00:00Hello again. Rain is on the way. It's been a fine start to the day across parts of the east but the cloud and the rain further west is steadily marching in.
00:09Here it is on the satellite image. You can see the radar there showing that rain spreading into Northern Ireland for first thing and now into parts of Wales and southwest England.
00:17Some heavier bursts in there, the brighter colours as well.
00:20Meanwhile, across eastern England, northern Scotland has been a fine and sunny start.
00:24The cloud will spill in here through the rest of the afternoon but most of the day dry in eastern England and across much of northern Scotland.
00:32Elsewhere, though, it is turning damp and not just wet but windy too.
00:36Very gusty conditions through parts of Wales, southwest England and also across Northern Ireland.
00:42Usually gusty for the time of year, particularly through parts of North Devon, North Wales and that east coast of Northern Ireland along the coast as well as inland.
00:51Further east, the breeze will be picking up but not quite as strong here.
00:56Actually, it feels a bit warmer here than recent days, 18, maybe 19 Celsius with the help of that early brightness.
01:02But further west, we started chilly, the clouds now come in and the rain is setting in as well.
01:08So some places, say across Northern Ireland, struggling to get above 12 or 13 degrees and many areas in the west only 15 or 16 and feeling even colder with the wind and the rain.
01:18That rain will spread steadily through the central belt of Scotland for the evening, Russia, then into eastern England and eventually it will crop up in northern Scotland as well through the night.
01:28Easing in many other areas, although further pulses of heavy rain are likely across Northern Ireland.
01:33One or two showers elsewhere, but for many, it will turn dry through the second half of the night.
01:37Staying fairly breezy, although the winds in the west won't be as strong as they will be this afternoon.
01:43All in all, though, much, much milder night than recent nights.
01:46Temperatures have been not far off freezing in quite a few places to start recent mornings, but we'll start Friday in double digits for the vast majority.
01:54On to the details for Friday, and it's basically a showery day.
01:57The main exception to that will be northern Scotland, where it won't be showers.
02:00It'll just be fairly persistent rain and quite gusty easterly winds.
02:04Elsewhere, many will start dry and bright, but the showers will get going really from mid to late morning onwards.
02:10They'll tend to zip through on a fairly brisk breeze.
02:12So one of those days where one minute it's fine, the next minute you're caught in a heavy, heavy downpour.
02:17When the sun's out, though, it is June and we've changed the air now.
02:21So coming in from the west or the southwest, it is at least a little warmer.
02:25So when the sun does come out, temperatures will be a little bit higher, about closer to average, if you like, 19, perhaps even a 20 Celsius.
02:32Obviously, when the showers come along, those temperatures will take a dip and it'll feel cooler where it stays quite blustery, particularly across the south.
02:39And with gusty winds across the north of Scotland also.
02:43We'll keep a fair few showers going into Friday evening as well.
02:46So if you're heading out, bear that in mind.
02:48You'll probably need an umbrella for Friday night and you're going to need that umbrella handy through the weekend as well.
02:53Because you can see all the cloud and the showers are circulating around an area of low pressure.
02:59And this low pressure is staying for the weekend, whether you like it or not, sticking around through Saturday and Sunday.
03:06Close to the low, there'll be slow moving showers either side of it.
03:10There'll be some fairly brisk, heavy showers moving through on a gusty wind.
03:14Perhaps as the low edges further north, we'll see fewer showers in the south on Sunday.
03:20But be prepared for heavy showers throughout this weekend.
03:24A full detailed weekend forecast will be available on YouTube on Thursday afternoon.
