00:00While on his way to the ASEAN Summit in Laos,
00:03President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr. was still in a tight spot
00:07in the situation and safety of our countrymen in Lebanon.
00:11In fact, the President is preparing the government agencies
00:16for the possible implementation of the forced repatriation.
00:20Claizel Pardilla is in the center of the news.
00:25We are now going to repatriate our people
00:27by whatever means, by air or by sea.
00:30This is President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr.'s directive
00:34to the government agencies
00:36to help our countrymen who are in trouble
00:40through Israel and the military group Hezbollah.
00:43The President helped the high-ranking official of the government
00:47in the middle of a tight schedule in the ASEAN Summit
00:50and related summits in Laos.
00:52President Marquez Jr. wants to ensure safety
00:57and the well-being of Filipinos in the Middle East.
01:00Lebanon is now under Alert Level No. 3,
01:03which means there is a high risk of security
01:07even if it is voluntary repatriation.
01:10I asked to speak to all of the concerned agencies
01:16to find out how we can bring back the Filipinos
01:22who are trapped in Lebanon.
01:25There are more than 400 now who would want to be repatriated.
01:30So, basically, we're just putting the plans together
01:32how we will bring them back home as quickly as possible.
01:35In case the situation worsens and Alert Level No. 4 is raised,
01:39it is mandatory to send our countrymen back to the Middle East.
01:43DND Secretary Gilbert Yodoro promised
01:46that repatriation will be done
01:48when clearance is received from Lebanon.
01:51We have given a directive to our shipowners
01:57not to go to dangerous places.
02:00And so that's what we did.
02:02Just recently, Israel's warplanes hit Beirut 30 times.
02:07No Filipinos were injured in the airstrike,
02:10but Filipinos are being taken care of in the area.
02:13There are 40,000 Filipinos in the Middle East.
02:161,721 have already applied for repatriation.
02:20More than half a thousand Filipinos have been successfully repatriated to the Philippines.
02:24The Filipinos were given P150,000.
02:28They will also receive reintegration assistance and psychosocial intervention.

02:46said that up to 450 OFWs in Lebanon have been able to return to the Philippines.
02:52These are targets that were brought to Cyprus from Beirut.
