00:00 Hello there. After a wet few days there is some dry weather on the cards to end the week
00:04 and into the weekend for some of us. But through the rest of the afternoon there's still some
00:08 very heavy rain to come. The heaviest rain through this morning you can see on the radar
00:13 has been across Wales and into the south west. That band of rain has pushed eastwards over
00:18 the past few hours and behind it we are seeing some very heavy showers still developing across
00:23 Wales into Northern Ireland and north western Scotland. But it is generally turning drier
00:28 across western areas as that band of very heavy rain pushes into the south coast and
00:32 into the south east through the rest of the day. That band of heavy rain is a weather
00:37 front. It marks the difference between milder air ahead of it and colder air behind it.
00:44 So once the rain does clear it will start to feel colder as temperatures fall much closer
00:48 to the seasonal average for this time of year. We get a westerly breeze developing across
00:53 the west. So that will bring clearer and drier conditions to north and western areas through
00:57 the rest of the afternoon but we will still see some showers. Across the south and east
01:01 though that rain will persist turning quite heavy through rush hour. There's rain and
01:06 wind warnings in force across the south and east so there will probably be some travel
01:09 disruption and some tricky travelling conditions. However it will be turning colder from the
01:15 west so temperatures will be much closer to seasonal average by the afternoon. That leads
01:20 us into a much colder night than recently but with the strength of the breeze any frost
01:24 should be fairly limited by tomorrow morning. It will also drag in some showers across western
01:30 areas, parts of Wales, northern England and parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland seeing
01:33 the most frequent showers through tonight. Across the east though it should stay largely
01:37 dry once that rain does clear this evening. So it will be a colder start tomorrow. It
01:42 could be down as low as -3 in the north, -1 in the south but as I said the strength of
01:47 the breeze should limit how much frost we see. But it will certainly feel colder than
01:51 recently to start the day. There should be some early sunshine though in the south and
01:55 east across the morning but showers will push in from the west reaching eastern areas by
02:01 the afternoon. In the west though the showers will be most frequent. These could merge into
02:05 longer spells of rain and bring a risk of hail and thunder through the afternoon. So
02:09 potentially some fairly unpleasant showers. In between the showers though there will still
02:14 be some decent sunshine most long lived across the east. And it's not going to feel too bad
02:18 in the sunshine despite the cooler temperatures. Highs of 7 or 8 are around average for the
02:23 time of year. Those showers will die down as we head into Saturday morning so it will
02:28 be a much drier start to the weekend though we could see some fairly extensive mist and
02:31 fog developing. You can find more details on your full weekend forecast with our latest
02:36 update on YouTube. See you later.
