00:00Emanuel back. What's up Emanuel? We were, you know, Brock Purdy's been a focus of the conversation today
00:05and I watched that game last night and I'm thinking, boy, I think they got bigger issues than Brock Purdy.
00:13I'll just let it there to see how you would respond to that.
00:18Seventh biggest issue. There you go. You got me? Yes, sir. All you.
00:22Yeah, I said he may be the fifth, sixth, seventh biggest issue. They got way bigger issues than Brock Purdy. Number one,
00:30schematically, Kyle Shanahan's gonna have to start to do more.
00:33You can't be an offensive wizard and only put up six points in a must-win game.
00:38That cannot happen. Furthermore, we all watched the game yesterday. If Debo catches that slant, are we having this conversation?
00:45You can't call for attention and hang up. And Debo Samuel called for attention when he said, hey, I'm not struggling,
00:52I'm just not getting the ball. Is that true?
00:54DeJuan Jennings has been an overachiever all season.
00:57You gotta catch that rock if Brock Purdy hits you on that slant and protects you from the post safety
01:01coming to take your head off. And let's not even talk about players quitting on the team.
01:07So Brock Purdy,
01:09he does have limitations that are even more glaring in inclement weather.
01:14Like, I got secondhand embarrassment when he had to jump to throw the football because he couldn't throw it over the line.
01:19Truth be told, I did get secondhand embarrassment. I was like, dang it, like, ah, like, ah.
01:24Like, that hurt my heart to see because it was just a reminder of his physical limitations. But, um,
01:30but they got bigger issues than Brock.
01:32Ajo, you know, we feel how we feel in this world, right? And I'm telling you as a fan,
01:36I was turned off when Debo did what he did in a year where he doesn't look like his old self.
01:41But to say that after the team puts up 38 points and won the game for that matter,
01:46but then to drop that pass that you talk about, there was a touchdown. Has he, he's been rendered ineffective.
01:52How much is it him or is it Kyle that's got to go in the lab?
01:57Because I'm looking at Debo and PFF, if you're into that, everybody's saying Debo can't beat man coverage.
02:02You're paying this man almost 30 million.
02:05With all due respect, um, Debo's, and I'll say this as if Debo was listening, Debo's best attribute is not beating man coverage.
02:14Take that for what it's worth. Debo, obviously him and I have had our run-ins.
02:17I respect the hell out of Debo's game. I respect Debo a lot as a football player.
02:22Um, you know, he's DM'd me to communicate based upon some things I've said critically about him.
02:26So I will simply say Debo's best attribute is not beating man coverage.
02:31Um, but you cannot under any circumstance drop the football on a huge play in a huge game after saying you're not struggling.
02:40Furthermore, do y'all realize since Debo Samuel punched the, uh, the long snapper Tepper,
02:45he has 22 catches on that, 22 yards a game. He's never had more than 25 yards since that play.
02:50So that's why I said what I said after he punched the long snapper. Debo, are you perfect?
02:56Are you?
02:57Because since that, the Niners,
03:00they've lacked the leadership that they need to take them through the course of the season.
03:05I suggest every starter falls into one of two categories this off-season. Get healthy or get humble.
03:12Get healthy or get humble. Fred Warner, get healthy. McCaffrey, get healthy, big dog. Get healthy.
03:18Travarius Ward, emotionally, man, heal up, bro. You've been through a lot. Get healthy. Debo,
03:23you might need to get humble. Pride comes before the fall and statistically the numbers have fallen with all due respect.
03:30Even in the touches that he has gotten, he averages six touches a game this year. Last year, he averaged 6.5.
03:35So he's getting half a touch less a game. He's averaging two yards less per those touches.
03:4111 yards per touch last year, nine yards a touch this year. So with that being said,
03:46pride comes before the fall. I think the egos got way too big this year.
03:51Interesting. Let me throw two more players in there to get your opinions on. Trent Williams and Nick Bosa.
03:57What do they, they got to get humble or get healthy?
04:02To me, I think Trent probably has to get humble a little bit. Trent's a dog. First ballot Hall of Famer,
04:07he a dude. But at the point in which I think Trent thought he could just roll out to training camp and be aight,
04:13bro, it's hard to maintain 350 pounds in a healthy manner.
04:17And so you don't want to go to training camp and you think you can roll your
04:21350 pound freakazoid body onto the football field and not have any injury issues. Now again,
04:27what Trent is dealing with off of the football field,
04:30I totally empathize with that. And as a human being, Trent more than anything, like take care of your family,
04:35take care of your loved ones, take care of your heart, take care of your emotions. Like first and foremost,
04:40take care of all of that. Before the off the field tragedy struck Trent
04:45on the field, it's very hard to maintain that size. He can't afford, I think, to miss training camp.
04:51He's just, he's older. I think he's 36. He's bigger.
04:54So I think Trent get emotionally healthy, get physically healthy,
04:59but I think these Niners have to go back to work like they're rookies.
05:03I think they thought they could roll out of bed and get back to a championship game.
05:07They have to go back to work like they are rookies. Wow.
05:10Acho, my partner and I got a saying on the show, we react to new information.
05:15And last year I said, Purdy, give them a blank check, 60, reset the market. The owner said it.
05:21But now my partner had mentioned last off season, I want to see him without the weaponry. I'm like, nobody's hurt.
05:27It's all good. We saw it. Acho,
05:29what do you see with Brock Purdy? And is there a scenario that I brought up that they could play hardball finally
05:35and say, come back and play on your last year. Do you see that?
05:40They can play hardball. It comes down to at what cost. What I see with Brock Purdy, and many people have to remember,
05:46December 7th, 2020. Remember that date, December 7th, 2020.
05:51It changed the trajectory of the Niners franchise. A player on that team told me in confidence,
05:56December 7th, 2020 was the day the Niners played the Buffalo Bills.
06:01Josh Allen was on the other side of the field.
06:03Kyle Shanahan saw what Josh Allen was doing. Then he looked at his quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo, and he said, I need more.
06:10So after December 7th, 2020, what did the Niners do in the draft?
06:14They went and acquired a 6'4", you're exactly right, 225 pound physical specimen, because they said we don't have enough.
06:22And now Trey Lance didn't end up being enough.
06:25If you're watching Brock Purdy play yesterday and he's got to make two jump passes,
06:29and then on the other side of the field, you're watching Matthew Stafford. Matthew didn't play a crazy game yesterday,
06:34but you saw what he did the week before. Are you sitting there saying to yourself,
06:38I'm going to pay Brock Purdy 55, 60 million dollars. Y'all know I defend Brock Purdy more than anybody on national television.
06:44I think he has the heart of a lion. I think he's incredibly mentally tough.
06:47But at the point in which you're watching the physical limitations, do you feel comfortable going to war
06:53knowing other teams are bringing Matthew Stafford to war and other teams are bringing Josh Allen's to war?
06:59Do you feel comfortable going to battle if Brock Purdy is your guy and they got Josh Allen's walking around here?
07:05That's the question. Last one for you, Manuel, because I know you squeezed this in and you're on a time constraint.
07:12Devondre Campbell essentially quit on the team, walked off the field. Hey, take out the word essentially. Okay.
07:19Well, I'm not a pro. You are. So you go ahead and be strong. I mean, have you ever seen anything like that before?
07:27Not in this situation. Antonio Brown, obviously, he quit on the team. But radio listeners,
07:32please hear me when I say this. The Bucks wanted A.B. to go into the game.
07:38The Niners needed Devondre Campbell to go into the game. And there is a difference.
07:44Brett Warner had gotten hurt earlier on in the game. He went back in.
07:48Greenlaw had gotten hurt. He did not go back in. I think it was D, the linebacker.
07:52He messed up his neck in the first quarter so he couldn't go back in. Devondre, we
07:57needed you to go into the game and you quit because of a bruised ego.
08:04Fred Warner's playing with a broken ankle. McCaffrey went to Germany dealing with bilateral Achilles tendinitis.
08:10Traverius Ward lost a child. George Kittle has tendons held together by string.
08:16Dre Greenlaw came back after 10 months and you don't play because of a bruise, because of a bruised ego.
08:23I've never seen such selfishness. I say he's a traitor. I call him Judas.
08:29You're dining at the table with the team, but you're planning their death.
08:32You're dining at pregame meal at 115 Pacific time. You eat pregame meal four hours before kickoff
08:37and you're planning the Niners death. And worst of all, before the game on his Instagram,
08:43and I apologize listeners because I'm passionate, before the game on his Instagram, he essentially precluded it.
08:49He said, hey, this team has been playing with me. He Instagram posted it. I think it's instant deleted.
08:55So you knew you were gonna do this. Yeah. And a must win game. And here's my thing, bro.
09:01Hey, I'll tell you real quick. Is that on Kyle at all? Is that on Kyle at all? No. Okay.
09:06I don't know. If you didn't want to play, do what Devin White did for the Eagles.
09:10Devin White for the Eagles this year, they gave him a one year, $4 million deal. He didn't start.
09:14He didn't start during the course of the season.
09:16So he didn't even travel with the team one week and the Eagles cut him.
09:19But at least if you say before the game, I'm not playing, they can activate another player.
09:25They need that roster spot, bro.
09:28Remember you got 53 on the active roster.
09:30You can only dress 47 on game day for the listeners that might be a little less familiar.
09:34So Campbell, if you don't want to play, we'll keep you inactive. We'll activate somebody else.
09:39That way we can play a plan again.
09:42Or we can play number 45 and one of the others practice squad linebackers can run down on special teams.
09:47Instead, we got a starting linebacker running down on putt, running down on kickoff and trying to cover a hook curl drop.
09:53It is incredibly selfish, disgusting, disrespectful.
09:57Wow, Emmanuel, thank you so much for joining us as always, man. And one more time.
10:01I really appreciate you squeezing us in because I know you're busy today. Thank you so much, man. Thanks.
10:06It's my brother. We'll talk soon. All right, man, man, you'll watch.
