00:00The Immigration Department has launched an investigation after the discovery of 12 foreign
00:06passports in the possession of one of its officers at KLIA Terminal 2.
00:12In a statement, the department's Director General Zakaria Shahban said the passports
00:17were found with the officer at the airport's Immigration Operations Center on January 1st.
00:22A police report was filed on January 7th.
00:25Zakaria said an investigation was initiated by the department's Integrity Division for
00:30KLIA while the officer had been transferred to the KLIA Immigration Depot pending the
00:35outcome of the probe.
00:37He added that the officer has yet to report to the new post.
00:41Zakaria said the department had a zero-tolerance policy for violations of integrity and would
00:46not protect any officer involved in misconduct.
00:50He added that disciplinary action, including dismissal, will be taken in accordance with
00:54the existing laws if the officer is found guilty.
