00:00 What could be better for Halloween than spirits with sweets?
00:03 Here's your spooky spot in the Ghostbusters Light and Sound Ecto-1 candy container.
00:08 [music]
00:28 Just in the off chance that you guys are a Ghostbusters fan and would like to get your hands on this for yourself,
00:33 I did find this one at Retro Festive. I'll put the link down below in the video description.
00:37 Not only in the Ecto-chamber does it store candy, which I've yet to try,
00:41 but on the top of it is actually an Ecto-1 that not only illuminates the sirens,
00:46 but does actually play the theme song for Ghostbusters.
00:49 Of course, all of that can be accomplished by pressing the button here on the front.
00:53 I'll show you what that looks like in a second.
00:55 But I just wanted to show you guys the detail of just Ecto-1 alone.
00:59 For something so small and considering it's a candy container and all,
01:02 the fact that they would even put the little Ghostbusters logo on the side of the door,
01:06 the back of the door, and then again matching all the accurate colors on the top section,
01:11 the canopy section that sits on top of Ecto-1, it's again a really nice little recreation.
01:15 Now you wouldn't be able to remove this just because again there's wiring that runs right directly into Ecto.
01:20 And again, all can be activated by pressing the button.
01:23 Also, you can see as well some sticker applications there.
01:26 There's Ecto-1 and then there's Venkman, Spangler, there's a ghost trap, Zedmore, and of course Stanz himself.
01:33 Down below that, we've also got the "Try Me" button, Ecto-1,
01:36 and of course you've got yourself the main Ghostbusters logo down below here as well.
01:40 Now, do you guys want to see the lights and sounds first or do you guys want to see the candy?
01:44 Ooh, show of hands. All tell me that they want to see the lights and sounds first.
01:48 Okay, so what we will do is we'll press the button here and then basically again,
01:52 it will play the Ghostbusters theme song, which again, I think is accurate.
01:55 I don't think it's someone else singing the song and it does also illuminate the sirens here to the top.
02:00 All of again can be accomplished by pressing this button right here.
02:04 [Music]
02:21 The thing about the button though is it has to cycle through the song.
02:25 You can't turn it on and you can't let it go, for example, and just would stop playing.
02:30 Nor can you press it and press it again to turn it off.
02:33 Once you press it the first time,
02:35 [Music]
02:39 it will continue to play through until part of the song is finished and then it will eventually shut itself off.
02:45 Pressing it again does absolutely nothing.
02:48 [Music]
03:03 The thing also about it though is as you're pressing a button,
03:06 it won't play the same part of the song every single time.
03:09 [Music]
03:22 I suppose really based on that, the more times you're pressing the button,
03:25 eventually you'll play the entire song.
03:28 Obviously, I won't be playing the entire song for simply copyright reasons.
03:33 But down below, of course, we have ourselves also the candy.
03:35 I'm just going to reach off to the side here and grab my knife McCutcheons.
03:38 There is a little seal right here.
03:41 So I'm going to do my best to only cut the seal and not cut myself in the process.
03:44 Just carefully cut that.
03:46 I would imagine the candies are probably going to be quite generic.
03:49 The real sell of this is more so the fact we have a light up and song playing Ecto-1.
03:54 We're just going to close up the container.
03:56 We're going to put Ecto-1 right here for a second.
03:58 Let's open up the candies.
03:59 I mean, it doesn't even say Ghostbusters on it.
04:02 It's basically just like generic candy.
04:03 It says cool candy.
04:05 It would be even cooler, I feel, if they changed the C to a K and they called it cool candy.
04:09 You ever go to those stores where they change letters into other letters to make it sound cooler?
04:13 C to a K, S in laser to Z in laser.
04:18 I've been to places like that.
04:19 Anyways, we're going to go ahead and open up the candy carefully.
04:22 I don't want to spill this everywhere.
04:24 Dumping out some of the candy as best I can get it all out.
04:27 The candy feels like it's probably all going to be like that beaded candy.
04:30 You know that real cheap stuff that they always store inside much cooler looking containers.
04:35 The candy, again, is always the least interesting part of these things.
04:38 Yeah, it's basically all just those little balls.
04:40 I've seen these already before with other candy containers we used to look at here on this channel.
04:44 There's pink. There's yellow.
04:46 I got to believe as well there's probably green and blue also in there as well.
04:49 Anyways, we're going to try one of these.
04:51 I don't think it really necessarily matters which one I'm trying.
04:53 It's kind of, again, like a sweet tart.
04:59 I'm going to try another one here just to see if there's any difference in flavor.
05:04 There is a little bit of a difference of flavor, but all to be honest, the candy is sort of really underwhelming.
05:10 I guess when you really are done with it, you can probably fold it back up and then do your best to kind of fit it back in the container.
05:16 Ultimately, though, I think really the more interesting thing about this is the fact that the Ecto-1 does illuminate
05:23 and it does, again, play the actual song from Ghostbusters, which again sounds like it's the original song too.
05:29 It's not just someone else singing karaoke version of it.
05:33 Candy container is pretty cool.
05:35 The candy, though, is kind of disappointing.
05:37 So I would certainly say if you are a Ghostbusters fan, pick this one up for yourself.
05:41 It more for the fact, again, like it actually does say, actually plays the song for Ghostbusters.
05:46 The candy sort of, for me at least, is an afterthought.
05:49 By the way, as well, it does take batteries.
05:51 The batteries are just built into the side of it.
05:53 I would imagine it probably takes like a button cell battery.
05:55 It seems probably too small, I would imagine.
05:57 For like AAA batteries.
05:59 Probably would take a couple of button cell batteries.
06:01 But anyways, at least, luckily, the sound effects still play pretty great.
06:05 And I've actually been playing this quite a lot.
06:07 But today's spookerific review, we're looking at the Ghostbusters Light and Sound Ecto-1 candy container.
06:14 If you've had the chance to pick up this one for yourself, or let me know down below in the comment section
