00:10 Welcome to Gigi's Platter - 2
00:14 I know it has been a break but I have come back with lot of new & exciting recipes
00:18 You must be remembering, come ingredients, quick to make tasty dishes on Gigi's Platter
00:25 Today we will make a foreign dish which is called Pancake in our country language
00:33 So in that, like we make our Dosa, Besan ka cheela, Moong dal cheela, we will make it with all purpose flour
00:39 and that is why it is going to be called Pancake
00:42 For this we need some wild ingredients
00:45 like all purpose flour, sugar, little salt, baking powder, milk & butter
00:53 and we can serve it as a serving, I will tell you the optional ingredients as I make it
01:00 So we will start with making a whole batter
01:03 for that we will take 4 spoon all purpose flour
01:07 we are doing sweetening for taste, so 2 spoon sugar is enough
01:20 because when we will garnish it later we can serve it with some sweet things
01:26 and to make any sweet dish or to enhance it, 1 pinch salt is enough
01:32 along with that we will add 1 spoon baking powder
01:36 we will mix it well, first dry mix
01:43 and to make its batter we will take milk as a base
01:48 we will add milk and mix it till there are no lumps
01:55 it will take time as it is all purpose flour, just keep stirring
01:59 we want this batter to be of flowing consistency
02:05 it should not be too thick or too thin
02:08 this is the right consistency, if you can see it, it is flowing but it is thick
02:13 and now we will heat our pan
02:16 and we will keep stirring it till then, because the more we stir it the better it will become
02:22 if you want you can add some baking soda, I avoid it
02:28 it will give the consistency of the batter
02:34 and if you don't want to add baking soda, you can just keep adding air into it
02:39 now that our batter is ready and our pan is ready
02:43 what we will do is, we will grease the pan with little bit of butter
02:46 this is not a very oily dish, so we just need
02:49 it should not be sticky, and nowadays we get good non-stick pan
02:52 so we don't actually need to worry about it
02:55 little bit of butter
02:57 gas should be on low flame
03:00 and we just need to add
03:06 one spoon or one ladle of batter
03:09 and we will let it cook
03:11 we will cook it on low flame
03:13 when it is cooked a little bit, we will turn it
03:16 and that's done, then it will be removed to serve
03:19 now we will increase the flame
03:22 we will try to add little butter at the sides, so that it does not stick when we flip it
03:28 if you want you can use olive oil
03:32 you can use normal oil or ghee but avoid that because it has its own flavor, so it will add its own flavor
03:38 olive oil and butter is something which will not add its own flavor into it
03:41 now you can see it is already ready to move
03:44 so it is cooked on that side, we will let it become little more crispier
03:51 and then we will flip it
03:54 here it is
04:00 now we will let it cook on the other side
04:02 around 2 minutes
04:03 and we will keep it on one side and in the middle
04:08 we will add honey or maple syrup
04:10 or as you can see there is apple sauce filling on Gigi's platter
04:14 or you can add any other fruit filling
04:18 which you will get on Gigi's platter, go make that, make this, serve it together
04:22 a very very nutritious dish
04:24 flip it again once
04:30 and as I said it will be brown and this is the way we want it
04:33 again just a minute to crisp fry it on the other side also
04:39 and our pancake is ready
04:43 if you want to serve only one pancake, you can make a big pancake like dosa
04:49 but since pancakes are served as stack pancakes
04:53 we will make the second one, quickly
04:55 in the same manner
04:57 and before putting it on the top, what we will do is
05:00 we will make a filling, filling means in the middle
05:03 we will put honey in the middle
05:07 we will put little honey as we will put it in every pancake, so overall it should not be too sweet
05:14 now this pancake
05:17 we will flip and this is actually the best part of pancake when it starts getting bubbles
05:24 the brownness is already done, we will not flip it again and brown it
05:28 we will put it directly on this pancake
05:32 and if you can see it is frying on medium low flame
05:37 it's ready
05:39 and this will now be served
05:41 we will put it on the top
05:43 we will put the third pancake and then we will put honey on it
05:54 again very little honey as we have already put sugar in the flour batter
05:59 just a little bit of drizzle here and there
06:04 when we serve this, we can cut all the three stacks and eat it, that's the way it is to be eaten
06:12 because if we have to eat one by one, we can serve it separately
06:16 so our third and final pancake is ready
06:21 and we will not flip it and serve it, we will serve it as a cover to the remaining pancakes
06:28 that's already sweet, gas is on
06:31 our pancakes, stacked pancakes are ready to serve
06:34 and as I told you, the way to eat it is cut it as we cut cake
06:41 so to make this pancake more nutritious and more tasty
06:45 I have prepared the apple sauce that we have talked about
06:48 its recipe is already on Gigi's Platter
06:51 this pancake in which we have put honey and layered it
06:54 so, instead of honey you can do the layering of apple sauce
06:57 it will also be very very tasty and the nutritional value is increased
07:03 and when you will serve it, you will be happy that you have eaten the fruit
07:07 and keep subscribing to Gigi's Platter, keep watching, keep making and enjoy cooking.
07:13 Till next time take care...
