00:00 Hello there, welcome to your Thursday morning weather report from the Met Office.
00:04 Now through today we watch as rain clears many areas but lingers on towards
00:09 more eastern counties of England. In fact first thing you'll see some showers
00:13 across the north and the west of Scotland. Quite a breeze here, clearer
00:16 skies across Aberdeenshire down towards the central belt but more rain extends
00:20 from border regions right the way down across England and Wales. Northern
00:24 Ireland seeing broken cloud first thing, one or two showers just skirting the far
00:27 north there but this rain here is mostly light and patchy and we hang on to just
00:32 about some dry conditions anywhere from Essex, Suffolk down towards Kent but a
00:36 cold morning and eventually this rain will push towards these parts. So
00:41 through the morning we watch as the rain clears northern England and then Wales.
00:45 So some brightening weather, some drier conditions through the morning into the
00:49 afternoon. Showers continue across the north and west of Scotland again skirting
00:54 the far north of Northern Ireland but some brighter skies elsewhere and some
00:58 sunshine to end the day across eastern counties of England as well as Wales, the
01:02 West Country but we hang on to that cloud anywhere from East Anglia down
01:05 towards the southeast. Here temperatures only six or seven degrees Celsius under
01:09 that legacy of cloud but further southwest 11 or 12. For Scotland we could
01:14 just about see a 9 towards the west. Now through Thursday evening showers will
01:19 persist across the north and west of Scotland. Notice there are a little bit
01:23 more cloud just extending in very slowly from the west but some clearer skies
01:28 further east and temperatures falling quite quickly. We could see some pockets
01:32 of frost in rural spots as we head into the early hours of Friday morning but
01:38 many areas dry and even some mist and fog towards more southern areas with a
01:42 lighter breeze here. At the same time showers become more scattered across the
01:46 north and the west as that cloud slowly moves in. Here are your temperatures then
01:51 you can see eastern Scotland could see a frost in rural spots and much of central
01:56 and eastern areas of England also a cold morning here but at least it'll be
02:00 bright with some hazy sunshine. Now through the day the cloud will slowly
02:04 thicken all courtesy of a warm front which will bring with it some patchy
02:08 rain and drizzle particularly towards the northwest of Scotland but maybe even
02:13 further south where the cloud is thick enough across the northwest of England
02:16 southern parts of Scotland. Even West Wales seeing the odd spot or two of rain
02:20 in Northern Ireland but further southeast you'll see some brighter
02:23 weather and also dry conditions. Temperatures typically around 8 to 11
02:27 degrees Celsius and it turns milder into the weekend. See you later.
