00:00Hello there and a very good morning to you on this chilly and bright Thursday
00:04morning. High pressure in charge today, still breezy for some, bright for most.
00:10That breeze continues across Western Scotland as well as the far north.
00:14Notice the frost across central and eastern Scotland down towards southern
00:18areas, Midlands, Wales as well as Northern Ireland and even further south we're
00:23seeing some pockets of frost. The breeze will pick up through the morning across
00:26the far southeast. There could be some chunks of cloud here just drifting
00:30across the sky. For most though it's a day of blue sky and sunshine, a lovely
00:35day to be out and about. Winds are light inland which is great news and any fog
00:41patches will basically fade away so a fine day where you've seen fog first
00:47thing. Now through the morning not a lot of change but notice down towards the
00:51far south there's one or two showers lurking across the Channel Coast which
00:55could just about clip the far south there as we head through the morning
00:59into the afternoon. Elsewhere it's dry, temperatures around 7 for Scotland, 9
01:05for Northern Ireland, 7 for Wales, 8 across central and eastern areas of
01:09England. So that's the picture today, high pressure remains in charge but it is
01:13slowly drifting towards Scandinavia and we inherit an easterly wind and notice
01:19this feature here could bring some showery bursts of rain to the south on
01:23Friday. Because the air is cold there could be a wintry mix associated with
01:27this showery rain as well. Winds will be a bit lighter elsewhere into Saturday
01:33but a lot of cloud generally and one or two wintry showers just clipping the
01:37east coast. So through Thursday evening notice that showery nest towards the far
01:42southeast does linger on. The winds picking up further elsewhere, the brisk
01:47breeze towards the western side of Scotland and widespread frost
01:50particularly across central and northern areas. Temperatures will be
01:53lower actually into Friday morning than this morning for Scotland but it's
01:57bright for Scotland and Northern Ireland. More clouds just drifting in from the
02:01North Sea across England and Wales, eastern Scotland as well and notice some
02:05showers just lingering on across the far southeast and that pretty much sets the
02:09scene for Saturday. Showery rain across the south and again could have a sleet
02:13and snow mix associated with it and one or two wintry showers just clipping the
02:18east coast further north. Wherever you are enjoy the sunshine through today and
02:21I'll see you again soon.
