00:00 Newcastle United win yet another Premier League game, this time 4-1 against Chelsea
00:04 and a fantastic performance from Eddie Howside. They had their injury problems, they've all
00:07 been well documented. Joe Willock suffered a re-aggravation of an Achilles injury in
00:12 training, he was out so long staff wasn't able to play after his knock the other day
00:16 and you did wonder how they would cope but to be fair Eddie Howside did fantastically.
00:21 They coped with their injuries really well. Never really give Chelsea a sniff to be honest,
00:25 Isaac opened the score and after a delicious ball from Lewis Miley, definitely check that
00:28 out in the highlights, that was absolutely superb from Miley who made his full home Premier
00:32 League debut for the club. And then to be fair Raheem Sterling's free kick, you did
00:37 wonder at that point how Newcastle would react because it was a brilliant free kick, it was
00:40 slightly from La Salle's release possession in the middle of the park trip, you had to
00:43 foul, had to make the foul which then obviously Sterling then converted the free kick. And
00:47 going into half time you did wonder how much the injuries would play a part in the second
00:50 half. Newcastle you're expecting them to tyre, they've had their break, they were very much
00:54 down to just their first team squad really, they had three goalkeepers, four academy graduates
01:00 on the bench and just really Matt Ritchie and Paul Dummitt as senior players, senior
01:03 outfield players anyway. So you did wonder how they would cope in the second half but
01:06 they were absolutely magnificent. Jamal La Salle, he put them back into the lead with
01:12 a fantastic header. Anthony Gordon with a brilliant cross out from the left and soon
01:16 crossing La Salle with a trademark bullet header in the bottom corner. And then literally
01:20 minutes later Joel Linton, this was S, Thiago Silva and within the space of two minutes
01:24 Newcastle went from 1-1 and it was an edge of game to 3-1 and St James' Park was bouncing
01:28 again, it was brilliant. Rhys James helped them along with a second yellow card and after
01:33 a foul on Anthony Gordon that was poor from the England man but Gordon did very well to
01:37 dispossess him and yeah he was brilliant. And then he got the fourth goal after some
01:42 good work from Al Maran, Gordon then took down the right foot and yeah took it home
01:46 and it was a brilliant performance from Newcastle PFA, you've got to give them lots of credit
01:49 for the way they went about that. Yeah it was a brilliant performance from Eddie Howe's
01:54 side and one they'll take a lot of confidence from going into Tuesday's game now. Tuesday's
01:58 game is obviously going to be very difficult, PSG, very good team, probably pose a lot more
02:02 questions than Chelsea did. Chelsea weren't brilliant all game really other than the free
02:06 kick they had, they didn't really test Nick Pope too much, Nick Pope made one or two good
02:10 saves but other than that it wasn't a game where you'd have thought they'd get more than
02:14 one goal and Newcastle then played well, they played their part, they beat what was in front
02:18 of them and another fantastic result at a place where they've got a brilliant record
02:22 this season. Only that one loss to Liverpool, they've won every other game here in the league.
02:26 So yeah they're going to head to Tuesday full of confidence in what will be another really
02:29 really tough game but right now Newcastle's on a high and it was a fantastic performance
02:34 from all 11 players out on that field. Yeah so Eddie Howe, who we're speaking to right
02:39 now, it's interesting what he says about the injuries but as it stands right now, full
02:42 time, 15-20 minutes after full time, brilliant from Newcastle United and they'll head to
02:47 and she's a full of confidence.
