00:00:00They say, the harder the work, the greater the reward.
00:00:18This is our life's work.
00:00:21Good morning, it is 910 Wednesday, August 31st.
00:00:27This is the TDN Writer's Room, presented by Keeneland.
00:00:29My name is Joe Bianca, I'm the Associate Editor of the Thoroughbred Daily News, and for a
00:00:33little bit of self-promotion, I've got a new episode of Better Things coming out this week.
00:00:37We're going to handicap for our Breeders' Cup sponsor, our Breeders' Cup partnership
00:00:40and sponsorship, the Flower Bowl and the Jockey Club Gold Cup on closing weekend at Saratoga,
00:00:45and I had a great conversation with CJ Johnson, so check it out.
00:00:48Good morning, I'm Bill Finley, a correspondent for the Thoroughbred Daily News.
00:00:52September's upon us, Joe, and this is the thing I fear every year.
00:00:55My baseball team stinks, the games are irrelevant, so what do I do with my nights now?
00:01:00I mean, how many Seinfeld reruns can you watch?
00:01:02You need a second hobby beyond the Red Sox.
00:01:06I do.
00:01:07I need to get more in my life.
00:01:08You're absolutely right about that, Joe.
00:01:09The TDN Writer's Room is brought to you by Keeneland.
00:01:12Don't forget, the Keeneland September sale begins Monday, September 12th.
00:01:15You can check out the catalog, which has over 4,100 yearlings in it, at theworldyearlingsale.com.
00:01:23Big, big Travers Day, Saturday at Saratoga.
00:01:25Obviously, there's a lot of action to get to from the weekend, but we'll start, obviously,
00:01:29with the 153rd Run Happy Travers, and Epicenter simply put on a show.
00:01:34I went against him the last two races.
00:01:36I thought he was an underlay, and he proved me wrong.
00:01:39Jim Dandy was great visually, didn't get a huge figure.
00:01:43The Run Happy Travers was great visually, and he got a huge figure, 112 buyer.
00:01:48That puts him right up there with Flightline and Life is Good, and the top older horses
00:01:53in the country.
00:01:54To me, he's obviously going to be the three-year-old champion unless something crazy happens, and
00:01:58the next, maybe, somebody wins the PA Derby, and the Classic, and the Clark, or something.
00:02:03Seems like he's got this locked up, and he's well-deserved.
00:02:05It was a first Travers win for Steve Asmussen and Joel Rosario.
00:02:10I mean, the horse really deserved a grade one win.
00:02:13With the season he's had, you could argue he was best in both the Derby and the Prix
00:02:17de Nice, ran second in both.
00:02:20It was really well-deserved.
00:02:21Even though I didn't like him at four to five, it was great to see him have that crowning
00:02:26achievement in the Travers.
00:02:27Bill, what did you think?
00:02:28I completely agree, Joe.
00:02:31Going into the race, we all thought he was ... Again, from a betting standpoint, I can
00:02:34understand why you didn't think he was a great bet, but I think virtually everyone thought
00:02:40he was the best three-year-old in the country, but he had to prove it.
00:02:44Without that grade one win, what was on his resume to back that up?
00:02:48Really nothing other than some very good performances and wins in grade two and grade
00:02:54three races, and a really strong showing in the Triple Crown, but without a win.
00:02:59Now it's definitive.
00:03:01There's no argument.
00:03:02There's no debate.
00:03:03He is the best three-year-old.
00:03:04He did it the right way.
00:03:05He proved it on the racetrack, and he proved it over a really nice field.
00:03:09I mean, he wins by five and a quarter lengths over Cyberknife, who's the two-time grade
00:03:13one winner of the Haskell in Arkansas Derby.
00:03:15Zanden wins the Bluegrass, runs third in the Kentucky Derby.
00:03:18He's third.
00:03:19Rich Strike, fourth in the race, was the winner of the Kentucky Derby.
00:03:22So it's not like he beat up on a bunch of tomato cans or anything like that.
00:03:26He goes out there.
00:03:27He does what he's supposed to do.
00:03:29He wins the race.
00:03:30And I'm glad you mentioned that Bayer figure too, because it's not the be-all and end-all,
00:03:35but if he came out of the race with a 99 or a 101 or a 102, you'd say, well, okay, he's
00:03:40a good three-year-old, but he's not as fast as the top two older horses that lead that
00:03:46division, as you mentioned, in Flightline.
00:03:48Now numbers-wise, he's right in the thick of things with them.
00:03:52So going forward, let's assume, and I'm sure we'll talk a ton about Flightline later on
00:03:56in the show, but if Flightline wins the Pacific Classic and life is good, I don't think they've
00:04:01said whether or not he's running the Woodward or not, but if everybody goes into the Breeders'
00:04:04Cup sort of at the same level where they're at now, you can certainly make a case now
00:04:09for Flightline winning that race.
00:04:12That of course would make him not only the three-year-old champion, but the horse of
00:04:15the year.
00:04:16Absolutely.
00:04:17And he's had a really great campaign.
00:04:18I even have a wacky theory here, and bear with me on this.
00:04:23Early voting, if not for early voting, he might've won the Triple Crown, and here's
00:04:27why.
00:04:28Bear with me.
00:04:29If Chad Brown decided to run in the Kentucky Derby with early voting, who just about any
00:04:33other trainer would've done after he ran well in the Wood Memorial, then Rick Strike wouldn't
00:04:37have gotten in the race.
00:04:38He would've been the 22nd horse, not the 21st.
00:04:40So when Ethereal Road came out, he wouldn't have got in.
00:04:44This is all, I get it, really hypothetical, but then you could say that Epicenter would've
00:04:48won the Kentucky Derby.
00:04:50And if early voting ran up the track in the Kentucky Derby, even if he ran well, Chad
00:04:55Brown's never bringing him back in the Preakness, so then Epicenter wouldn't have won the Preakness
00:04:59too.
00:05:00He is the unluckiest good horse we've seen in a long time, but the bad luck is in the
00:05:04rearview mirror.
00:05:05It's all the wind is at his back, and he is a very good racehorse.
00:05:09He's had a great campaign going all the way back to February, January and February.
00:05:14That's what I love about his campaign is he didn't run his first race in April.
00:05:19He hasn't run three or four times.
00:05:21He's run a half-dozen times now, and has showed up every single time, and that's what you
00:05:26want in a champion for sure.
00:05:28Yeah, like I said, it was a crowning achievement for him, and that's an interesting theory
00:05:32about early voting and the way he might be the fly in the ointment.
00:05:37The discussion now turns to how he stacks up with the top older horses in the country.
00:05:43Honestly, it would be shocking to me if he became horse of the year just because who
00:05:48he's going up against, just because it's so stacked in the older male division, but putting
00:05:53up that figure, putting up that performance, I wrote on Twitter, it's the fourth-fastest
00:05:57Travers in history, and Travers has obviously been run for over a century and a half.
00:06:03I think it was General Assembly, Arrogate, and then one other one I'm forgetting that
00:06:07were faster than him at two minutes and 7,500s, and he was geared down by Joel Rosario.
00:06:13That was a special-type performance, and we've seen a lot of special performances actually
00:06:17in the Travers in recent years.
00:06:18You think of Tis the Law, Epicenter, Arrogate, horses that really stake their claim in that
00:06:26race, and that's what you want to see.
00:06:27It's the Midsummer Derby for a reason.
00:06:29I know Naira doesn't want to call it that anymore because it's technically late summer,
00:06:32but it's a race that should be a launching pad to the second half of the year for potential
00:06:38champions, and that's what it was here.
00:06:40I guarantee everybody on that racetrack and everybody producing the TV show is glad as
00:06:47hell that Chad Brown did not win that race.
00:06:50That would have been super, super awkward because it would have been his first Travers
00:06:52win, so they would have had to make a big deal out of it, but obviously with the arrest
00:06:56in the close rear view, it would have been super awkward.
00:07:00Anyway, let's go on to the rest of the card, and then we'll take a break.
00:07:03Can I make one point before we move on?
00:07:05You kind of brought up that, look, I mean, Horse of the Year, there's a long way to go,
00:07:09and if Life is Good or Flightline wins the over Epicenter in the Breeders' Cup Classic,
00:07:15I don't think he would be Horse of the Year, but in the NTRA poll that comes out each week,
00:07:21I was one of four people that voted for Epicenter number one.
00:07:24Now, will I vote for him for Horse of the Year?
00:07:26I don't know, but the reason I did is something that you just talked about, and voters in
00:07:34Horse of the Year and the industry as a whole, we've got to kind of come to grips of what
00:07:37we're going to do with horses that have three race campaigns, which is what Flightline is
00:07:42going to have this year, and to me, is Flightline a better horse than Epicenter?
00:07:46Probably.
00:07:47I mean, and that's saying a lot because I'm a big Epicenter fan, we'll know more after
00:07:51the Pacific Classic, but the definition of Horse of the Year, like you said, he's been
00:07:55slugging it out since, was it March or February?
00:07:59He ran back two weeks after the Kentucky Derby in the Breedness.
00:08:03I'd love to see him now go in the Pennsylvania Derby or something like that, but it's 2022,
00:08:09they just don't do that with good horses anymore.
00:08:13Everybody coming out of Saratoga, see you at the Breeders' Cup.
00:08:15But to me, if the Horse of the Year race ended today, I would vote for Epicenter because
00:08:20that's the term, Horse of the Year.
00:08:22He's had a real campaign.
00:08:24He's been running hard.
00:08:25He's been running often.
00:08:26He's been good.
00:08:27I realize only one grade and one win, but stacking up against Flightline, who's won
00:08:31one time this year, one time.
00:08:35And come time to cast my ballot for Horse of the Year, I will have those sort of things
00:08:40in the back of my mind.
00:08:41I was even for a while thinking maybe Jackie's Warrior, and I'm sure we'll get to him as
00:08:45well, might've been a worthy Horse of the Year candidate with him losing in the four
00:08:48ago, maybe not now.
00:08:49But this is going to be a big issue going forward.
00:08:54Does a horse who only runs three or four times a year really deserve to be Horse of the Year?
00:08:58I'm not so sure they do.
00:08:59Yeah, no, it's a definite concern.
00:09:02We'll talk about it when we preview the Pacific Classic.
00:09:05As brilliant as Flightline is and as great as he is to watch, he's had kind of a pretty
00:09:09lame campaign, just to show up in the Met Mile and then the Pacific Classic, and then
00:09:16presumably the Breeders' Cup Classic.
00:09:19As great as it is, even Ghostzapper ran more often than that, and he's the horse that I
00:09:23compare him to most.
00:09:24And Ghostzapper had some feet issues, and obviously we would like to see him run more
00:09:28in his career.
00:09:29But even he had four plus race campaigns.
00:09:32So I agree.
00:09:33And I don't have a vote for Horse of the Year, but I'm with you that if you want to reward
00:09:38the longevity of a full campaign over a horse that maybe is more brilliant but has only
00:09:44run a couple of times, I'm all for that.
00:09:47I always found it weird when horses would come in and win the Breeders' Cup Turf from
00:09:52Europe, and then they would get the Champion Turf Horse honor.
00:09:56It's like, yeah, I get it that they won the biggest race, but they only ran here one time,
00:10:02and you're rewarding them over the horses who have been filling these grade one turf
00:10:07races throughout the year, who maybe aren't quite as good on paper, but have more earned
00:10:12it from a longevity standpoint.
00:10:14So that's an interesting conversation.
00:10:15I think as we get closer to the Eclipse Awards and to the Breeders' Cup, that conversation
00:10:20is going to intensify.
00:10:21And we could do like a poll or something, like an industry poll.
00:10:25What do you value more, an informal industry poll based on people's votes?
00:10:29What do you value more, brilliance or hardiness and being able to run a full campaign?
00:10:35So that's certainly interesting because that's a debate that's going on in racing right now
00:10:39in terms of how often horses should run.
00:10:41So we'll keep an eye on that.
00:10:43We'll talk about the rest of the races coming up after this break, because I think there
00:10:46was enough on the undercard throughout the country this weekend that we could fill a
00:10:52full segment about it.
00:10:53So we're going to be right back after this.
00:10:56The TDN Writer's Room is brought to you by Keeneland.
00:10:58Traverse Hero Epicenter was a Keeneland September sales grad selling for $260,000 from Bettersworth
00:11:04Westwind Farms to Winchell Thoroughbreds.
00:11:06His half-sister is preparing to sell this year at Keeneland September.
00:11:10The filly is by Taperature and sells as HIP 1600.
00:11:13Taperature is a little underrated sire.
00:11:16I wouldn't sleep on him.
00:11:18Personal ends and victorious, Mallethod is also a Keeneland September grad sold for $1.05
00:11:23million.
00:11:24Her half-sister is also selling this year at the same sale.
00:11:26The filly is by Medaglia d'Oro.
00:11:28You may have heard of him.
00:11:29He's in book one as HIP 220.
00:11:31In the latest Breeders Spotlight series presented by Keeneland, Chris McGrath talks to Gainesway's
00:11:37Anthony Beck, whose homebred Spinderella recently won the grade one Delmar Oaks.
00:11:44Beck talks about how the success of Spinderella, a daughter of Gainesway stallion Cara Conti,
00:11:48has been a reward for his support of turf breeding.
00:11:51You can find this story at TDN.
00:11:53It's called Beck Spending Wisely on Grads.
00:11:55We'll be right back after this message from Keeneland.
00:11:59When the thoroughbred world descends upon Lexington this November, there is one place you need
00:12:05to be.
00:12:06The place where history comes alive with every championship victory.
00:12:12The place where the future is built with the fall of a gavel.
00:12:17The place that exists to be the heart of this industry.
00:12:20The center of it all.

00:41:49Echotown.
00:41:50Echotown.
00:41:51Echotown.
00:41:52So, you know, the one thing that I would caution, if there's people that are breeders, you know,
00:41:57that are watching or tuning in, I think sometimes coming out of July in Saratoga, there can
00:42:02be this euphoria, like, oh my gosh, you know, the market is rolling.
00:42:06And I, of course, hope that it continues to roll.
00:42:10But I do think that that group of horses is a little bit insulated.
00:42:16You know, you've had relatively small catalogs between July and Saratoga.
00:42:21You've got hand-picked horses on confirmation.
00:42:24So in general, they should all be good-looking horses.
00:42:27I mean, Fasig's got a good selection team.
00:42:30You know, the consignors do their part to bring the right product.
00:42:34And definitely, you've got plenty of money to go around.
00:42:37The Penhookers had a good year this year.
00:42:39They're the backbone of July.
00:42:41And then you get to Saratoga, a lot of those buyers up there, even if they were going to
00:42:47ratchet down their budget in 2021 and say, you know, I think I'm going to spend 25% less,
00:42:55they're probably not going to cut out the Saratoga experience because that's, it is
00:43:00an experience.
00:43:01It's not just buying horses.
00:43:03It's a social atmosphere.
00:43:05It's intertwined with the racing and it's just, it's a place a lot of people want to
00:43:11sign a ticket.
00:43:13So that's the cautionary side that if Saratoga wouldn't have been good this year, I would
00:43:19have been really worried because it was set up.
00:43:21A lot of those people playing on the top end are pretty insulated from stock market volatility
00:43:29and stuff like that.
00:43:31As we get into September, we've got a lot more horses, a lot bigger community from all
00:43:36over the world coming together.
00:43:38A lot of things that are happening in other parts of the world might come home to roost
00:43:42a little more.
00:43:43So I guess my message is we've got great purses.
00:43:46That's driving a lot of this activity.
00:43:49We've got, despite a lot of crazy things that are going on in the world, there's still a
00:43:53lot of people that have done really well through COVID and made a lot of money and they're
00:44:00part of our core audience.
00:44:03But we've still got our biggest hurdle to jump over, which is Keeneland September.
00:44:07So the jury's still out.
00:44:09When we get into books three and four, are we still feeling the same way or did we say,
00:44:14hey, we hit a little bit of a plateau or a lull here?
00:44:17So we still got to see.
00:44:19I'm going to be telling all of our sellers, don't have your head in the clouds.
00:44:23You look down and you say, oh, there was a gun runner that brought 650 at Saratoga and
00:44:29I think mine's just as good a mare and blah, blah, blah.
00:44:33But sometimes there's a fine line between, especially with the big stallion books, there's
00:44:37a fine line between the one that brings 650 and the one that brings 325.
00:44:41Sometimes it's a 5% difference on the physical.
00:44:44So you have to be smart.
00:44:45You got to know the market and you can't get way out ahead of yourself on what you think
00:44:50is going to happen.
00:44:52So obviously you guys are having success with tailor-made stallions.
00:44:54We know a lot about the team, a little.
00:44:56We know more about the team for the sales side of the business.
00:44:59But can you tell us a little bit more about the team for the stallion side?
00:45:02Well, I give my brother Ben a ton of credit.
00:45:06He is the most quiet tailor.
00:45:09He's behind the scenes.
00:45:11But I think you could argue that he's had the biggest impact on our success overall
00:45:15of our brand.
00:45:18He's really passionate about managing these stallions.
00:45:21He tries to protect them.
00:45:22We're the sellers and we want to add mares, add mares, because we don't like saying no.
00:45:27But he tries to protect our horses, increase the longevity, and he's got a great team.
00:45:33Travis White has been with us for over a decade.
00:45:36Great guy, very talented.
00:45:38Liam Benson helps with selling the seasons and is a utility player for the whole team.
00:45:45And he's got Wendy Upton and Tina Miller that have been with Ben for a long time and take
00:45:50good care of the customers, getting contracts, booking the mares.
00:45:54So it's a real family affair in our stallion operation.
00:45:59It's a smaller boutique stallion roster.
00:46:02We're very lucky to have owners that support us and believe in us, sending us their horses.
00:46:08And we're very blessed to have a great management team and I'm just happy for them.
00:46:13They put in so much work and not every horse hits, but now they've got one that it looks
00:46:18like can stick around for a long time and really be the anchor of our operation.
00:46:22Mark, there's been changes in the management of Tailor Made.
00:46:25Your brother Duncan, who was the CEO for such a long time and did such a tremendous job,
00:46:29has stepped aside and you are now the CEO.
00:46:33How has that changed your role and how has it changed, if it has changed things much
00:46:37at all, the way things are now run at Tailor Made?
00:46:40Okay, so the changes at Tailor Made, it's been an interesting dynamic because Duncan,
00:46:45he founded Tailor Made and he, in many ways, shaped the company we've become.
00:46:52And he did a lot of the heavy lifting early on when the odds were certainly against him.
00:46:57He was pretty much a nobody and had to carve out his niche in the business.
00:47:03And he was generous enough to structure it where Ben, Frank and myself could come in
00:47:11and join him as time went on.
00:47:15And so, having him change roles was definitely a big shift.
00:47:20It's like Lee Iacocca or somebody changing roles at Chrysler.
00:47:27He's the iconic person who started it.
00:47:30But to his credit, he also has been working on succession planning for a long time, probably
00:47:36for 20 years.
00:47:38We've been talking about it and preparing for it.
00:47:41And I would also say that he's a servant leader.
00:47:45So even though his name's not on as CEO and he's handed that off to me, he's still around
00:47:52every day.
00:47:53He's there to ask questions too.
00:47:55And then I'm constantly comparing myself.
00:47:58I'm asking myself, how would Duncan handle this?
00:48:01And I think the main thing is, I'm going to have my style.
00:48:05Duncan is much more of a driver.
00:48:07I'm more of a harmonizer, trying to get people to work together and maybe not as forceful
00:48:13of a leader.
00:48:15But as far as our core principles of putting the customer number one, having a total focus
00:48:21on honesty and transparency and taking care of our people who work for us too, that's
00:48:28the backbone of TaylorMade.
00:48:30And I'm very cognizant of not letting that slip or let that change.
00:48:34We've also got younger, the next generation that's coming up, both relatives and non-relatives
00:48:40that are taking more responsibility and taking key roles.
00:48:44So Duncan's still in the house.
00:48:46And in some ways, Duncan is actually, I think, freed up to help us in more ways right now
00:48:52because he's not burdened with the day-to-day CEO role.
00:48:57He's really given some great consultation work with top customers and helping them with
00:49:04their programs and making decisions.
00:49:07And I see a lot of positives coming out of that too.
00:49:09And my brother Frank has done a great job stepping into my sales role.
00:49:14And I think a fresh approach to that has really shaken things up in a good way.
00:49:19So I think it's all been positive and my goal is just not to mess it up.
00:49:26That's number one.
00:49:27I think they're going to be just fine with you at the helm, Mark.
00:49:30We always appreciate talking to you, always appreciate the insight.
00:49:33Congratulations on all the success from Not This Time and best of luck at Key One September.
00:49:37All right.
00:49:38Thanks a lot, guys.
00:49:39Enjoyed being on.
00:49:40Thank you, Mark.
00:49:41And I appreciate the show.
00:49:42Yeah.

00:51:08This week's XBTV Workout of the Week is Flightwide, where we might be talking about a bit in the
00:51:13next segment or in the next week or so.
00:51:15He works Saturday at Del Mar going five prolongs and 59-3 as he prepares to make his next start
00:51:21this Saturday in the Grade 1 TVG Pacific Classic.
00:51:25His closing weekend on the horizon for both the Saratoga and Del Mar meets, XBTV has already
00:51:29uploaded almost 2,000 morning workout videos.
00:51:33It's a great tool for handicappers, I tell you that every week, and horsemen too, to
00:51:38access the nation's top horses and future stars, do a little scouting as well.
00:51:42So go check them out at XBTV.com.
00:51:48So here's the weekend preview segment sponsored, of course, by Three Chimneys.
00:51:52Closing weekend, Labor Day weekend, Bill, the summer is coming to an end, it happened
00:51:56so fast.
00:51:58All eyes are going to be on Flightline, there's a bunch of action in Saratoga that we'll get
00:52:01to, but you got to start with Flightline in the Pacific Classic.
00:52:05This is the biggest test of his life by far, just based on the fact that he has to go a
00:52:11mile and a quarter.
00:52:12I know he had a formidable foe in Speaker's Corner, we saw it in the Met Mile, the Malibu,
00:52:20we thought maybe he had a couple of OK horses last year.
00:52:23In retrospect, he was so much better than everybody else in all of those races.
00:52:27And up to a mile, I don't think that there's a better horse than him in America.
00:52:31I don't know that there's been a better horse at a mile in the last 10, 20 years than him.
00:52:35But now he's got to go a mile and a quarter, which is obviously the distance of the Breeders'
00:52:39Cup Classic.
00:52:40Looking at his potential competition, it's not going to be a total walkover.
00:52:46There are going to be horses who have been proven at this distance and at this level,
00:52:50namely Country Grammar, who we saw earlier this year win the Dubai World Cup at this
00:52:54distance.
00:52:55We also have Royal Ship, who won the San Diego earlier this meet.
00:52:59Express Train, who was a grade one winner at a mile and a quarter.
00:53:02Stiletto Boy, a couple of other, maybe one or two other.
00:53:06California also ran types, not that, I mean, Stiletto Boy has run some OK races, but in
00:53:11terms of the big names to tackle Flightline, Country Grammar is the biggest name so far,
00:53:16I think.
00:53:17Bill, how do you feel?
00:53:18He's going to be one to five.
00:53:19Do we like Flightline going a mile and a quarter, or are we waiting to see?
00:53:23Well, yeah, I do.
00:53:26And that's certainly not going out on a limb.
00:53:29But one of the things about this race, Joe, as much as we lament the fact that the horse
00:53:33never runs so infrequently, when he does run, it's such a treat because it's like Christmas.
00:53:38We get to see it.
00:53:39Christmas plus July 4th and Thanksgiving, we get to see those things three times a year.
00:53:43And we're going to get to see him three times this year.
00:53:48You're right about the distance being the question.
00:53:51And I don't think Country Grammar is as good a horse as Flightline, but he's a legitimate
00:53:57grade one mile and a quarter horse.
00:54:00And I'm OK with him losing the San Diego.
00:54:02It was his first race back coming out of Dubai.
00:54:05Obviously, Baffert was gearing him up for this race.
00:54:07But go back to Jackie's Warrior.
00:54:10These races, they do have, it's a cliche, but they do have to run the things.
00:54:14And so we can't just say at this point he's going to win.
00:54:18But the whole thing about him going a mile and a quarter, you have to take the pedigree
00:54:22into account.
00:54:24When Jack Christopher struggled going a mile and an eighth, he's by Munnings.
00:54:28Very good sire, but you're not thinking of Munnings as somebody who's necessarily going
00:54:32to throw mile and a quarter, mile and an eighth horses.
00:54:34This horse is by Tappet.
00:54:36And there's hundreds of Tappets out there that have been good going two turns, mile
00:54:41and an eighth, mile and a quarter on the dirt.
00:54:43So you don't think because of his breeding, he's going to have any problems or from his
00:54:46running style.
00:54:47And again, I'll say this.
00:54:50If he wins by a half a length, I'm going to be disappointed.
00:54:54There's just a magical element to this race.
00:54:58It's almost like we can't even believe what we're seeing.
00:55:01And I want to see him go out and win by 12 lengths again, pulled up at the 16th pole
00:55:06and run a 118 buyer.
00:55:08And the fact that that's possible is what makes this horse so cool and so much fun to
00:55:14watch.
00:55:15Yeah, I wish he ran eight times this year.
00:55:17Yeah, I wish they're going to bring him back next year.
00:55:19I don't think they've said publicly what they're going to do, but it's hard to imagine that
00:55:23he wouldn't be retired at the end of the year.
00:55:26And I, as a fan, look, unless I fall in love with somebody that I think will definitely
00:55:31run second, I don't think I'm betting the race.
00:55:33What's a Flightline Crunchy Grammar Exact is going to pay, what, $380 or something like
00:55:37that.
00:55:38So there's not much to get excited about from that standpoint, but, you know, it's must
00:55:42watch television.
00:55:43We'll all be tuned into TVG at, this race will probably go off about nine o'clock Eastern
00:55:47time.
00:55:48And yeah, I want to see Flightline go out there and just make our jaws drop again.
00:55:53Yeah.
00:55:54I mean, that's what we're looking for.
00:55:55And like, like you said, lamenting how infrequently a run he runs, it's only because we love watching
00:56:00him so much.
00:56:01If he was a bum, we wouldn't care if he ran three times a year.
00:56:04We want to see him more often, but I get it.
00:56:07I get that, that he's, you know, he's had some minor physical issues in the past and
00:56:12he's so, so valuable and so brilliant.
00:56:14I get why they're, why they're cautious with him, but yeah, we, that's, that builds up
00:56:19the hype even more, how infrequently he runs that when he does run, you're like, I want
00:56:23to see something special.
00:56:24You know, you, you, you gotta, you gotta run like 158 to impress Bill this Saturday in
00:56:31the Pacific Classic and win by eight or 10 lengths.
00:56:34And you know, like I said, it's not going to be easy because it is a legitimate grade
00:56:37one field.
00:56:38And until they go that mile and a quarter, he hasn't even been two turns.
00:56:40He's been a mile, been a one turn mile.
00:56:43That's it.
00:56:44He hasn't even been two turns, much less a mile and a quarter.
00:56:47You know, I, it's, it's a tough betting race, like you said, unless you fall in love with
00:56:51somebody else.
00:56:52I'm glad that for better things this week, we're handicapping the, the flower bowl and
00:56:55the jockey club gold cup instead, because I think those are going to be more fertile
00:56:59betting races to try to pick somebody who can, who can win at a price.
00:57:03But you know, anybody who's taken a shot against flight line, I tip my hat to you because I'm
00:57:07just going to be watching, but I think, you know, this is the time to do it.
00:57:11If, if you're going to take a big shot against him at a really short price, this is the time.
00:57:16And you know, I think what's, what's going to be so key is whether or not he's going
00:57:19to be able to switch off and relax.
00:57:21Like I mentioned, stiletto boy, watch him win now that I called him and also ran the
00:57:25stuff.
00:57:26That'll be the next Remy cartoon.
00:57:27We'll be still stiletto boy yelling at us, but no, but the thing about his, his presence
00:57:31is that he's speed.
00:57:32And I think that that's key is that, you know, we'll see what the draw, what happens with
00:57:36the draw, but flight line, depending on where he draws is probably going to have to at least
00:57:40send a little bit early just to get in position and be up near the lead, because that's where
00:57:46he wants to run.
00:57:47Like maybe not, maybe he'll drop back to fifth or sixth and make a big run.
00:57:50But I think a horse with his kind of speed, you gotta be up there near the lead.
00:57:54And maybe, maybe he just gets sucked in a little bit to too fast of a pace.
00:57:58Anything can happen on the racetrack.
00:57:59Like you say, that's why they run the races.
00:58:01And that's, to me, this is the most exciting race that flight line has run so far.
00:58:05The other ones I think were more of a fait accompli where we expected him to win and
00:58:09it would have been a complete stunner if he had lost.
00:58:12I don't think it'll be a complete stunner if he loses on Saturday, if the mile and a
00:58:15quarter gets him and he gets a little tired late in the last furlong, I wouldn't be completely
00:58:20shocked.
00:58:21But that's, you know, that's, that's the intrigue is to see what he does going that classic
00:58:25distance, because he's going to have to do it against a better field, against these horses
00:58:29and then some in the Breeders' Cup Classic with other speeds.
00:58:32So this'll be a nice little appetizer for that.
00:58:34And I'm curious that if he doesn't win, if he does come up, you know, lagging a little
00:58:39bit in the stretch, if they reverse course and go to the dirt mile, or if they stick
00:58:43with it and try to go for the classic, because I don't know that he's going to win horse
00:58:47of the year.
00:58:48If he just has the Met mile win, maybe a second on Saturday, and then the Breeders' Cup dirt
00:58:52mile win.
00:58:53I don't think that that's going to be enough to do it for him.
00:58:55So I think it's full speed ahead to the classic, but I, you know, we're going to find out a
00:58:59lot more on Saturday, obviously it's just some undercard races at Del Mar, I should
00:59:03mention as well.
00:59:04It's a big weekend at Del Mar, they have the Del Mar Handicap and the Del Mar Mile on Saturday
00:59:09as well.
00:59:10Both grade twos.
00:59:11The Del Mar Handicap is a Breeders' Cup winning, you're winning, you're in for the Breeders'
00:59:15Cup turf.
00:59:16On Saturday, they've got the Green Flash, which is a great three, winning, you're in
00:59:19for the Breeders' Cup turf sprint, the Torrey Pine stakes on Saturday as well.
00:59:23But we got some action at Saratoga to talk about that we're going to get to right after
00:59:27this break.
00:59:29This weekend preview is brought to you by Three Chimneys, Sharp Azteca, who we talked
00:59:32about earlier, was well-represented over the weekend with undefeated multiple stakes winner
00:59:37Tyler's Tribe, who got all of our writer's room eyes on, romped in the Prairie Meadows
00:59:42Freshman Stakes.
00:59:43Shout out to anybody in Iowa that watches this show.
00:59:46We're watching you guys and we're excited any time a small track comes up with a really
00:59:49good horse.
00:59:50Tyler's Tribe is now four for four as he looks to the Breeders' Cup, Sharp Azteca also has
00:59:54another impressive two-year-old, and Sharp Azteca, Bill, you should just do this.
00:59:57You teed up all of this Sharp Azteca stuff for Three Chimneys.
01:00:01Sharp Azteca, who Bill mentioned, won the Tyro Stakes in his last start, and fellow
01:00:05Three Chimneys sire, Funtastic, had a Saratoga Maiden winner over the weekend with Funtastic
01:00:09again, who is owned by Three Chimneys and trained by Wesley Ward.
01:00:12Funtastic, who's a Grade 1 winning son of more than ready, is represented by his first
01:00:16crop of two-year-olds this year.
01:00:18We'll be right back after this message from Three Chimneys.
01:00:21Here comes Tabor.
01:00:22Tabor in the center of the track with good looking stride, squares off with Cyberknife.
01:00:23Cyberknife takes the lead.
01:00:24Tabor going with him.
01:00:25These two in a thriller.
01:00:26Cyberknife just in front, and Cyberknife has won the TBG.com Haskell.
01:00:27Over Tabor, Jack Christopher finished third, the running time, 1 minute 46.24 seconds.
01:00:46Gunrunners on top of the world!
01:00:49Come, dream with us at Three Chimneys.
01:00:57And it's all Tyler's Tribe to the final furlong.
01:01:00He's putting on another show tonight.
01:01:02He is eight lengths in front.
01:01:04Now it's 10.
01:01:05Now it's 12.
01:01:06Tyler's Tribe pouring it on as they come down to the line.
01:01:07He's going to win by double digits, and he stops the clock in 104.
01:01:23Let's run down the rest of the graded stakes action that we're looking forward to this
01:01:26weekend.
01:01:27I don't want to slight Kentucky Downs because Kentucky Downs opens tomorrow, which I mentioned
01:01:31before.
01:01:32I mentioned earlier, I talked to CJ Johnson on Better Things.
01:01:35He's the guy who really, one of the guys that really jumpstarted that Kentucky Downs program.
01:01:39And now it's a real marquee boutique meet.
01:01:41It's going to have, they're going to have a bunch of stakes on opening weekend.
01:01:44They have the Juvenile Philly Stakes, the Juvenile Mile, the Mint Million, which is
01:01:48a great three.
01:01:49They have the big ass fans, Dueling Grounds Derby on Sunday, as well as the Dueling Grounds
01:01:54Oaks.
01:01:55So that's always a point of viewing for me.
01:01:57Love that track.
01:01:58Love that wagering product.
01:02:00So I didn't want to slight them.
01:02:01But other than Del Mar, most eyes are going to be on Saratoga on Saturday and Sunday.
01:02:07This is obviously the traditional closing weekend where you have the grade one two-year-old
01:02:10stakes.
01:02:11The Spinaway is on Sunday for two-year-old Phillies.
01:02:13Then we have the hopeful, of course, on Monday for the two-year-old boys.
01:02:17John Green and DJ Stable are going to be represented in the Spinaway with Wonder Wheel.
01:02:21I believe there's going to be a story about today in the TDN.
01:02:24So best of luck to the homies at DJ Stable in the Spinaway.
01:02:28But at Saratoga on Saturday, we have the Jockey Club Gold Cup, the Flower Bowl, and the Saranac.
01:02:33The Jockey Club Gold Cup and the Flower Bowl are winning year-end races for their respective
01:02:37Breeders' Cup divisions.
01:02:38This is the first year that I can remember ever the Flower Bowl being run as a grade
01:02:42two.
01:02:43It was downgraded last year, which, I don't know.
01:02:45Once they moved these races to Saratoga, I kind of felt like they lost their place on
01:02:49the Belmont calendar.
01:02:50The Flower Bowl used to be real.
01:02:52Something that trainers really pointed for with Philly turf horses, not so much the case
01:02:57anymore.
01:02:58The Jockey Club Gold Cup might get a big field.
01:03:00We might have a big grade one field, which would be exciting.
01:03:03Olympiad is going to be in there to try to bounce back from the Whitney.
01:03:07He really needs that kind of bounce-back performance.
01:03:09American Revolution, who unfortunately picked on better things for the Whitney, had to scratch.
01:03:14He's going to be in the Jockey Club Gold Cup, most likely.
01:03:17First captain is in there, dynamic one, informative friend of the show.
01:03:21We're fans more.
01:03:22He's not a friend of the show yet, but we're fans of Uriah St. Louis.
01:03:26He'll be in there, untreated for Todd Pletcher as well.
01:03:29It looks like Todd Pletcher will have a couple of horses.
01:03:31Bill, what are your thoughts on the Jockey Club Gold Cup?
01:03:34Yeah, I just want to interject something about Kentucky Downs as well before I move on to
01:03:38the Gold Cup.
01:03:39You know, I mean, obviously everybody's going to be looking at Saratoga and Del Mar, but
01:03:43if you're a horse player, do yourself a favor.
01:03:46Bet this product on Saturday.
01:03:49When it comes to a betting product, there's nothing like it in horse racing.
01:03:53And I realize not every track can run a seven-day meet, but I mean, the gambling aspect of it
01:03:59is fantastic.
01:04:00I mean, virtually every race has 12 horses in it with a four-to-one favorite.
01:04:04I mean, I've hit $400 exactives there before.
01:04:07I mean, you know, I couldn't compose to hitting, sometimes I can't hit a $40 exactive at other
01:04:14racetracks.
01:04:15So, you know, don't let that pass by your attention because it is as good.
01:04:19I would say this, from a betting standpoint, when you're looking for full fields, competitive
01:04:24racing and reasonable takeouts, it's as good as it gets.
01:04:27Okay, so now, the Jockey Club Gold Cup is one of those races that's struggling a little
01:04:31bit because of the way racing is run now, and that's why they moved it from Belmont
01:04:37to Saratoga.
01:04:38I mean, before the Breeders' Cup came along, Joe, it was a little bit before your time,
01:04:42but this was the most important race in the country for this division.
01:04:45It was the championship event.
01:04:46But all things considered, they came up with a pretty decent field this year, and what
01:04:50they're doing is, you know, there are certain horses out there that, like a country rammer
01:04:54on the West Coast, that are mile-and-a-quarter horses, and those are the horses that are
01:04:58going to go into the Jockey Club Gold Cup, you know, horse like First Captain, who was
01:05:05second in the Suburban a mile and a quarter, Dynamic One, who won the Suburban a mile and
01:05:08a quarter.
01:05:09Now, it gets a little tricky because we record this before the entries are out, but I believe
01:05:13Olympiad is running in here as well, yeah, and, you know, he'll be the real story to
01:05:18me because, on paper, he's the best horse, but he really didn't show a lot in the Whitney
01:05:24when fourth.
01:05:25You know, did he have an excuse that day, did he just have a bad day?
01:05:29Will he be the real Olympiad, the horse that, yeah, I know you were so high on it, and rightly
01:05:34so, coming into the Whitney.
01:05:37I would think, you know, he's the most likely winner because, you know, he came by Belmont.
01:05:40Belmont wouldn't be running him in here if he wasn't very confident that he was going
01:05:44to rebound, but it's a neat race, it really is.
01:05:47You know, it's not the Jockey Club Gold Cup as old.
01:05:50It's in the Saratoga meet, it's always going to take a backseat to the Whitney, but nonetheless,
01:05:55you know, this is not a far and away, this is nowhere near a bad Jockey Club Gold Cup.
01:06:01It's a decent, interesting race, and Warlike got us in the Flower Bowl, that'll be cool,
01:06:04and Mont's talking about running her in the Breeders' Cup Turf against the males, so that
01:06:09would be really cool to see.
01:06:10Let's hope she goes out and backs up his confidence, and she likely will, she's really good.
01:06:15Yeah, well, and he was teasing potentially running her in the Sword Dancer, which I chose
01:06:20against it, so yeah, I would like to see her take on the boys eventually.
01:06:24As for the Jockey Club Gold Cup, it hurts my heart as a kid who grew up going to Belmont
01:06:29Park, you know, like you're saying, it was a little before my time when that was the
01:06:32marquee race, but I remember it being a huge, huge race on the calendar for a long time
01:06:37at Belmont.
01:06:39That was the biggest day of the Belmont fall meet by far, was Jockey Club Gold Cup day,
01:06:44and obviously there's not really that marquee day anymore at Belmont.
01:06:49It's obviously a great, high-quality fall meet, but without that centerpiece, it doesn't
01:06:53feel the same, and I get why they did it, and I think, like you said, it'll be a good
01:06:57field this year with Olympia, and I think, like I said, we're going to get 9, 10, maybe
01:07:0111 horses in there.
01:07:02We'll see when the entries come out, but I think it'll be nice to at least have a full
01:07:06field in that race, and yeah, Olympia needs a bounce back.
01:07:10I don't know if you read Junior Alvarado's quotes after the Whitney, but he was really
01:07:14laying into Olympia.
01:07:15He was like, didn't show up at all, like he should have at least tried.
01:07:18I was like, all right, he's allowed a bad race.
01:07:21He's had a good year, but yeah, we'll be looking for him to bounce back, so Flyline is the
01:07:27marquee attraction.
01:07:28He's on the top of the playbill, and then below him, we've got the Jockey Club Gold
01:07:33Cup, and then the Flower Bowl, and then also Kentucky Downs, like you mentioned, should
01:07:37not be overlooked, especially if you're a horse player.
01:07:40They got low takeout, big fields, turf racing.
01:07:43What else could you want?
01:07:45Definitely get involved at Kentucky Downs.
01:07:47TDN Writer's Room is brought to you by West Point Thoroughbreds.
01:07:50If you somehow already didn't know, if you got through this episode, and you had noise
01:07:55canceling headphones on or something, this is your PSA.
01:07:58Flightline is running this weekend, and the $1 million TBG Pacific Classic, I got to clear
01:08:02my throat for that one, because it's so exciting.
01:08:04One to five favorite in a field of six, the impressive son of Tapit is owned by West Point

01:08:11Best of luck to Terry and everybody at West Point.

01:08:22They're good for the game, undeniably.
01:08:24Also, this weekend, West Point has first captain in the Jockey Club Gold Cup at Saratoga.
01:08:29Son of Carlin is coming off a second place finish in the grade two Suburban with grade
01:08:32one contenders on the same day, coast to coast.
01:08:35It's going to be a super, super exciting day for West Point.
01:08:37There's actually a story in today's TDN about the kind of mirroring lives of first captain
01:08:42in Flightline.
01:08:43So I can't imagine anything better than having a horse running in grade ones on either side
01:08:47of the coast, and especially when one of those horses is a superstar in Flightline.
01:08:52So best of luck to all the partners at West Point, and we'll be right back after this
01:08:56message from West Point Thoroughbreds.
01:09:00All the thrills.

01:09:41When it comes to being at the sales ground, showing your horses, we are with your horse.
01:09:45Just driving up and down the road every day, there's not a time that I don't look out and
01:09:49feel a responsibility to the sport, the animal, the people that come to invest in the game.
01:09:53I want to see as many people enjoy this sport as they possibly can, because we do have the
01:09:56most beautiful sport in the world.
01:10:00The TDN Writers Room is brought to you by Legacy Bloodstock.
01:10:03Legacy has almost a hundred-year-old catalog for the upcoming Keeneland September sale,
01:10:07so we'll be taking a look at a few of those in the coming weeks.
01:10:10In the first session of book one, they have two Gunrunner occults that we previewed last week.
01:10:15In the second session of book one, they have a Curlin filly selling as hip 318.
01:10:19The chestnut is out of grade one winner, Let Faith Arise.
01:10:23Go see Tommy and Wendy.
01:10:24There's only a limited amount of time to go see them and get ready for Keeneland September.
01:10:28I'm sure they've got a lot on offer for every type of buyer.
01:10:32They'll do a great job and do right by you as a smaller shop.
01:10:37This week's Remy cartoon is the life of a jockey growing up.
01:10:41The mom's telling the young jockey, I need you to cut the grass, replace a light bulb,
01:10:45and fix the toilet.
01:10:46Then in the next panel, we've got, I need you to pick me up from soccer,
01:10:50help with my homework, and drop me off at Danny's.
01:10:52In the next panel, I need you to teach me how to swim, take me to the movies,
01:10:55and find my Barbie dolls.
01:10:56And of course, in the last panel, the fancy owner telling the jockey,
01:10:59I need you to break sharp, lay third, and win.
01:11:01Jockeys do have to take a lot of instructions.
01:11:03I don't know if I could handle it.
01:11:05But the great thing about being a jockey, once those gates break,
01:11:08you can do whatever you want.
01:11:09You don't have to pay attention to the instructions at all.
01:11:11There's plenty of jockeys who don't do it and do just fine.
01:11:14I think what's the old adage, Bill?
01:11:17The great jockeys don't need instructions, and the bad ones don't follow.
01:11:20Don't follow.
01:11:21That's how it is.
01:11:22So we promised you some jockeys behaving badly this week.
01:11:25This was reported yesterday.
01:11:27It was a story from T.D. Thornton in today's TV.
01:11:30It was first reported by The Pollock Report that Gerard Molanson,
01:11:33who is a 5,000-win jockey, he's raced mostly in Louisiana,
01:11:38was arrested, I believe in Shreveport, Louisiana,
01:11:41for allegedly using a buzzer on a horse.
01:11:45And not to stereotype, but this seems to be the kind of thing
01:11:48that happens a lot in the Texarkana area.
01:11:51I remember Roman Chapa in Texas, this happening to him.
01:11:54I think it's happened a couple of times in Louisiana as well.
01:11:57I don't know what it is, but at least somebody stepped in
01:11:59and did something about it if that was what was going on.
01:12:02You know, this is the first time, and Bill, I'm sure,
01:12:04can expound on this, but this is the first time I remember
01:12:07a jockey being arrested for this kind of thing.
01:12:09Usually they're just suspended or ruled off the grounds or whatever.
01:12:12This is the first time I can remember the law getting involved.
01:12:15What are your thoughts, Bill?
01:12:16Yeah, I mean, remember also Billy Pateen in the Arkansas Derby
01:12:19with Val Hall at Oakland a couple of years ago.
01:12:22First of all, I mean, we ought to be careful.
01:12:24Innocent until proven guilty.
01:12:26He has said that he is innocent.
01:12:30He did not do anything, so we'll see what happens here.
01:12:34But, you know, if in fact he did it, there's no excuse.
01:12:39And any jockey who gets caught using a battery, in my opinion,
01:12:42at the very least should be thrown out of the game for life.
01:12:44And there's no second chances.
01:12:45One time, I saw the kid at Mammoth.
01:12:47I don't even remember his name last year.
01:12:49Got caught.
01:12:50And they gave him a 10-year suspension.
01:12:53And I think the stewards recommended that maybe it turn into a lifetime ban.
01:12:56I think it's one of those things where that's the most the stewards
01:12:59can maybe give or the Racing Commission can give his 10 to start off.
01:13:02But what I found particularly interesting about this
01:13:04was this is being dealt with outside the racing industry.
01:13:08And according to the reports, he was arrested by state police
01:13:12and is alleged to have done something, violated a law on natural stimulation.
01:13:18And, you know, will that mean if he's convicted, he can wind up in jail?
01:13:23Who knows?
01:13:24I'm sure it's just a misdemeanor.
01:13:25Maybe it would be a fine.
01:13:27Maybe it would be probation, something like that.
01:13:29But, you know, at least in Louisiana, they've taken it one step further.
01:13:34And you know what?
01:13:35If he in fact did this, and this is such, again, alleged, alleged, alleged.
01:13:41We've got to give him his day in a court.
01:13:42But to me, doing this is such a heinous offense
01:13:45that I got no problem with a guy going to jail for this,
01:13:48just like no problem with Jorge Navarro going to jail.
01:13:51You know, this is just something that there's absolutely no place for it whatsoever.
01:13:56And, you know, this is good.
01:13:58I think that maybe everybody else should follow this
01:14:02and maybe these similar laws should be on the books everywhere.
01:14:06So we'll find out how this goes.
01:14:07Obviously, he's not going to ride while this is going on.
01:14:09And he was kind of tailing off in his career anyways, you know,
01:14:12riding fewer horses and not winning a ton of races.
01:14:14But, you know, G-Money, that's what they call him down there.
01:14:17And could he be, soon be, not G-Money, but prisoner 17358784?
01:14:23Very well could.
01:14:24And you know what, Gerard?
01:14:25If you did it, this is what you deserve.
01:14:28Yeah, no, it's true.
01:14:29Bye-bye.
01:14:30Like this is the kind of thing there could be no tolerance for ever in racing.
01:14:35Forget it, you know, forget about the cruelty of it.
01:14:37Think about the headline.
01:14:38Think about people seeing that headline of a jockey shocking a horse into running faster.
01:14:44And it happens too frequently.
01:14:46Like I see these headlines every once in a while.
01:14:49This should be like a once every 20 years thing maybe.
01:14:52I don't understand how this happens relatively frequently in racing.
01:14:58And like I said, there should be no tolerance for it whatsoever.
01:15:02And the guys won 5,000 races.
01:15:04Like it's the suggestion to me that if this is true, which is not proven to be true yet,
01:15:09if this is true, the guys won 5,000 races, it's something that he's done before.
01:15:14You know, I don't think that if this is true, this is the first time that this has happened.
01:15:18And it's just, it's completely unacceptable.
01:15:21And it just flies in the face of everything that we say that we're doing for the horses.
01:15:26And I just, it grosses me out.
01:15:28And just to a larger point, you know, like you're saying, you should go to jail if, in fact, he did this.
01:15:32I, just as a societal thing, I think we're not strict enough.
01:15:36And we don't punish people hard enough for animal cruelty.
01:15:39You know, it's just, it's just ridiculous.
01:15:41Like a lot of times you can do something horrible to an animal and you can pay a $500 fine.
01:15:45Or, you know, maybe, maybe you get like a week in jail or something like,
01:15:49I'm not saying it should be on the same level as like cruelty and violence to people,
01:15:53but I think it should be a lot closer.
01:15:55Not only, not only because it's horrible and because animals are defenseless,
01:15:58but also a lot of times animal cruelty leads to cruelty against people.
01:16:02Like you, you look at some of the history of like mass murderers and stuff.
01:16:06Almost always they were cruel to animals and killed animals in their upbringing.
01:16:10And then eventually it leads to violence against people.
01:16:12So even if you don't, even though you don't really care about the animals personally,
01:16:15it's a warning flag thing.
01:16:17It's a red flag type thing that needs to be taken much more seriously by the authorities.
01:16:21And I, you know, obviously that's, who knows how that could possibly happen.
01:16:24Like there would be, PETA, can we get on that?
01:16:27Like can you get off our tip for a little bit and go try to change the laws for,
01:16:33you know, the animal cruelty statutes all over this country?
01:16:36Cause it definitely didn't need to bump up the penalties.
01:16:38And yeah, I agree if this is true, goodbye, go to jail.
01:16:41Do not pass, go, do not come back to racing ever again.
01:16:46Okay. So that's going to do it for this week's edition of the TDN Writer's Room presented by Keeneland.
01:16:49Don't forget the Keeneland September sale begins Monday, September 12th.
01:16:53You can check out the catalog and learn more at theworldyearlingsale.com.
