00:00Hello, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. So, changeable conditions
00:05are expected to continue as we head through the rest of the weekend, some showers and
00:09outbreaks of rain as well, all thanks to low pressure very much in charge as we go through
00:13the rest of Saturday and Sunday. Into the new week though, we see a ridge of high pressure
00:17developing from the west. Some weather fronts still pushing in from the northwest though,
00:20toppling over the top of that area of high pressure, so perhaps a bit more cloud and
00:24rain here. But for the most of us, high pressure does mean some more settled conditions as
00:28we go into next week. Back to the rest of today though, and there is still quite a lot
00:32of wet weather around, particularly across parts of Northern Ireland, western parts of
00:36Scotland. A little bit drier across southern parts of England and Wales, but where we do
00:40see some sunshine, we are likely to see some showers bubbling up. And these could be quite
00:44heavy and thundery in places, perhaps some hail mixed in too. And with those heavy downpours,
00:48there is likely to be some surface water issues, so some localised flooding is possible in
00:53places. It is still going to be quite mild out there, so we do see the sunshine feeling
00:57really quite pleasant, 16, 17, perhaps 18 degrees across southern areas. And even in
01:01the north, temperatures a little above average for the time of year. As we then go through
01:06the rest of Saturday evening, those showers across central areas pushing their way northwards
01:10and perhaps merging to some longer spells of rain for a time. But across Northern Ireland,
01:14western parts of Scotland, that rain gradually starting to ease, so turning a little drier
01:18here into the early hours of Sunday morning. Outbreaks of rain continuing though for northern
01:22parts of England, eastern parts of Scotland, so quite a damp start to the day on Sunday
01:26here. But for southern areas, perhaps turning a little bit drier, but there is still quite
01:30a lot of cloud around overnight and that likely to lead to quite a mild night. Temperatures
01:34in the south perhaps holding up in the double figures for some. So a bit of a brighter start
01:39across southern parts of Wales, southern and eastern parts of England, perhaps some sunny
01:42spells developing. And across western parts of Northern Ireland and northwest Scotland
01:46too, there may be some sunshine through the morning. Across eastern parts of Scotland,
01:50northern England, still remaining rather quite cloudy, but perhaps that rain gradually starting
01:54to ease through the morning. And while we do see the sunshine across the southeast,
01:57there will be some more showers bubbling up again. These could be quite heavy and thundery
02:00in places, even some hail mixed in too. So perhaps some surface water issues again across
02:05the very far southeast. Temperatures are still well above average for the time of year for
02:10most of us, 17, 18, perhaps 19 degrees. So again, feeling really quite pleasant in that
02:14sunshine in the south and even in the north, 10, 11, perhaps 12 degrees. So just a little
02:19bit above average here. As we then go through Sunday evening, still remaining quite cloudy
02:24across northern England for a time. The showers across the southeast perhaps gradually starting
02:28to push their way south and westwards as we go into the start of Monday morning. And then
02:32across Northern Ireland, western parts of Scotland turning much drier with plenty of
02:36clear spells developing, all thanks to that ridge of high pressure that's building in
02:40from the west into the start of the new week, bringing us some more settled conditions.
