00:11 Today on Gigi's Platter, we will make a delicious corn soup
00:15 We will use a new technique in making corn soup
00:19 That technique is, we will steam this corn in a microwave
00:25 What will happen by steaming in a microwave?
00:27 The juices of the corn will remain in the microwave
00:30 Because if we peel the corn like this, half of the corn will remain in the corn
00:36 Half of the corn will come in your hand, your hands will also be a little dirty
00:39 So when you see that we will steam it and peel it, we will get whole grains
00:44 We can use those grains in many places, but today we will make its soup
00:49 Now when we microwave this corn, we have to do it with its cover
00:56 So that it does not burst
00:58 Because if you put it in the microwave without peeling
01:01 The juice in it can burst and spoil your microwave
01:06 And the corn will obviously burn
01:08 So take covered corn, microwave for 6 to 7 minutes
01:12 Cool it down a little
01:14 Remove the covers
01:16 And I will show you how easily it will peel
01:19 Soup will be made after that
01:21 So first I will put it in the microwave
01:24 [Music]
01:34 Now our corn has come from the microwave
01:37 It has also cooled down a little
01:39 Now we will peel it
01:41 So you have to pay a little attention to peel
01:43 Because obviously it is hot
01:45 Steam is trapped inside
01:47 And there is husk in it
01:49 We will try to peel it along with the husk
01:56 So we will cool it down a little more
01:59 And then we will deseed it
02:04 Means we will remove its grains
02:06 And it will be very easy now because it is steamed
02:09 So take the knife in the middle
02:11 And turned it slightly
02:13 And these grains started coming out
02:16 You can see that these grains are coming out completely
02:19 [Music]
02:22 Normally if we try to remove the grains of raw corn
02:25 Then the grains will break
02:27 The juice will spread here and there
02:29 Here the juice has been sealed
02:31 So very easily we can just keep removing the niblets
02:37 We will remove the corn niblets
02:39 And if you want you can do it with your hands
02:45 And there is another way
02:47 You can cut it with a knife like this
02:53 [Music]
02:57 So you can remove it in the way you like
03:00 Basically we need corn niblets
03:03 Now our corn grains are ready
03:05 We have to grind them
03:06 But before grinding what I will do is
03:08 We will do the next level first
03:11 For that we will heat the pan
03:14 [Music]
03:16 We will put some butter in it
03:18 Now it is soup, so it should not be too fattening
03:20 So just a little butter
03:22 Why do we need this butter?
03:23 Because we have to saute the vegetables
03:25 Normally we can boil the vegetables with the soup
03:29 But its taste will be a little less
03:31 So we will add finely chopped capsicum in some butter
03:37 Preferably green
03:39 Because our soup will be of yellow color
03:42 And when the green color will be seen
03:44 It will look very beautiful
03:46 Finely chopped beans
03:48 Now this is like 5-6 beans
03:51 And again for color and taste
03:55 Finely chopped carrot
03:58 This is just a small carrot
04:00 And till it is sauteed
04:03 It cooks a little
04:05 We will grind the corn
04:08 So now we forget this by covering
04:10 [Music]
04:13 Corn has a lot of fiber
04:15 We will grind it too
04:17 So we have to filter it
04:19 Because it will be smooth
04:21 But if we use it like that
04:23 Then there will be fibers in the mouth
04:25 Which is not so comforting
04:27 So first we will grind it dry like this
04:30 Then we will grind it by adding some water
04:32 After that we will filter it
04:34 [Mixing]
04:39 Yes, it is grinded
04:41 We will add water in it
04:43 Reduce the gas a little
04:45 Means reduce the heat a little
04:47 Mix it well
04:49 [Mixing]
04:53 Here we will add water in the corn
04:55 [Mixing]
04:57 Because we want a smooth soupy texture
05:01 [Mixing]
05:05 Yes it is done
05:07 To make it more smooth
05:09 You can grind it more if you want
05:12 [Mixing]
05:18 And now this mixture
05:20 We will filter it
05:24 [Mixing]
05:31 See this
05:33 We are getting a smooth paste
05:38 And that is what we will be using in the soup
05:40 We have to squeeze it well
05:42 And then we will add water in it
05:46 And then we will extract the juice
05:48 See this, there is a lot of fiber
05:51 Now we will add water in it again
05:55 So that we get more of the juice
05:58 Or corn juice
06:00 [Mixing]
06:11 Now you think if you don't filter it
06:13 Then so much fiber will come in your mouth
06:16 The taste will be spoiled
06:18 So filtering is very important
06:21 It is not done yet
06:23 But still we will add this soup
06:26 So that it starts cooking
06:30 And we will try to extract more juice from it
06:38 So now we have all the dry fiber here
06:43 And all the juices down there
06:45 We will add here
06:47 We will let it boil
06:51 Till now you have seen that we have not added salt in it
06:55 If you want to add salt
06:57 Then add it now
06:59 But I am not going to add salt
07:01 What I am going to do is
07:03 Soup cubes
07:05 If it is a cube for soup, then add it now
07:07 And this soup cube has salt and pepper
07:12 Which enhances the taste
07:14 Now if you don't want to add soup cube
07:16 Then add salt and pepper
07:18 Mix it well and boil it well
07:21 And then serve it
07:23 I will let it boil
07:25 I will increase the heat
07:27 And wait for the soup to get ready
07:33 So our soup has come to a nice boil
07:36 And obviously all the vegetables are cooked
07:40 And it is ready to be served
07:44 So we will put off the heat
07:46 Get a soup bowl
07:48 And we will serve it
07:50 Greens and orange and yellow
07:52 Amazing and tempting soup
07:54 And as it is my favorite
07:56 I will serve more than the quantity of soup that is normally served
08:00 With so many lovely colors
08:02 This corn soup does not need any garnish
08:06 Because of the amazing colors that it has
08:09 In fact, as soon as you serve
08:12 Within 5 minutes, this soup will be over
08:15 So for this, what you have to do is
08:18 After a little hard work
08:20 You have to share, you have to like
08:22 You have to comment
08:24 Do take care, bye bye
08:26 Bye-bye.
