00:00Brian, you don't say one more.
00:02He brings the perspective.
00:04Yeah, I... I...
00:06They both have a great point.
00:08Get off me, text line.
00:10He's truly one of a kind.
00:12That is wild.
00:13Oh my God.
00:15And he's doing a great job.
00:17I need you to man up and say what you really want to say.
00:20Simon, you're doing a great job.
00:22Turner.
00:23And together, they are Stiney and Guru.
00:27On 95-7, the game.
00:32Jacobs, no shot.
00:34Maryland forward.
00:35Touchdown again.
00:36Number three for Jacobs and Green Bay.
00:43Oh boy.
00:44Yeah.
00:45Kevin Burkhart, Fox Sports.
00:49One of Josh Jacobs' three touchdowns.
00:5249ers, they get beat pretty bad.
00:5638-10.
00:57Go ahead, Gu.
01:00I hate that drop.
01:02Let me just...
01:03I didn't lose.
01:04I missed it.
01:05We haven't spoken yet about the game.
01:07We purposely didn't give our thoughts to each other before the game.
01:11So...
01:12I'm sorry.
01:13This morning...
01:14Go ahead, Gu.
01:15All right.
01:16So, I'm not going to come in here and I don't have the power,
01:19but I do have a show with you and Evan for four hours a day, 20 hours a week.
01:24And I'm not going to come in here and be blinded to the fact that
01:27Kyle Shanahan has not built something here during his tenure.
01:31He's built a bully, right?
01:33So much so that they played the two Super Bowls,
01:35four straight trips to the NFC Championship game,
01:38but now partner with injuries and the fact that they weren't able to cash in.
01:44I was the one guy that kind of saw the asteroid before everybody else,
01:49and I kept saying, tomorrow's not promised.
01:53You know, it could just be attrition.
01:55It's not just automatic you're going to get back,
01:58and I feel like that's what this season is now with injuries.
02:02I'm not mad at Brandon Allen's performance yesterday.
02:05Stani, I think the game was lost in so many places,
02:08but my biggest takeaway, you're going to laugh,
02:11and I've been kind of consistent with this is,
02:14okay, Kyle Shanahan, this is where I call you up front.
02:19How the hell can you not get Jordan made?
02:22I'll forget Garindo.
02:24How can you not find a way to get him more involved?
02:28And moving forward, Stani, with what I'm seeing from McCaffrey,
02:32I would split the carries.
02:34That's where I'm at.
02:36I'm not coming down McCaffrey's road, but also to the defensive coordinator.
02:43I don't know what's going on, Stani.
02:45I don't know if the players have quit on themselves
02:48or they quit on him, but those penalties,
02:51two back-to-back 12 men in the huddle,
02:55that didn't look like the Niner team I'm accustomed to,
02:59and even then in the second half, it was still a game,
03:03but they couldn't do anything and get out their own way.
03:07And Debo Samuel, wherever you're at, listen,
03:10because I know you've got a head start,
03:12I would return that C back to my coaching staff
03:15because you, again, were a no-show, let a ball go right through your hands,
03:21it was an interception on Allen's ledger,
03:24and after the game, you have the audacity to dip
03:29and say you don't want to talk?
03:31That's what hurt me most, if I'm a Niner fan, about yesterday, Stani.
03:36Yeah, I think if I were a Niner fan, what would bother me most
03:39is just the way they played so sloppily.
03:43I mean, they couldn't get out of their own way,
03:46there were penalties galore.
03:49I mean, if I have a question, it would be...
03:53Give it to me.
03:55Can you really play a backup quarterback who's got a broken finger on his left hand?
04:00What was that?
04:02And he fumbles twice and throws a pick.
04:04I mean, I don't know.
04:08I don't know.
04:09You know what's funny?
04:11Everybody's talking about the injuries.
04:14Oh, the injuries, this, that, and the other.
04:17Let me approach it from a different standpoint.
04:20You ready?
04:21Yeah.
04:22Let me run down a list of guys who've been healthy.
04:27You ready?
04:28Wow, okay.
04:29Brock Purdy has missed one game this year.
04:32George Kittle, 9 of 11.
04:35Juwan Jennings has played 9 of 11.
04:38David Cech has been healthy the whole season.
04:41Bosa missed one game so far this year.
04:44Warner, he's been healthy for all 11.
04:47Lenore, McKivitts, Pooney, Brendel, they've played every game this year.
04:53Trent Williams played every game but one this year.
04:56Malik Collins, Burford, they've been healthy.
04:59Debo Samuel, he's been healthy.
05:02There are enough names on that list of players who've been healthy
05:07to get this team to be better than 5 and 6.
05:10That's the way I look at it.
05:12The injuries have not helped, but injuries happen to every team
05:16and it's a matter of how you deal with them.
05:19I don't think there's any doubt that a guy here and a guy there being out
05:25has absolutely flummoxed Kyle Shanahan in terms of how to play
05:31when you're down a player or two.
05:36Yesterday was a little bit different, but let's not get it mixed up.
05:42The San Francisco 49ers, that game yesterday was very similar
05:49to about every game they've played this year.
05:52They're 5 and 6. They're still looking to play a complete game.
05:55They might even be looking to play their first complete half.
05:59They have not played well.
06:01They haven't shown any inclination that this thing's going to be turned around.
06:06Now there's only one thing to do, and that's you keep playing, you try,
06:12but it seems like at this point they need to do one thing,
06:16and that's catch lightning in a bottle,
06:18and there's never a guarantee that that's going to happen.
06:21Wow. Donnie, I'm not mad at you, and I appreciate the homework.
06:24The bottom line is this was the third game in the last four
06:27that a Kyle Shanahan coached team.
06:29Get this, Donnie, had more than nine penalties.
06:32So, okay, I know you're coming in and you're hampered.
06:35You don't have the top-tier talent in certain positions,
06:38but what about the mindset?
06:40What about the next man up?
06:42And Josh Jacobs took their soul from the outset.
06:46They could not stop him.
06:48And, Donnie, you're looking at the game and the final score,
06:51and it didn't even feel that close.
06:53And, you know, I was listening to the guys this morning,
06:56and it's all psychology what type of fan you are,
06:59but the crazy thing about where the Niners are in this season
07:03with, what, seven games left, six games left,
07:06they're one game out of first place for the division.
07:09But I'm wondering, and I'm hearing the calls to the roast this morning,
07:12Donnie, and I'm online last night.
07:15Depending on who you are and how you think and you're wired,
07:18do you even want this version of the Niners in the playoffs
07:22or to win a division?
07:24I'm a lover, not a fighter.
07:26I'm Malcolm X.
07:27By any means necessary, but I just didn't recognize this team yesterday,
07:33just from the tactical standpoint.
07:37Stani, what's up with all the penalties?
07:39Twelve men in the backfield, twelve men on defense back-to-back,
07:43and I know Kyle said, well, one time they tricked us.
07:46The league needs to fix.
07:47But, dude, you guys weren't singing that song when you were going to four
07:51straight NFC Championship games.
07:53I just don't know if you start thinking about shutting down guys that are out
07:58that are your future if it's that dire or you feel like you can't win.
08:03That's the million-dollar question because you and I can talk about it all day.
08:06What do they feel?
08:08You can't shut anything down because they have too many veteran players
08:13who you have to give them the last crack at it, I think.
08:18And you know what I don't subscribe to?
08:21Shutting people down this year so that Trent Williams will be fresh next year
08:27and McCaffrey will be fresh next year.
08:29I don't buy that one iota.
08:32There's only one thing this team can try to do, and that's beat Buffalo next week
08:36and get to 6-6 and see then where the chips fall.
08:41But I'm not for resting guys at this point because you're too far into the season.
08:48But I don't think there's any 49er fan out there that now believes
08:53this thing's definitely going to be turned around.
08:56I get the hope.
08:57Just look at the schedule.
08:58I get the hope.
08:59I get the notion that one win can start a winning streak.
09:04But boy, this reminds me of a little bit like the Warriors last year
09:09where they teased you a little bit and they won 46 games,
09:15but they didn't make the playoffs.
09:17And when it was all said and done, they just didn't play well enough
09:20to make the playoffs.
09:21And it just feels like that's where this season is headed
09:24for the San Francisco 49ers.
09:27But this is what we do on a Monday.
09:30We open it up to 49er fans.
09:32Overreaction Monday.
09:33We talk about where this team is going and what happened yesterday.
09:39And I don't know.
09:40Is it possible to have an overreaction to this loss yesterday, today?
09:46I mean, if you say this team's done, I don't think that's an overreaction anymore.
09:51I really don't.
09:53They're 5-6.
09:54They haven't beaten a winning team.
09:55Let's just think about the Devo run of the second half.
09:5787 yards negated, Stony.
09:59I know woulda, coulda, shoulda, but when did they start becoming
10:04a team infested with penalties?
