00:00 Good morning, welcome to our latest weather update from the Met Office.
00:04 So, low pressure has brought plenty of showers over the past couple of days and that's going
00:08 to continue as we head through the rest of Tuesday.
00:10 Further outbreaks of rain though arriving from the southwest through the early hours
00:14 of this morning.
00:15 There will be some sunshine across parts of Scotland and north east England, however,
00:18 this soon replaced by this band of rain pushing its way north and eastwards in towards this
00:23 afternoon.
00:24 Some heavy showers then developing across parts of Northern Ireland, Wales, southern
00:27 and central parts of England and these could turn quite heavy in places with some hail
00:31 and thunder mixed in too.
00:34 Temperatures around about average for the time of year, 17, 18, maybe 19 degrees across
00:38 the south and likely to feel quite muggy and humid under that cloud and rain further north.
00:44 Through the rest of Tuesday, we're into this evening, that area of rain continues to push
00:48 its way north and eastwards, perhaps lingering for a time across parts of Scotland and we
00:52 could see some further outbreaks of rain across the southern half of the UK with plenty of
00:56 showers still around through the first part of the night, however, gradually starting
00:59 to turn a little drier as we head through the early hours of Wednesday morning.
01:03 It'll be a mild night across the board, particularly in those towns and cities, temperatures around
01:08 11 or 12 degrees but under some clearer spells in some rural spots perhaps dropping just
01:12 a little lower.
01:14 It does mean that Wednesday starts a dry day for most of us, plenty of sunny spells through
01:18 the first part of the morning, perhaps a little cloudier across parts of Northern Ireland
01:22 and western Scotland but as we head through Wednesday afternoon is when we start to see
01:25 those showers redeveloping.
01:27 Again these are likely to turn heaviest across eastern parts of Scotland, north east England,
01:32 again some hail and thunder mixed in so we could see some localised flooding in places
01:36 but there will still be some sunny spells between those showers.
01:39 And temperatures still round about average for the time of year, maybe up a touch compared
01:42 to Tuesday, 19 or 20 degrees in the south and feeling a little fresher further north
01:47 with a northerly breeze, so maybe 15 or 16 degrees here.
