00:10 If you're looking for a special birthday cake for your little fairy princess, I think I

00:15 It's a princess cake.
00:17 And as you'll see, the cake forms a beautiful gown over a doll.
00:21 Let's get started.
00:22 We're going to need three 8-inch round cakes and one cake that we've baked in an ovenproof
00:27 glass bowl like this.
00:28 I'm going to push this over to the side and we're going to start cutting.
00:31 I've already trimmed the dome off of one cake and inverted it onto our cake platter.
00:36 I'm going to cut the dome off of this one using a serrated knife.
00:43 And you can just set this aside.
00:44 If you want a snack on it, you can.
00:47 Now I'm going to cut this one in half also.
00:53 Rotate the cake as you go instead of cutting straight through.
00:58 One tip is to chill your cakes in the freezer for about 45 minutes before you cut them.
01:03 This will reduce the crumbs.
01:06 What I'm going to do now is I'm going to cut a small circle in the center of each cake.
01:10 This way we can insert the doll in later.
01:13 You can either use a small serrated knife, but you can also use little decorative pastry

01:27 One trick to keep a nice clean edge on your decorating surface is to use little pieces
