00:00Good morning. Well, milder air is on its way, but we still do have some snow in the forecast.
00:06Through this morning, though, there is some bright spells out there, especially across
00:10the southeast of England after a chilly start. Towards the west, holding on to a lot of grey
00:15skies once again. But in western Scotland, there are a few wintry flurries with some
00:20showers across parts of Orkney and Shetland. But on the whole, it's a largely dry Monday.
00:26And as for temperatures, still on the chilly side, especially in the east, temperatures
00:31still only around four or five degrees out towards the far south and west. Highs of up
00:37to eight or even 10 degrees, but quite a brisk south and southeasterly wind developing. But
00:44as we go through Monday evening and overnight, a band of heavy rain across Northern Ireland
00:49will push its way further towards the north and east. So take care during rush hour as
00:53this meets the cold air across Scotland. That's where we could see the risk of freezing
00:58rain to give icy stretches and also some snow that could lead to some disruption further
01:04towards the south of that, though, across much of England and Wales. Actually, it's
01:08a largely dry but often cloudy picture to start Tuesday morning. There could still be
01:14a touch of frost in places where we see any clear skies. But on the whole, temperatures
01:19actually slightly milder, especially out towards the west. So as we go through Tuesday
01:25morning, then it's an unsettled start across Scotland with outbreaks of rain, snow and
01:30the risk of that freezing rain. But that will gradually move its way northwards and ease
01:35as we go through the day. Then across much of the UK, actually, it's a dry picture into
01:41Tuesday afternoon, perhaps with some hazy spells of sunshine across much of England
01:45and Wales, but often cloudy across Northern Ireland and still with quite a brisk breeze
01:51around. But as the temperatures less cold than recent days, we're starting to see temperatures
01:58rise. So in the far south, that's where we'll see temperatures the highest around eight
02:04to 10 degrees. So as we go through midweek, that's when the temperatures really start
02:10rising. We'll start to see milder air being brought up from southwesterly winds. So most
02:16of us come Thursday and Friday, we'll see temperatures rising into the double digits.
