00:00 Hello, good afternoon. There is going to be a change to much fresher weather across the
00:05 UK as a cold front is pushing south and eastwards across the UK. You can see that cold front
00:11 on the latest satellite picture from this morning. That's this thicker cloud across
00:15 north-western areas of the UK. There's a warm front ahead of that as well. That's creating
00:20 a wedge of rain across the UK and that will be sinking south and eastwards through the
00:24 day. It's driven by an area of low pressure. You can see many north and western areas have
00:29 seen some heavy rain so far this morning. That rain will sink south eastwards through
00:33 the rest of the day into central parts of England and Wales. It will be fairly cloudy
00:37 for most of us this afternoon in southern and central areas. Across the north though,
00:41 it's going to turn much drier and brighter for many areas. However, across the far north-west,
00:48 the brightness comes at the expense of some heavy and blustery showers, potentially some
00:53 hail and thunderstorms mixed in there as well. Now, ahead of this area of cloud and rain
00:58 in the south and east, it will stay fairly dry and bright through much of the day as
01:02 the temperatures here could still climb into the low 20s but for most of us will be in
01:06 the mid-teens at best with temperatures a good few degrees cooler across the north-west
01:12 of Scotland. It's going to stay fairly fresh through the rest of the week. Now, this cloud
01:17 and rain will sink into the south-east before it clears away to the far south-east through
01:20 the night and it will turn much drier and clearer through the night. So, for many of
01:24 us, it's going to be a dry and clear night but a cold night. However, notice still across
01:29 the north-west, showers are still going to be pushing in to similar areas with this brisk
01:34 north-westerly wind. So, cloud cover will hold temperatures up a little bit more across
01:38 the north-west but for many areas, particularly where skies stay the clearest, we could see
01:43 temperatures dropping down into the low single figures rurally. There is a risk of a touch
01:48 of grass frost for some very sheltered spots. So, definitely a fresh start to the day to
01:53 come tomorrow but I think for most of us, it's going to be a fairly bright start, particularly
01:58 if you cross the south and east. The cloud will thicken through the afternoon. There's
02:02 a risk of some showers here and there across the Midlands, parts of Wales, northern England
02:06 but I think the most frequent and heaviest showers will be further north and west into
02:10 Northern Ireland and across the north and west of Scotland where we could see some further
02:15 thunderstorms and some hail, potentially some snow falling over the highest ground of Scotland
02:20 as well. And so, because it's turning much colder, temperatures will be a good few degrees
02:25 below average, 12 or 13 degrees at best in the north-west, 15 or 16, possibly a scraping
02:31 of 17 or 18 in the south and east in the best of the sunshine. So, if you are in any sheltered
02:36 sunshine across the south coast, it's not going to feel too bad but definitely cooler
02:40 than it has been of late. Now, those showers are going to continue across north-western
02:45 areas all the way through Wednesday evening and into Thursday. There's very little in
02:48 the way of change on the way for the next couple of days. It will stay fairly dry and
02:52 clear for many southern and central areas but again, that will lead us into another
02:57 fairly cool night tomorrow night. Make sure you keep up to date with all your latest forecasts
