The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Thursday, Feb. 6, that three weather systems—the shear line, northeast monsoon (amihan), and the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ)—will bring rain to most parts of the country.

00:00We still haven't monitored any typhoons or low-pressure areas inside and outside of our Philippine Area of Responsibility.
00:12But we have three weather systems that are affecting our country right now.
00:17First is the return of the shear line or the hot and cold wind that is affecting the May Visayas.
00:26Second is the Intertropical Convergence Zone or ITCZ that we expect will bring rains especially here in the eastern section of Mindanao.
00:37Third is the North-East Monsoon or the cold wind that is continuously blowing in the May Luzon.
00:45For the time being, we can see that there are heavy rains here in Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, and also in Romblon.
01:00This is the end of the shear line.
01:02Meanwhile, we also expect heavy rains here in Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, Quezon, and also in the southern part of the Picol Region.
01:17For Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, we expect heavy rains until heavy rains with isolated light rains.
01:26The water temperature for Metro Manila is 23 to 31 degrees Celsius.
01:30Lauag is 22 to 33 degrees Celsius.
01:33For Tuguegarao, we expect 20 to 28 degrees Celsius.
01:37Baguio, 13 to 24 degrees Celsius.
01:40For Tagaytay, 20 to 29 degrees Celsius.
01:43And Legazpi, 24 to 29 degrees Celsius.
01:48For Palawan, we also expect the effect of the Northeast Monsoon.

02:28For the southern part of Mindanao, we expect clear skies but there is a high chance of localized thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.

02:49For Cebu, 25 to 30 degrees Celsius.
02:52For Tacloban, 24 to 29 degrees Celsius.
02:55For Cagandeoro, 25 to 30 degrees Celsius.
02:59We expect 24 to 33 degrees Celsius for Zamboanga and 24 to 31 degrees Celsius for Davao.
03:07Earlier at 5 am, we released a weather advisory for the shear line and Intertropical Convergence Zone.
03:16We expect moderate to heavy or 50 to 100 mm of rain for the shear line and Intertropical Convergence Zone
03:25here in Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Dinagat Islands, Sorigao del Norte, and Sorigao del Sur.
03:31This is for today.
03:33For tomorrow, we expect moderate to heavy rain for Katanduanes, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, Northern Samar, Samar, and May Eastern Samar.
03:52The shear line will rise again and we expect heavy to intense or 100 to 200 mm of rain here in Quezon.
04:03We expect moderate to heavy here in Laguna, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Marinduque, and Oriental Mindoro.
04:14We also have a high gale warning for the northern and eastern coasts of Katanduanes and Northern Samar,
04:21the eastern coasts of Eastern Samar.
04:23That is why we are warning our fellow countrymen that it is dangerous here in the coastal waters.
