00:00The Agriculture Department gave free food to the public

00:03as part of the celebration of World Food Day.

00:06Meanwhile, 500 Kadiwa Stores were opened in different parts of the country.

00:23That's just a few of the free food distributed by the Department of Agriculture today

00:28as part of the celebration of World Food Day.

00:42The cooperative farmers made the products

00:46and brought them to the Central Office of the Agency.

01:40The DA's target is to increase the number of Kadiwa Stores to 1,500

01:45so that more Filipinos will have access to cheaper products.

01:50We hope to tap other agencies and offices of the government

01:56that are in the more population area.

02:01We would like to bring down the price of rice,

02:03particularly rice from all over the country

02:07because the price of rice is too high.

02:10We want to bring it down to at least 42 or 40

02:16so that people will have affordability.

02:19In the market, the price is still at 55.

02:22While the price of food is being brought down,

02:26the DA is also pushing to promote our local products abroad.

02:32The Philippines is now cooperating with New Zealand

02:35to sell durian.

02:37It is also possible to export mangoes from Zambales and Guimaras.

02:41What we really want is that our mangoes will be able to be exported to other countries

02:46because the quality is very good.

02:48It should be accepted in Australia, the U.S. and other countries where we need mangoes.

02:54The DA has agreed to cooperate with the World Trade Organization

02:58to implement their export requirements.
