00:00Let's put it this way, the storm Pepito is getting stronger while it is pushing the area of Visayas.

00:06The center of the storm was hit by a 795-kilometer-wide eastern-summer storm.

00:14The strong wind was blowing 110 kilometers per hour near the middle

00:20and the wind was blowing 135 kilometers per hour.

00:25It is moving at a speed of 25 kilometers per hour.

00:29Because of the high storm, the signal number one in Catanduanes is the northern part of Camarines Norte,

00:36the eastern part of Albay, the eastern and the southern part of Sor Sugon.

00:41Meanwhile, the Ophel storm is getting weaker while it is moving away to Northern Luzon.

00:47The Ophel storm is the last to pass the 100-kilometer-wide northern-summer storm of Calayan, Cagayan.

00:55For the time being, let's get to know the updates on the Pepito and Ophel storms.

01:02We are on the phone with the Weather Specialist, Chanel Dominguez. Good morning, Ma'am Chanel.

01:09Good morning to all of us. Let's get to the updates on the storms we are watching in our Philippine Area of Responsibility.

01:18Let's start with the Ophel, which is now in the typhoon category.

01:23It is the last to pass the 100-kilometer-wide northwestern storm of Calayan, Cagayan.

01:27It has a strong 120-kilometer-per-hour wind and a 150-kilometer-per-hour storm.

01:34It is moving north-northwestward at a speed of 20 kilometers per hour.

01:39Because of this, we have a tropical cyclone wind signal number three here in the western portion of Babuyan Islands,

01:45the northwestern portion of mainland Cagayan, and the northernmost portion of Ilocos Norte.

01:50Signal number two in the southernmost portion of Babuyan Islands, the northwestern portion of mainland Cagayan,

01:55the northernmost portion of Apayao, and the northernmost portion of Ilocos Norte.

01:59Signal number one in Patanes, west of Cagayan, northernmost portion of Isapela, west of Apayao,

02:05Alinga, northern and central portion of Abra, west of Ilocos Norte, northern portion of Ilocos Sur.

02:12We can see that the northwestern boundary of Ophel will come out later in the afternoon.

02:19It is possible for it to re-enter the Philippine area of responsibility towards Taiwan,

02:27but this will not have a direct effect on the other parts of our country,

02:32especially that this will weaken its category in the coming hours and days.

02:38Let's go to the next storm, Pipito.

02:41It's category is Severe Tropical Storm.

02:44The last to pass is the 795-kilometer-east of Gihuan, eastern Samar.

02:49There is a strong 110-kilometer-per-hour wind and 135-kilometer-per-hour rain.

02:55It moves westward at a speed of 25-kilometers-per-hour.

02:59Now, we have a tropical cyclone, wind signal number one.

03:03It's category is Duanes, eastern portion of Camarines Norte, eastern portion of Camarines Sur,

03:08eastern portion of Albay, eastern-southern portion of Sor Sogon.

03:13For Visayas, it's northern Samar, northern portion of eastern Samar, and northeastern portion of Samar.

03:20We can see that because of Pipito, the highest possible tropical cyclone wind signal that will be raised

03:26is signal number five because of the high chance that it will become a super typhoon.

03:32So, we can see in Pipito's forecast track that his landfall is possible here in the eastern coast of Central or Southern Luzon

03:40this weekend.

03:41And this will be followed by our Philippine landmass or it will cross the West Philippine Sea.

03:48So, for the weekend, we can expect that here in Metro Manila, we will also experience tropical cyclone wind signals,

03:55particularly strong winds and heavy rains.

03:59We also released a weather advisory and we expect that for today,

04:05the rainfall will be moderate to heavy here in Cagayan, Patanes, and Ilocos Norte.

04:10Moderate to heavy, 50 to 100 millimeters of rain.

04:14Tomorrow, because this is a tropical cyclone, we expect that here in Catanduanes, northern Samar,

04:21eastern Samar, Camarines Sur, Albay, and Sor Sogon, the rainfall will be heavy to intense.

04:27Moderate to heavy here in Camarines Norte, Masbate, Leyte, Quezon, Samar, and Biliran.

04:33For Sunday, November 17, intense to torrential rainfall here in Catanduanes, Quezon, Aurora, Camarines Norte, and Camarines Sur.

04:41Heavy to intense in northern Samar, Albay, Sor Sogon, Marinduque, Laguna, Rizal, Bulacan, and Nueva Ecija.

04:48Moderate to heavy here in Metro Manila, Bataan, Cavite, Zambales, Tarlac, Batangas, Pampanga, Masbate,

04:56Romblon, eastern Samar, Samar, Oriental, Mindoro, Pangasinan, Nueva Vizcaya, and Quito.

05:02So we just want to remind our countrymen, after the rain, we expect flash floods and landslides.
