45 interchangeable hands and I think the other one came with one additional hand
02:49 but this guy gets relegated to only one hand and once again it's only on this
02:52 side of the figure's body as the other gripping hand is only really kept to
02:55 himself. The hands by the way though I'm just gonna bring in the one from Texas
02:59 Chainsaw Massacre 3 seems to be identical. The only thing I would say
03:02 difference wise between the two is the one from the remake looks a little bit
03:06 darker a little bit darker and grimeier but other than that it looks to be the
03:08 exact same hands. He also comes included of course his trusty
03:12 chainsaw and I like the coloring and the approach that they sculpted the chainsaw
03:16 on. I mean obviously basing it from the original source material. This version of
03:19 the chainsaw keeps the colors quite dark and grimy and gray. If we compare it for
03:24 example to the one that we get from Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 he had a red
03:26 chainsaw from then at that point and the actual teeth of the chainsaw in both
03:30 cases are saturated and soaked in blood. The blood though approached in part two
03:35 a little bit brighter in red. The blood though that's stained across the teeth
03:39 on the remake here kind of goes more with a rusted red. I like also the way
03:43 they've painted this so it looks like he's actually pulled this out of one of
03:46 his victims. It looks like it's been smeared across the blade. There doesn't
03:49 seem to be in this this time around any other additional blood splattered across
03:53 this whereas where we looked at the part two for example there was blood all
03:56 across the motor. This one for the rest of the remaining body of the chainsaw is
04:00 actually pretty clean. There's no blood anywhere it's saddled on this and
04:03 obviously comparing this to the more outlandishly sized version that we got
04:07 with part three the longer blade for the part three also did have of course the
04:10 saw his family and there was a lot well there was no blood at all on this one.
04:14 You can see the difference though is between the two sizes. This does fit of
04:18 course with his hands that he has right now or again if you wanted to you could
04:21 also use these hands and the trigger hands fit perfectly around the handles
04:24 although you may have to just melt these may have to soften these up a little bit
04:29 in hot water and then get the hands fit around the trigger like that. We're gonna
04:33 be bringing back in the chainsaw we will look to the final looks of the figure in
04:36 the meantime though let's go ahead and get the sledgehammer removed out of his
04:39 hands getting a closer look now at the remake leather face here. One of my
04:43 favorite things about the leather face is actually the design of the mask in
04:46 the in 2003 film. Did I say a new beginning? I meant to say new beginning
04:50 because I think if they leave the a out completely when it comes to the prequel.
04:53 Either way though he actually is the same actor that portrays Leatherface in
04:57 both the films. I do hope at some point we do get ourselves a new beginning
04:59 version of Leatherface. I mean that would be one I would certainly love to see
05:03 because his face is a little bit his mask is a little bit different than what
05:05 we get right here. One of my favorite things about the mask is the way they
05:09 stitch this. Now obviously in all the cases when we look at Leatherface is
05:11 generally consisting of many different squares and swatches of flesh that he
05:16 just sews together. This kind of keeps a lot of the the same skin all intact so
05:21 like the lower half of his body for example it doesn't have for example
05:24 little noses little ears or anything like the Savini design but it's a little
05:28 bit more simpler but very effective with a menacing look to his face. I love the
05:32 darker stitches that they did in the movie and that's nicely been replicated
05:36 here from trick-or-treat students. I love the coloring of his eyes too really dark
05:39 and recessed and one of my favorite things also about the remake is the way
05:41 they part the hair to have one noticeable stitch right down the middle.
05:45 It's a really nice looking head sculpt. This one also does have of course the
05:48 collar piece that extends a little bit further. Not that you'd be able to see a
05:51 beard for example but you can see like there's the under well you can see
05:55 somewhat of an under head underneath that you obviously wouldn't be able to
05:58 peel the face off but a really nice looking head sculpt here for Leatherface.
06:01 Now one of the things also with this figure they kind of tried to keep at
06:04 least from the design of this one closer to more the 74 film so he has like
06:08 for a very similar style of shirt although more noticeable stripes this
06:12 time around. He has a tie although this time around the ties tucked in and he
06:15 has himself of course the apron over top. The apron unlike the original is kind of
06:19 kind of dark more of a dark leather like brown material. It's a similar style of
06:23 leather that he also has wrapped around his forearms. Now what they've done here
06:28 is they've used what seems to be kind of a leather like material that they've
06:31 stitched off on the bottom corner and then they've wrapped it around with
06:34 fabric as well. It's a nice design of Leatherface. I mean the only thing I
06:38 would certainly say I mean from the comparison of this one to the ones we
06:41 had already looked at before yeah I just feel like he needed a little bit more
06:44 bulk or mass like a little more bulk in it especially at the top of his torso. I
06:48 mean it could have easily been something that they could probably added a little
06:51 bit of cushioning or padding in the shoulders for example just to kind of
06:54 bulk him up because again like the actor that played this guy was a beast in the
06:58 movie. One of the complaints maybe by people that didn't like as much the film
07:01 that they thought maybe the portrayal of Leatherface kind of started going down
07:04 that road of Leatherface being like an oversized beast. Obviously the actor that
07:08 would have played him I mean he was just a it was just a large guy and maybe it
07:12 doesn't translate as much to the figure especially when you're comparing it with
07:14 Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw 2 or Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3 for that
07:18 matter. They're all kind of using the exact same body. The thing though I like
07:21 about the bodies is that if you were to get underneath the the apron I'm actually
07:25 gonna take the apron off this time around but if I can actually just move
07:28 everything up a little bit so you can actually see you can see that they've
07:31 sculpted the lower mid abdomen area in as opposed to adding additional padding
07:35 that other companies have done before with their versions of Leatherface. This
07:39 guy around actually does get a sculpted stomach. This is also something that they
07:42 did with Texas Chainsaw 2. This is also what they did with Leatherface from
07:45 Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3. This body not only gives them some additional mass in
07:49 the mid abdomen area or mid torso area but it is also given some additional
07:53 weight which is for one reason why I'm surprised that this figure still sells
07:57 underneath 200 for the fact that some additional molding and new bodies really
08:01 had to be created for these figures. We're really again surprised that the
08:04 figures aren't over $200. Again I would love to see at some point obviously
08:08 like Leatherface obviously gets new masks in the movie usually gets like two
08:12 or three different varieties. Maybe what they could always do as a possibility
08:16 down the road is releasing accessory packs for this guy. Maybe not releasing
08:20 entire figures solely but if they maybe just release for example the heads on
08:24 their own and maybe some of the weapons along with that those would be fun
08:27 accessory sets to get. Then you could get the option for example if you did want
08:31 to change this head sculpt off just pop it off and change it out with maybe a
08:34 potential accessory set down the road. Just throwing out ideas there but for
08:38 the figures articulation it's pretty much gonna be exactly the same as the
08:41 other two that we've looked at already. The thing I've noticed though about this
08:44 figure is that he has better head articulation than the other two
08:46 Leatherfaces. It may have something to do with the fact he's got a little bit
08:49 more clearance at the back here but the head does move a lot freer than the
08:52 other two. I mean you can easily move the head back and forth up and down if not
08:56 for really the collar you'd be able to really rotate the head all the way
08:58 around. Now the thing also about the waist is like the waist does have a
09:02 little bit of a swivel but because again like this seems to be all one tooled
09:05 torso doesn't seem to have an upper torso crunch or a ball joint for that
09:09 matter. The arms come out at 90 degrees so still the same as the other two
09:12 bodies. I mean obviously you can bring the arms still forward and back. He
09:15 doesn't have a swivel here necessarily in the bicep. The bicep and the shoulder
09:19 all seem to be as one piece but he does have at least a swivel here where the
09:22 elbow also gives you the hinge. The hands also rotate all the way around and like
09:26 the other two - we can bring the arms down here - like the other two there's a
09:29 little bit of a squeak when you bring the legs out but also these figures all
09:33 seem to possess now ratcheted joints. I mean you really can clearly hear that
09:38 there's something going on behind the scenes when it comes to moving these
09:40 legs. They probably have done that also as well like I did mention the earlier
09:43 reviews of the other Leatherfaces that they probably did that just to ensure
09:46 that the figure has no loose legs over time. If that's something that they're
09:50 going to be doing for Leatherfaces I hope it's something that they're also
09:52 going to be doing for future Sixth Scale figures too. He has a swivel at the top
09:56 of the thigh. The figure does also have a double hinge on the knee and even
09:59 though we really didn't spend any time at all talking about his feet, the feet
10:02 on the figure - because he doesn't have the higher cowboy boots like Part Two
10:05 for example - actually has much more of a range of motion when it comes to moving
10:09 the ankles both up and down and also back and forth as well. Bringing the
10:14 other Leatherfaces that we've also had a look at - I mean this is covering off all
10:17 the three figures that Trick-or-Treat Studios have done so far thus far.
10:21 Bringing the earlier looked at Part Three - we looked at him in the earlier
10:25 review. If you haven't had a chance to watch those reviews give them a gander.
10:27 And also of course we looked at Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part Two. We did sort
10:31 of start these reviews with the second film. Liking that all the line - I mean
10:35 pretty much from like Part Two onward we've gotten ourselves Part Two, Part
10:38 Three and of course the remake. I hope at some point we also get ourselves Texas
10:42 Chainsaw 3D and I'm still holding out hope. I know I might be the only one and
10:46 it might be the minorities say this. I do hope that we still get Texas Chainsaw
10:49 Massacre Next Generation, get a regular dressed Leatherface and of course the
10:53 drag Leatherface that we get later on into the film. Nice looking figures. My
10:57 only real takeaway I would say is like well these two work well size-wise. You
11:01 know obviously again like having the actor being as big as he was in the
11:04 remake. Maybe they could have used a slightly bigger body but I mean
11:08 obviously they're trying to get as many figures out as they can. I guess one
11:12 sacrifice for not getting as big of a build as Andrew would have been in the
11:15 movie is that we do get ourselves a Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake and I do
11:19 hope that at some point we also do get ourselves the prequel pretty much using
11:22 the same body just tooling a brand new head sculpt. Andrew Brynarski who actually
11:26 portrayed Leatherface in the 2003 remake Texas Chainsaw Massacre film then came
11:30 back to reprise his role in the 2006 follow-up prequel Texas Chainsaw Massacre
11:35 The Beginning. Not a new beginning. I kept getting that confused with a Friday 13th
11:39 film but he was actually he's listed as online and being 6 foot 5. I kept
11:44 thinking he was closer to Tyler Maine's size but he's a little shorter than that.
11:48 Still though it's gonna translate to a figure from a six scale
11:51 standpoint he's still gonna be about the same size as the other two Leatherfaces.
11:55 If that's not gonna bother you at all it's a nice version that we're getting
11:59 here and keeping in mind again like considering that what Trick-or-Treat
12:02 Studios have done is very similar to what they did with the Michael Myers.
12:05 They dropped the license they basically said like we're gonna be now producing
12:08 six scale figures of them and then in a blink of an eye how many Michael Myers
12:13 figures have we've gotten? Blink of an eye how many Leatherfaces have we gotten?
12:16 It just goes to show how dedicated and how passionate Trick-or-Treat Studios
12:21 are with whatever franchise they end up picking up. They pick up the franchise of
12:24 Texas Chainsaw Massacre and just like that they already have three figures down
12:28 and hopefully that's not the last that we're gonna be seeing. Definitely want to
12:31 see a Texas Chainsaw Massacre the beginning not a new beginning. Definitely
12:34 would like to see a version of that get released and of course there's also of
12:38 course the always Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3d and Texas Chainsaw Massacre the next
12:42 generation still holding out hope for drag Leatherface. In the meantime if you
12:46 guys are interested to get this one or the other two that we've already had a
12:49 look at they are all available as of right now before they sell out you want
12:52 to make sure you get on those fast for $199.99 over on their site. I will provide
12:56 links down below in the video description if you guys are interested
12:58 grab any one of them or all three of them if you're able to. Definitely worth
13:01 getting them if you're a big fan of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise. Yeah
13:05 again big thank you to the folks over at Trick-or-Treat Studios that did provide
13:08 this sample of the remake Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I don't know how many times of
13:11 the three reviews I've said Texas Chainsaw Massacre somebody's probably
13:15 gonna be taking a tally but big thank you though anyways to them for providing
13:18 the figures we've had the chance to have a look at here on this channel. You know
13:20 of the three figures now that we've finally finished and wrapped up with let
13:24 me know which one is your favorite down below in the comment section. Also as
13:27 well if you guys did enjoy this video I want to throw it a like if you guys are
13:29 loving the content you guys are seeing and want to stick around for more. We
13:33 will be by the way also looking at some more Trick-or-Treat Studios reviews
13:36 there will be more coming your way so making sure you're coming back here on a
13:39 regular basis. In the meantime though backing up just a bit if you guys also
13:43 want to see the other things I've looked at for Tots in the past popping up also
13:46 at the very end of this video not only will be a playlist for Leatherface
13:50 reviews but also a playlist for Trick-or-Treat Studios. Feel free to give
13:53 those a gander if you have a little bit of time on your hands. As always guys
13:56 thanks for watching see you guys next time!
14:00 you
