00:00 Good morning. Welcome to the Mayday Bank holiday weekend, which promises some places some warm sunshine,
00:06 but there will also be a fair few showers around as well. Quite a grey start across parts of Northern Ireland, Southern Scotland, Northern
00:13 England and North Wales. Rain and drizzle on and off here through the morning should ease off a little bit through the day. Again,
00:19 North West Scotland doing okay for dry and bright weather. Not quite as warm here as it was yesterday,
00:24 but we should still see temperatures into the mid to high teens. A brighter day over the Midlands and East Anglia, much more sunshine
00:31 here compared to yesterday. South Wales and Southern England also seeing some decent spells of sunshine through today.
00:37 Just a chance of one or two showers in the far southeast later on. In the sunny spells, temperatures getting up 17, 18,
00:44 maybe 19 degrees. But feeling cool where we've got that stubborn cloud over parts of Northern England, Northern Ireland,
00:51 particularly the outbreaks of rain and drizzle. And quite a bit of mist and low cloud just
00:55 clinging to the coasts across eastern Scotland and up towards the northern isles.
01:00 That's going to be a feature of the weather through Sunday as well.
01:02 Still a bit of rain and drizzle around this evening, particularly over parts of South West Scotland. One or two heavy showers breaking out over
01:09 the mountains of Scotland through the afternoon into the evening. For many though, it'll be a dry night.
01:14 We'll keep some decent clear skies across parts of the south. Notice the cloud though spilling up potentially down towards the
01:20 southwest. Again, it'll be pretty chilly where we've got those clear skies over central and southern areas. Temperatures well down into single figures.
01:28 And for a freezing in some rural spots. On to Sunday's weather and again for a good chunk of the country tomorrow,
01:35 looking dry and bright for the most part. Still pretty cloudy over southern Scotland, far north of England.
01:40 And again, where it brightens up, that could spark some heavy showers across parts of Scotland. Again,
01:46 particularly over the hills and mountains. Something to bear in mind if you are going up into the mountains through the day today.
01:52 Again, around the coast in the northeast could be quite grey and murky.
01:56 An increasing chance through tomorrow of seeing some cloud and showers breaking out across the southwest.
02:02 But as I say, for many it'll be a dry day, probably a brighter day for Northern Ireland. A bit more sunshine poking through here.
02:08 Could see 15 or 16 and with some sunny spells over England and Wales, 18, maybe 19 degrees Celsius.
02:14 So sunshine making such a big difference, of course, at this time of year. And again, where we see it on Monday,
02:21 it'll feel pleasantly warm after a chilly start.
02:23 We are again looking at that mix of sunshine and showers. A few more showers across Scotland during the course of Monday.
02:29 Again, misty and murky potentially on some coasts towards the northeast.
02:33 Greater chance of some thicker cloud and a bit of
02:37 outbreaks of rain across southernmost counties of England. Still a bit of uncertainty about that.
02:41 So if you've got plans on Monday in the south, do keep up to date with the forecast.
02:45 Again, where we see some sunshine over the Midlands, eastern England, 18, maybe 19, perhaps even 20 degrees Celsius.
02:52 But there will be, as I say, a fair few showers breaking out through the afternoon and evening.
