00:00Picked off by Malik Mustafa, who is taking the place of Profunda.
00:08Now, back to Stiney and Guru on 95.7 The Game.
00:13Alrighty, Al Michaels, Amazon, 49ers win 36-24.
00:19And it took 18 minutes, 18 minutes from the 9-2-5 on the Comcast Business Text Line.
00:28If Geno was more accurate, could have gone the other way.
00:32Then from the 2-0-9, that was not a great game.
00:36If Seattle had a better quarterback, they would have crushed this.
00:40Seahawks moved the ball easily.
00:42If it wasn't for Geno, that's an L.
00:45Well, the one thing you're forgetting is, we were a 2-3 team.
00:49We were a 2-3 team coming in there.
00:52Not 5-0, not 4-1.
00:54You're 2-3, and you're playing the Seattle Seahawks on the road.
00:58Talk to me!
00:59And you won by 12 points.
01:00Man!
01:01You're not good enough yet to talk about what didn't go right.
01:05Stine wins, yes!
01:07If my aunt was my hat, well, you know that old adage.
01:09If your aunt was your hat?
01:10No, if my aunt, you know, was a man, she'd be my uncle.
01:13But the bottom line is, they got the win.
01:16Damn, man, I can't believe that.
01:18Not today, this team would have been 2-4,
01:21and Stine, he would have been Armageddon on this payday Friday.
01:24They handle business.
01:26Now, I'm being honest.
01:28I have PTSD watching the Niners.
01:30I'm thinking when Geno had the ball and a chance to score,
01:33if they put it in the end zone.
01:35We've seen this movie before.
01:38But to come out there on national TV, run the ball 33 times for 228 yards,
01:45Matt Stein, it's 6.9 yards a pop.
01:48Come on, man.
01:49And you know what?
01:50Look around.
01:51The NFL, nothing's going to be pretty and perfect.
01:54And when you are 2-3 and just drop one at home that you blew,
01:58man, to hell with that.
02:00You've got to get her done.
02:03From the 707, is this correct?
02:06First time since 88, the 49ers scored over 31 at Seattle.
02:12There you go, if that's true.
02:14We'll get our fact checkers on it.
02:16Would you buy that?
02:19They've owned Seattle,
02:21but I've got to believe they've put up more in that building.
02:24I think he's probably right.
02:26That's what I'm guessing.
02:27Well, I'll tell you what, man.
02:29All I saw was a lot of outside zone runs, Stiney.
02:33Dibs, I love this.
02:3421 personnel, the Niners ran at 47% of the time.
02:38Are you sure?
02:39Positive, yeah.
02:40You know what the 21 personnel is like.
02:42Sure, sure.
02:43Jeffrey in Oakland, he's feeling it.
02:46Jeff, what's up?
02:47Jeffrey, how you doing, buddy?
02:48How you feeling?
02:49How's it going?
02:50Good.
02:51I wasn't calling because I was a Raiders fan at first,
02:55and they left me.
02:56So I jumped over to Costa Base in 1981 and haven't looked back.
03:01And I'm saying this, I was worried about the last two games.
03:06We lost behind.
03:08After last night, we're coming back.
03:11We're on the brink of winning it all.
03:14You know?
03:15Yeah.
03:16Because everybody knows we're going to make it this year.
03:19What was the best part of last night?
03:22Best part of last night was seeing those rookies, man, come up and play.
03:26Man.
03:27That was pretty good.
03:29I mean, I knew Mustafa when he was there.
03:32I saw him in the preseason games, and I thought about him.
03:35I said, oh, he's going to be a hitter.
03:37Mind me, I'm not going to lie.
03:38Yeah.
03:39And he left the game.
03:42He left the game.
03:43I don't know if he's okay.
03:44I don't know what the kicker was doing trying to do another
03:47Sebastian Genachowski stuff.
03:49You know?
03:50Come on, man.
03:51Yeah.
03:52But I just want to say we're on the brink.
03:54I'm 56 years old.
03:56I'm 56 years old.
03:58Tell me you don't know yet, but I've been around.
04:01I've been with Jerry Wright since he called Pee-Pee.
04:04Oh, okay.
04:05Jeffrey, you're a kid.
04:06Yeah.
04:07You're just a kid at 56.
04:08I'm going to put some respect.
04:10Which stat was wrong?
04:13Well, if he's talking about regulation,
04:16then the stat is technically correct.
04:18But in 2008, the Niners scored 33 points in an overtime victory at Seattle.
04:22Nah, he was close.
04:23Because we did good stuff, Evan.
04:24We didn't hear him say regulation, right, Stony?
04:27You want me to read it?
04:28Might have been implied.
04:29Yeah.
04:30But we've got to put some respect like the caller did.
04:32Thanks for calling.
04:33I'm Matthew Wright, Stony.
04:343 of 3, a long of 41.
04:37But what's up with Niner kickers trying to be Ronnie Lott?
04:39They shouldn't have to.
04:41Well, when the return man gets to the 45, then it's down to the kicker.
04:46Yeah.
04:47But they gave up another one last night.
04:50They were in control of that game.
04:52And special teams, they've got to get it fixed, Stony.
04:55But, man, Seattle runs that kick back 97 yards,
04:59and all of a sudden out of nowhere, it's like when can you rest?
05:02But they got it done.
05:0436-24, throwback uniforms look beautiful by both teams.
05:08But they needed this, partner.
05:10Now they're playing a team that's coming off a bye, so I'll leave that there.
05:14Yeah.
05:15You know what I mean?
05:16I mean.
05:17She's coming off a bye.
05:18Go figure when the Niners, you know, got some extra days.
05:22Yeah.
05:23It's not as big a deal if you're playing on a Thursday.
05:26So the 49ers, they'll have their work cut out for them in a couple weeks,
05:30but it's not really.
05:31How about first?
05:32Three touchdowns, Stony.
05:33About time.
05:3418-28, 255 in the air.
05:35About time.
05:36No mistakes, running, doing his thing.
05:38So everybody had a part in this.
05:41And the callers point, the rookies, that was big.
05:44But I keep hate talking about the Niners and certain players
05:48and not knowing what's up with their injuries.
05:50I know it's a sprained AC joint with J.P. Mason.
05:54Can Garindo be the bell cow?
05:56He's not going to need to.
05:57You don't think so?
05:58San Francisco running back Jordan Mason, the NFL's leading rusher,
06:02is believed to have suffered a sprained AC joint.
06:04That is not considered serious during Thursday night's win in Seattle.
06:07That's according to Shefty, Adam Schefter.
06:10We saw Patrick Taylor Jr. run.
06:12I was like, who are these guys?
06:14Youngsters.
06:15Yeah, so here's what's happening today.
06:17Kyle Shanahan's going to talk to the media on a conference call at about 1230,
06:22and we will have that sound for you right after.
06:26So we will go to Kyle Shanahan after he talks to the media on a conference call,
06:32and then the 49ers take some time off before they get ready for Kansas City next week.
06:37And they will be more upbeat going into that game than they would have been
06:42had they lost last night, that's for sure.
06:44Now, I believe you know me.
06:46We've got a relationship going on almost 10 years, Stony,
06:49and I think you know how I watch sports and just how it sets me up.
06:56I talked to Ernie Chavez about how you watch sports last night.
06:58Anyway, shout out to him.
06:59He's the man.
07:00But Stony, you know I'm not a caper, but the start of the fourth quarter,
07:05Seattle fumbled the ball.
07:07Dee Williams, the returner for the Seahawks, it hit him.
07:12It's a fumble.
07:13It's a clear recovery by the Niners.
07:16Kyle challenges, and in this age of technology and angles,
07:22you come back and the NFL says we didn't have all the views?
07:27That's BS!
07:29What do you mean?
07:30Because regular Joes like us and Amazon Prime saw clearly.
07:34New York was saying they didn't have.
07:36What are we doing?
07:37What if that were a playoff game?
07:38What if this was for the division?
07:40Like the NFL, you should be embarrassed that you couldn't.
07:45Like seriously, man.
07:46So I say that to say that happens.
07:49Maybe this game is not that close, but good God, fix yourself.
07:54How can you say to the American public we didn't have the angles
07:58but all the world's watching?
07:59What?
08:00Like that's just stupid.
08:03He clearly touched it.
08:04It was a fumble.
08:06You know what?
08:08Stuff evens out over the course of a season.
08:10Stuff, you know.
08:12Was it an illegal shift?
08:14Was it an illegal shift on D.K. Metcalf?
08:17Oh, my God.
08:18When did this become the new open?
08:20Took away a 52-yard touchdown.
08:21Jesus Christ.
08:23Watch something else.
08:26Illegal shift, and I'm looking at the play like,
08:29was it really Blake Nittinstein?
08:31Anyway, Niners got robbed.
08:34How about that?
08:35They won the game.
08:37But had they lost, this would be leading.
08:39No, it wouldn't.
08:40Please.
08:41If they had lost this game, what we would be leading with is another blown lead.
08:47See, you might have, and it would have been there,
08:50but this would have been the lead for me.
08:52I'm just like, good gosh.
08:55It's not a perfect game, Goo.
08:57There are mistakes that are made by players.
08:59There are mistakes that are made by the booth.
09:01It's not going to be the last replay review.
09:03But the booth is there so there's no mistakes.
09:07But to say you didn't have access to certain angles.
09:10Well, they didn't.
09:12What do you want them to do?
09:13Get better Wi-Fi.
09:14I don't know.
09:15Jesus.
09:17You know what?
09:18I'm using that too much.
09:19It's not Sunday.
09:20Chimney crickets.
09:22What are you using?
09:23Jesus.
09:25Let's go to, oh, I'll tell you what.
09:28We say we bring in Trey in the East Bay.
09:31Trey was there last night at the veranda.
09:34Introduced himself.
09:35What's up, Trey?
09:36How you doing, buddy?
09:37Thanks for coming out last night, man.
09:38Fun time.
09:40Man, it was a great time, brother.
09:42Appreciate y'all for doing that for us, man.
09:44Absolutely.
09:45It was a beautiful night.
09:46And we definitely enjoyed it, man.
09:47It was great meeting you, meeting Goo, man.
09:49You guys are some real stand-up guys, man.
09:51Appreciate y'all.
09:52Sure, man.
09:54Look, man, it was a great win, though, overall, man.
09:57All the stars came out and showed up.
09:58Partied three TDs.
09:59Deebo got one.
10:01Kittle got one.
10:02Bosa showed up.
10:03You know what I mean?
10:04Warner still played like Warner.
10:05We should have had that fumble recovery, but that's okay, you know?
10:08Yeah.
10:09But we played well, man.
10:10I mean, even down, you know, hurt the way we were.
10:12You know what I mean?
10:13We still came out and played.
10:14The youngsters showed up.
10:15So we have to be happy with this win overall.
10:17Nobody should be mad about nothing, man.
10:19We're 3-3 back on top of the division, you know, first place.
10:22So what else can you ask for, brother?
10:23I'm with you there.
10:24I'm with you there.
10:25You came in 2-3, and you lose that game, you're 2-4,
10:29and you're essentially three games behind
10:32because you would have lost two games in the standings.
10:36You'd be two games behind, but you would have lost the head-to-head.
10:39So first thing's first, and that was to beat the Seahawks last night,
10:44and that's what they did.
10:45And to me, everything's kind of secondary to that.
10:48It doesn't mean you can't work on improving some of the things you need to improve on.
10:51Nobody's perfect.
10:52But first thing's first, and the San Francisco 49ers are now 3-3.
10:57And I'll tell you, one of the things I was actually thinking about last night, Gu,
11:01was I always think about the show.
11:05I think about our audience, our listeners, how much we love them.
11:09And I'm just looking forward to a call today from J-Dawg in Boston.
11:13Man.
11:14Do you think J-Dawg in Boston will call?
11:15I'm going to say no.
11:17J-Dawg, what a game plan by Kyle Shanahan.
11:21Ran it down their throat.
11:22Playing chess, huh?
11:23Yeah.
11:24Playing chess.
11:25Did you see how Shanahan utilized those weapons?
11:27Wow.
11:28And we always come, and yesterday wasn't perfect for the special teams, Donnie.
11:31They gave up that touchdown return.
11:34But also, Luter was in on a fumble early in the first quarter from Seattle,
11:39and that, I feel like, had a big, you know, that was a big reason the Niners were up 20 points.
11:45So, to slay the dragon in regard to what ails you in the red zone,
11:49and Kittle now is being used more, I just feel like it, Donnie.
11:52Five touchdowns, and he's a target.
11:55And they're starting to use him.
11:56Two big touchdowns.
11:57And let's give Brock Purdy the Roger Clemens Award for last night.
12:01That last, that touchdown in the corner, Donnie,
12:03you know what I remember, where he just threw a fastball, heat rock.
12:07And the defender was right there, fell down, tried to deflect it, hit Kittle.
12:11It was a beautiful thing.
12:13Brock Purdy, proud of his unit.
12:16Take a listen.
12:17Obviously, there's always going to be stuff that you can clean up.
12:19And, you know, for us, our standard is high here.
12:22And so, I think a lot of us would go to, all right, like, we could have done this or that and be better here.
12:27But I think at the end of the day, man, it's a team sport.
12:29And so, to go four quarters with all these different kinds of emotions and parts of the game,
12:33and to be able to rally together and defense get a turnover,
12:36and then us score a touchdown at the end, and it's just, that's team football, man.
12:39And that's the sport that we play.
12:41So, I feel like we did take a step in the right direction for sure.
12:43And we're always going to have stuff that we're going to be hard on ourselves and need to grow and get better at.
12:47But I really do think that we all, as a team, came together and found a way today really well.
12:52Yeah, and I feel like the simplest way to talk about this game,
12:58and not that we have to dwell on this part, but to me, they lost two games.
13:02Let's throw the Vikings game out, but they lost two games where they had leads.
13:08And both sides of the ball had chances to win the game for the team.
13:14And they didn't do it.
13:16And last night, the bottom line is, it got to be a one-possession game,
13:20and the defense forced a turnover, and then the offense went down and scored.
13:24And it's ballgame.
13:25No doubt about it.
13:26And that's what they needed to do one other time, or actually two other times this year,
13:31but now they've done it one out of three times.
13:34So, to me, that was the difference in the ballgame.
13:37The situational stop, the interception by Green,
13:40and then Garendo taking it down for the game-clinching tie,
13:43game-clinching score, essentially, with Uschak's run.
13:47And that's why this season, Stani, with their record going into this game,
13:51has been uncanny, because we know it's not a talent issue,
13:55but it was just odd that they couldn't meet those moments.
13:58But yesterday they did, man, and I've got to be honest with you.
14:01I'm sitting there like, man, if they don't get a first down,
14:04are they going to be able to stop them?
14:06How much time is going to be on the clock for Seattle?
14:08And then Garendo, bam, is scampering.
14:11So, I mean, this is a feel-good win, Stani.
14:13They basically got back to basics, ran the ball, took the ball away,
14:18and all said and done, they win by 12 points, man.
14:22Let's go to Steven in Vegas.
14:24Hey, Steven, how you doing, man?
14:27Doing great.
14:29Morning, Stani.
14:31Stani, guru, best duo on Sports Talk Radio.
14:35Love Willard, love Diz, Vontaze Shafsky, but this show's for a tat.
14:39So grateful we got that win last night.
14:42Definitely makes it easier to go 10 days without Niners football
14:45and be on a win.
14:47But this specialty's got me nervous.
14:49Every time we're punting, kicking,
14:51I just get to pan my stomach until the play's over.
14:54And I keep seeing on Facebook, everything,
14:57people getting mad at our kickers for making these tackles,
15:01but what they fail to realize is the kicker's making the tackles
15:04because the rest of our specialty is missing those tackles.
15:07Exactly.
15:08And I ain't going to fault the guy for doing his job.
15:11You know, Niners, the reason they're Niners is they got that dog in them.
15:14Even our kickers got that dog in them.
15:16They ain't afraid to put their body on the line.
15:18You know, I hope our specialties can fix this up,
15:20but people got to take it easy on our kickers.
15:22They're just doing their job.
15:23Yeah, appreciate the call, Steven in Vegas.
15:25I was going to do low legs, Donnie, let him go.
15:27Maybe try to push him out of bounds.
15:29I don't know.
15:31But I'm sure Moody regrets it.
15:36I mean, if you've got to make a tackle, you've got to make a tackle.
15:40And they made the tackle,
15:42and we've got to wait to see about Matthew Wright.
15:44Made three field goals.
15:46And I'll tell you what, Donnie.
15:47Moody makes three field goals, it's a bad night.
15:49But overall, Darryl Luter, I keep talking about him,
15:51he forced to fumble, recovered to fumble.
15:54So they had some positives on their side of the ball, too,
15:58and should have got another fumble.
16:01But we know what happened with the technology on that.
