00:00 Hello, welcome to your National Afternoon Weather Update from the Met Office.
00:04 Sunny spells for some, but also some heavy showers and some of these are going to be
00:08 turning thundery too.
00:10 We do have a weather warning in force, a yellow thunderstorm warning valid across parts of
00:14 Wales and the south west of England with slow moving heavy showers and also some thunderstorms
00:20 developing.
00:21 Cloudy across parts of the south east with sunny spells, but further towards the north
00:25 that's where the best of the sunshine is going to be through today with a few showers developing
00:30 across parts of Dumfries and Galloway and also the Cairngorms later on.
00:35 Low clouds still lingering across parts of eastern Scotland so feeling cooler here, but
00:40 elsewhere feeling pleasant with highs of up to 20 or 23 degrees.
00:46 So through this evening we're still seeing some showers breaking out across parts of
00:49 Scotland.
00:50 Those heavy showers across the south west of England and Wales will gradually ease through
00:54 the night and then largely a dry night to come into Sunday morning.
00:59 But a lot of low clouds developing especially across eastern parts of Scotland and down
01:04 across East Anglia and the south east of England.
01:07 But isolated mist and fog patches developing elsewhere underneath any clearer skies.
01:12 And temperatures here will fall into the single figures, but in the towns and cities generally
01:16 holding up at around 10 or 11 degrees.
01:20 So that does lead a quite murky start to Sunday morning for some of us, especially across
01:25 parts of Scotland in the east, but also across the south east of England.
01:29 Hopefully that low cloud should start burning away into the late morning to leave plenty
01:34 of sunshine on offer through Sunday.
01:37 We'll see a few showers developing perhaps across the south west and also for parts of
01:42 Scotland, especially over the higher ground.
01:44 But quite cloudy here and again still holding on to quite a lot of low cloud, especially
01:49 across that north eastern coast.
01:52 But plenty of sunshine on offer for most of us.
01:55 A dry day, a warm day too with highs of 23, possibly 24 degrees.
02:00 But notice a cooler feel underneath that cloud further the north and east you go.
02:06 So through the rest of Sunday afternoon, plenty of evening sunshine on offer to end the weekend.
02:12 But once again, a bit of a rinse and repeat that we'll start to see some low cloud moving
02:17 in from the North Sea and coming into coastal areas into Sunday evening and overnight.
02:23 Once again, Monday looks to be a largely dry day with sunny spells.
02:27 But for more details on that, be sure to hit subscribe on YouTube and don't miss an update.
02:32 I'll catch you soon.
02:33 Bye bye.
02:33 Bye-bye.
