00:00Aside from Metro Manila, the Bigas na Bagong Bayaning Magsasaka Rice Program is also being sold in different parts of the country.
00:08It is where thousands of people in the vulnerable sector benefit from cheap rice.

00:18Along with the launch of the Bigas na Bagong Bayaning Magsasaka or BBM Rice
00:22under the full responsibility of the National Irrigation Administration in Quezon City,
00:26the program was also launched to the regional offices of NIA throughout the country.
00:31In Pila, Laguna, thousands of people from the vulnerable sector benefit from the cheap rice being sold under the program.
00:38According to NIA Calabarzo Regional Director Roberto De La Cruz,
00:42165 hectares of rice have been harvested this month
00:46and 106 hectares of rice are expected to be harvested by the end of the month.
00:53More than 561 bags of cheap rice were sold to residents
00:58in the vulnerable sector in the regional office of NIA in San Rafael, Bulacan.
01:04In Tagbilaran City, more than 1,000 individuals in the vulnerable sector in the city
01:09including senior citizens, persons with disabilities, single parents,
01:14and beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program
01:18were selected to buy rice for P29 per kilo.
01:22In total, more than 380,000 kilos of BBM rice were sold to people in the vulnerable sector throughout the country.
01:31The program was also named because of the successful implementation of the NIA Rice Contract Farming Program.
01:37Under this, NIA will give P50,000 per hectare for farm inputs
01:44This includes rice, fertilizers, and preparation for farming.
01:49In addition, the rice of the farmers will be better.
