Transcript
00:00So Newcastle United registered back-to-back Premier League wins, this time with a 4-1 win here at Turf Moor.
00:07It was much like last week, it was a really interesting start for Newcastle, a really slow start for Newcastle.
00:12Burnley had the best of the opening exchanges and really probably should have went ahead early on.
00:18A couple of really good chances but Newcastle stuck within the game.
00:21They might not have started well but they managed to stay in the game and then within 20 minutes they were 3-0 up and that was game over.
00:26I think that's really when Eddie House's team are at their best, they can really blitz teams at times and they absolutely did that today.
00:3319th minute was the first goal, Callum Wilson put the side in front, he was making his first start since coming back from injury.
00:41He played alongside Isak, I think Isak sort of played just like he did with Alan Wilson.
00:45It was very much them two up front and what Wilson does and he has done throughout his career.
00:53It was a great ball in by Jacob Murphy, Alexander Isak had the first shot, that was saved well by Mirich.
00:57The first person to react was Wilson who tapped the ball home to give his side the lead.
01:01It was a brilliant, proper, poacher's effort from Callum Wilson, something you've come to expect from him.
01:06Giving Newcastle a good platform and then 15 minutes later Sean Longstaff, he was really good today.
01:13He's gone through some tough periods but Longstaff was very good today.
01:17Murphy again, he was a real danger down that right all game.
01:19He got past the defender, cut the ball back and that was Longstaff to sweep home.
01:26It was a great effort, great finish from Longstaff.
01:28Two-nil Newcastle, two goals set up by Murphy, although he won't get these assists for the first one.
01:32It was a good start for Newcastle and then just five minutes later they get the third.
01:36This time through Bruno Guimaraes, Anthony Gordon this time as a provider.
01:40He went down the left, cut the ball back and Bruno just side-footed home, wrong-footed Mirich.
01:45It was three-nil and it was three similar goals.
01:48Certainly the second and third goal were very similar.
01:50Get down the wing, cut it back, find someone in space to sweep home.
01:53Newcastle get three-nil, blitz their opponents and they get it in at half-time.
01:57Three-nil ahead with absolutely no worries in the second half really.
02:01Wilson was booked early on for a simulation.
02:03That was an interesting call from Anthony Taylor, one that he probably will regret making.
02:07I think he had a few iffy calls, Anthony Taylor, but in a game they didn't really have much to do.
02:12Then Newcastle thought they were going to have a fourth goal.
02:15Ten minutes into the second half, Anthony Gordon was brought down again for a penalty.
02:20How many times has that happened this season where he's got his side a penalty?
02:23Wilson and Isak both, of course, wanted to get on the scoreline.
02:26Both wanted to get their goal.
02:27I wouldn't really call it a scrapper.
02:30It was more of a debate about who would take that.
02:33Not like the Chelsea one we've seen.
02:34It wasn't really petulant.
02:35It was just two strikers really wanting to get that goal.
02:37It was Isak who won that debate.
02:39He stepped up and it was a penalty, but it was saved well by Moorish down low.
02:44Isak made up for that a few minutes later.
02:47Again, Jacob Murphy broke with the ball.
02:49His cross to Wilson was just behind Wilson, but Isak took a touch to slam it home.
02:534-0, that was it.
02:54That was all she wrote for Newcastle United.
02:56If it wasn't game over at half-time, it certainly was when it went 4-0 up.
03:00Eddie Howe could then make some changes.
03:02Isak and Wilson both came off.
03:04Anthony Gordon came off near the end.
03:06You'd really be able to rotate his side and give him a well-earned rest.
03:09Joe Linton came on.
03:10That was a good sight to see.
03:11He was given a massive cheer by the away fans just over the shoulder.
03:17His return is another big positive.
03:19Alma Rahn returned as well.
03:21Again, lots of positives to take from Newcastle.
03:23Was it the best start of the game?
03:24No.
03:25Could they have been behind in the first 20 before they went ahead?
03:27Yes.
03:28But they'll take the win.
03:33It's what they need to do at this stage of the season.
03:34I said before the game they need a statement win.
03:36This really was a statement win.
03:37Before the game, it was going to be a really tough game.
03:39Burnley in some form, but it was a really good performance from Eddie Howe's side.
03:42Yes, they'll be disappointed not to have that clean sheet to RR Shea
03:45in the last few minutes with a looping header.
03:47It was a great finish, to be fair, from O'Shea.
03:49A looping header over to Bradford to make it 4-1.
03:51But the game was done and dusted by then.
03:53You guys really went down gears and really just did exactly what they needed to do.
03:58In that final period, they didn't stress themselves too much.
04:01They didn't really exert themselves, or overly exert themselves.
04:04It was a comfortable 4-1 win and one that will go down really well in the dressing room.
04:09One that Man U now have got to stand up and take notice.
04:11And Chelsea, of course.
04:12But Man U are playing at Crystal Palace Monday night.
04:14Chelsea play West Ham on Sunday.
04:16They've laid down a mark on you guys.
04:18That's all they need to do.
04:19Keep winning games and they've done that well with a 4-1 win over Burnley.
