00:00Uh, when I brought this up, and I'm about to bring it up again, it's not the Jonathan
00:04Kaminga Warriors, it's no Steph Curry Warriors, it's the Warriors on mine.
00:09It's our team.
00:10But I love every player, like, we're all family, and it's hard not to watch, and know what
00:15each player, where they're at, what they got going on, because we monitor it.
00:20But do you have a problem in a blowout for Jonathan Kaminga, his third straight game
00:26to where he did not get 20 minutes recorded, 3-9 on the night?
00:31So he's fine.
00:32We're 11-3.
00:33I'm focused on Jonathan Kaminga, so you're not a good teacher, because you've got a classroom.
00:41It's the class, but you've got to manage everything.
00:43Yeah, one guy can't hold up the class.
00:44It's not about holding up.
00:46Why are you reluctant to talk about- He deserved 19 minutes last night.
00:51That's what he got.
00:52How come you're not saying Wypods?
00:53Wypods only play 15.
00:54What about Moody?
00:55Moody only played 19.
00:56But Pods is struggling, and we're watching that.
00:57But it feels like Kaminga's the dirty little secret nobody wants to talk about.
00:58I don't think so.
00:59Because I've been saying forever that if you're going to play an 11- or 12-man rotation, that's
01:00not going to be good for Kaminga.
01:01And it's not good for Kaminga.
01:02But it's good for the team.
01:03No doubt.
01:04That's all I was asking for.
01:05And I'm rooting for all of them.
01:06But I was just like, man, what's going on here?
01:07Kyle Anderson only played 19.
01:08What about Wypods?
01:09Wypods only played 19.
01:10But it feels like Kaminga's the dirty little secret nobody wants to talk about.
01:11I don't think so.
01:12But it feels like Kaminga's the dirty little secret nobody wants to talk about.
01:41I'm with both of you on so many different things in the last few minutes.
02:04I'm just going to say, I'm really with Big Smooth about playing everybody.
02:10All the more experience they can get during the year, that's going to be good for all of them.
02:15And this is going to change the NBA over the next couple of years, just like Steph and Clay did with three-point shooting a few years ago.
02:24I think it's great.
02:26It's a team sport.
02:28And that's what I got today.
02:30Thanks a lot.
02:31Appreciate the call, Pete.
02:32I got you.
02:33Right now, starting so far, so good.
02:37We can't ignore that there's two guys with four rings and another guy, Looney, with three.
02:46Like, they got a closer.
02:48They got a formula to where if everybody does their thing, the closer can bring you home, or the closers.
02:54And Draymond again last night, just, I mean, like the bully on the schoolyard playing hoop, just taking the ball from...
03:02There was no resistance from Atlanta.
03:04Just fumbling the ball, just scared, it seemed like.
03:08Let's go to Matt in Oakland.
03:09What's going on, Matt?
03:10How you doing?
03:12What is up on this gloomy day, gentlemen?
03:14Hey, what's up, man?
03:16No, everything's cool.
03:18Two quick points and a question.
03:20Gurus, they won.
03:22And I'm happy they won.
03:23What makes you think you had to tell me that?
03:25Well, because...
03:26Can he talk?
03:27Not yet.
03:28He can talk.
03:29He brought up Kaminger early.
03:30And as far as Kaminger goes, man, he's right where he should be.
03:36The guy is not experienced.
03:38He's 22.
03:39He was good last night.
03:41He's not a boss.
03:43He might be a future all-star, but I'm not sure that's going to happen with Curry.
03:49But I'm cool with Kaminger.
03:50My last thing is a question.
03:52Have you guys gone over what they can do with Melton?
03:55Can they trade his contract and package him with something else?
03:59Yeah, they can.
04:00What would that mean?
04:03Even if they did, they can only use so much of it?
04:06No, no, no.
04:08So he's making $13 million, and he's hurt.
04:10So basically what happened with the injury is he's gone now from an asset to filler.
04:17In other words, if you were to make a trade with the Warriors and Melton were healthy,
04:24you throw him into the deal, and that's a plus.
04:27The other team's getting a player.
04:29But if you have to use Melton now, it would solely be as part of the deal that would make the money work,
04:37because they know he's not going to play this year.
04:39So he's only going to be signed for one year, right?
04:43Yeah, exactly.
04:44He's less valuable for sure, but they can still use him in a trade to aggregate if they need to.
04:51But the team that gets him knows they're getting a player who won't be playing,
04:56which is fine if they want to come off his money at the end of the year.
05:00That's kind of how I would explain it.
05:03All right. Thanks, fellas.
05:05And Steini, be nicer to Guru, man.
05:07That's all I got to say.
05:09That's never going to happen, please.
05:11That's not just going to happen.
05:13That's a drop.
05:14He's a poodle.
05:16These people take this like I need help.
05:19I love you, buddy.
05:21But you are a poodle.
05:23Never been in a fight.
05:25Yes, I was.
05:27You're a bully on the radio.
05:29Brent Wiley, second grade.
05:31I broke his collarbone.
05:33I told you that.
05:35I told you that.
05:37Warriors, they look good.
05:41They look good.
05:43But I just wonder why he hit me with the Kaminga antidote.
05:47We're watching these guys grow and play and evolve.
05:51I do the 11-3 star, but I can't ignore what's going on.
05:56And with Paz, I just feel like he's struggling.
05:59Everybody's contributing.
06:01To me, that's what's going on.
06:03And how long can they keep it up?
06:05Are they going to be committed to this all year?
06:09I mean, we're what, 15, 14, 15 games through the season?
06:13I mean, that's what, 20%?
06:15Man.
06:17A little less than 20?
06:19They're clearly going to keep trying it as long as they can.
06:23Austin in San Jose, he ain't buying it.
06:25Our man.
06:27What's up, Austin?
06:29What aren't you buying, my main man?
06:31Hey, fellas.
06:33What's going on, man?
06:35I always love the conversation.
06:37I'm like my guy guru.
06:39I'm different.
06:41I got to be honest, man.
06:43I know the Warriors are 11-3.
06:45First of all, last night's game, what a terrible product for the NBA.
06:47That was terrible.
06:49I don't care whether the Warriors won by 50.
06:51I don't want to watch that.
06:53And I certainly don't want to pay for that.
06:55That's just me.
06:57And so the second thing I want to,
06:59I think you agree, Stiney, on that.
07:01NBA's got a structural issue with the,
07:03I watch the list pass, man.
07:05I scroll around.
07:07Believe me, guys.
07:09The product is not good right now.
07:11I agree, wholeheartedly.
07:13This whole 12-man rotation thing, Stiney,
07:15I can't go with it, man.
07:17It's a collegiate thing.
07:19You can't tell me, Stiney and Guru,
07:21you guys play ball.
07:23What guys did you know come in saying,
07:25I don't mind coming off the bench?
07:27I don't mind not being in the starting lineup.
07:29When is this all started?
07:31This is ridiculous.
07:33That's not the way these guys are built.
07:35These guys are built to be starters, man.
07:37They want to be on the court.
07:39They want to be the guys being announced.
07:41That's what these guys work their whole lives for.
07:43These guys are buying in.
07:45Because they're not saying anything,
07:47doesn't mean they're buying in.
07:49You know what I mean?
07:51You can't tell me that those guys,
07:53Camingo's already said he wants to start.
07:55Draymond said he should want to start.
07:57Anybody that settles for not wanting to start
07:59is a guy that's really settling for being mediocre.
08:01I question all that, Stiney.
08:03I know it looks good right now.
08:05The last thing is,
08:07please stop saying that
08:09all these guys are equal.
08:11All these guys, they are designated role players.
08:13We should not be projecting these guys
08:15into the starting lineup, ever.
08:17Pudzinski cannot be in the starting lineup
08:19on a team that's going to win over time.
08:21Please, can we stop that?
08:23That's all I got, guys.
08:25All I'm saying is,
08:27how do you tell the difference?
08:29I mean, not how do you tell the difference,
08:31but to me, Payton,
08:33Pudzinski, Moody,
08:35they're not Miltons, though, Stiney.
08:37I know he's gone,
08:39but we gotta put some respect on Milton's name.
08:41And maybe that's why he was inserted
08:43into the starting lineup. I'll just say that.
08:45They're good, but they're not Milton.
08:49Who is Milton?
08:51He's never played a full season.
08:53So, I don't know how
08:55good Milton can be over 80 games.
08:57What I'm saying is, when Steve Kerr
08:59looks down to his bench, and he sees,
09:01let's say three days ago,
09:03he sees Milton, Pudzinski, Payton,
09:05Moody, I mean,
09:07reach into a hat and pick out your guy.
09:09That's what I mean.
09:11I don't think there's a drastic difference
09:13between those guys.
09:15And here's what I would say.
09:17Austin, I've been thinking about that, too.
09:19I've been thinking about that, too.
09:21But you gotta look at the
09:23individual players
09:25who have to buy into this.
09:27Okay, Buddy Heald.
09:29Buddy Heald's in his 11th year.
09:31He's playing
09:3324, he's playing like 22-24
09:35minutes a game, which is just about
09:37what he's been playing in the past.
09:39Maybe a little less.
09:41Buddy Heald's a veteran.
09:43There's no doubt he likes it here.
09:45I don't think he's going to have a problem with playing
09:4722 minutes a game.
09:49Gary Payton II.
09:51He's not going to complain about minutes.
09:53He's just not.
09:55With all due respect, he doesn't have the right
09:57to complain about minutes.
09:59Looney. We've seen Looney in this role
10:01a million times.
10:03He doesn't have an attitude problem.
10:05He'll be ready when the team
10:07calls on him. Pudzemski and Moody?
10:09Hey, I got news for you.
10:11They're still very young
10:13players, and if they
10:15want to act pissed off and be an
10:17attitude problem because they're not playing,
10:19well, guess what?
10:21That's too bad. They're not
10:23all-stars in this league.
10:25And even this guy, Kyle Anderson.
10:27Kyle Anderson
10:29is not the kind of guy
10:31who's going to go to the media and say,
10:33I should be playing 25 minutes
10:35a game. That's kind of not who he is.
10:37And I'll go a step further.
10:39I think that's a big reason
10:41or one of the reasons why
10:43Dunleavy targeted
10:45Melton and Heald
10:47and Anderson because he knew
10:49they were solid veteran
10:51players who
10:53would be able to handle the ups and downs of the
10:55season, which might include playing
10:57some nights and not playing as much as others.
10:59So I give Mike Dunleavy
11:01a lot of credit for that. Now what about
11:03Kaminga? You left him out. Another
11:05young player. He's
11:07a young player. I know
11:09nobody likes to hear that, but
11:11if you're not going to guarantee minutes,
11:13you've got to not guarantee
11:15minutes to everybody.
11:17And I think so far, Steve Kerr's done
11:19a great job of
11:21playing the guys who deserve it
11:23and the guys who aren't playing
11:25well, they don't play quite as much,
11:27but they always play.
11:29Everybody's getting into every game.
11:318-8-8, 9-5-7,
11:339-5-7-0 is the number.
11:35Warrior fans, how do you feel
11:37about the 11-12 man
11:39rotation? Do you think there's trouble
11:41up around the bend,
11:43like Austin said, or do you think
11:45this team can
11:47handle
11:49inconsistent
11:51minutes? Because that's what it
11:53may be. But when I look at
11:55player-by-player on this team,
11:57I don't see a malcontent.
11:59And that includes
12:01Jonathan Kaming.
