00:09 Aadab Salam, Namaste
00:11 Today on Gigi's Platter, Gigi means Garima is going to make Bread Upma
00:16 Again a very simple dish, basic ingredients
00:19 let's see, for that we need bread
00:22 you can use leftover bread, fresh bread, brown bread, white bread
00:28 onion, tomato, curry leaves, green chilli, peas just to add the texture and flavour
00:35 along with that we need green coriander or mint for garnishing
00:39 along with that the normal spices like mustard, turmeric, salt, we will be using that
00:46 let's get going, let's heat up the pan
00:49 and till the pan heats up, we will make bread chura
00:53 how to make bread chura, you can make it in mixer, crush it with your hands
00:58 I will be using the mixer, ok
00:59 we will take a lot of bread slices and we will just make pieces and put it in the mixer and churn it
01:12 now we will churn it and make a powder
01:23 ok, our bread powder is ready, this is the way we want it
01:30 normally when bread upma is made, people make it in pieces
01:37 but this is Gigi's style, we will make a powdered bread upma
01:42 now we will add a little oil
01:45 around 1 tbsp
01:50 when it is hot, we will be adding the normal tempering of upma, that is curry leaves, green chilli and mustard
01:57 1 tsp of mustard
02:00 some curry leaves
02:02 turn the flame to low so that the flavour of curry leaves comes in the oil
02:08 along with that we will add green chilli
02:10 let's saute it
02:18 for 1 minute and then we will add onions, these are thick onions
02:27 1 big onion
02:29 we don't have to brown it, but it has to become pink and transparent
02:39 now we will add some turmeric
02:50 mix it well
02:55 turn the flame to low and let it cook
03:00 and as i always tell you on Gigi's Platter, if we want to cook something quickly, we should add salt
03:08 so I am adding the salt
03:09 we have already added green chilli, but we can add some red chilli powder just for the colour that the red chilli powder gives to the dish
03:19 onions are cooked and soft
03:25 now we will add 1 big tomato, which is not too thin nor too thick
03:32 mix it well
03:34 let it cook for 2 minutes
03:40 tomatoes should be soft
03:43 it doesn't take much time to cook the bread
03:46 now we will add boiled peas
03:52 this is optional, you can add it or not, if you want to add any other vegetable it is your choice
03:59 I am just adding it so that it changes the texture and gives a little taste
04:02 we have to cook the onions and tomatoes so much that we will add the bread when it is ready
04:10 we don't have to cook the bread much, it is already cooked, we just need to toss it and serve it
04:15 so this dish will be ready when it is ready
04:18 now it is ready, we can add the bread in it
04:24 the flame is on low
04:28 add the bread in it
04:31 we added salt earlier to cook the onions and tomatoes, so now we will add little more salt
04:40 mix it well
04:43 and cook it for 2 minutes in steam, cover it and keep it aside
04:51 turn off the flame so that it cooks in its own heat
04:55 it should not be soggy
04:57 mix it well and that's it
05:00 our dish is ready to serve
05:03 cover it
05:08 turn off the flame now
05:12 let it cook in its own heat and then we will serve it
05:17 garnish it with lemon, you can add lemon juice in it, I prefer to serve it, you can add it in your dish
05:24 you can use coriander for garnishing, I am using mint because mint gives the same color but different flavor and gives a little bit of freshness
05:34 we are done and ready to serve
05:37, garnish it with mint leaves as I told you before
06:04 and with it add lemon, add the zing, add curry leaves on top of it
06:11 bread upma on G.G's platter
06:16 for you, for your friends, for your kids, for your relatives, for your neighbors and for me
06:24 and when you will make it for me, first of all you will comment how you like it
06:29 please subscribe to G.G's platter and wait for the next dish, take care...
