00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. promised that the government will not stop until the floods in Bicol Region return to normal conditions.

00:10The President also instructed the relevant government agencies to use high-quality and durable materials for infrastructure projects.

00:28That's what President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. promised in his visit to Camarines Sur a few weeks after the flood in Bicol Region.

00:36The President assured that the government will not stop until the floods in Bicol Region return to normal conditions.

00:44In July of this year, the Department of Public Works and Highways completed the updating of the Master Plan and Feasibility Study of the Bicol River Basin Development Project.

01:13This is to address the challenges of climate change.

01:23Currently, the Detailed Engineering Design Project is being completed.

01:29It is expected to start in the first quarter of next year.

01:35Next year, when the new year starts in 2025, we will start our plans so that the floods in Bicol River Basin will not be this bad.

01:51DPWH, DNR and DILG were also instructed to help local governments to make the project integrated and future-ready.

02:01The chief executives of DPWH, DOTR and DTI were also instructed to use high-quality materials so that this type of project will last long.

02:11While the DBM was instructed that the Quick Response Fund should always be ready.

02:16The President again acknowledged the assistance received by the Philippines from other countries during the floods.

02:22I would like to thank our compatriots in ASEAN.

02:28ASEAN sent help.

02:34Just like other countries, they were also hit by the floods, but we were still given help.

02:43They sent helicopters and other equipment.

02:48Even the private sector was ready to help in the expansion of government projects.

02:56The financial assistance was received from farmers and fishermen who were hit by the floods.

03:01Just like Salvador, who lost his crop.

03:04That's why he lost his 50,000 pesos crop.

03:08If you get 1 hectare, 80,000 pesos, maybe half of it.

03:12Or maybe just 30%.

03:15So, what are we going to do now?

03:19The President himself received financial assistance from the beneficiaries.

03:22It reached almost 50 million pesos.

03:25The 5,000 beneficiaries received 10,000 pesos.

03:29I hope that with the help and support we are giving you now,

03:34you will be able to recover.

03:40The President received 50 million pesos.

03:46The DSWD will distribute it to those affected by the floods.

03:515,000 farmers, fishermen, and other families affected will receive 10,000 pesos.

04:01The beneficiaries are thankful.

04:04We will plant again. We will buy seeds.

04:12Because we are poor farmers.

04:17Even though we are affected by the floods, at least we will be able to recover.

04:23Thank you very much for your support to the farmers

04:28so that they will be able to recover.

04:31Aside from the financial assistance from the Office of the President,

04:34the Agriculture Department, like BINHI and PATABA, also received financial assistance

04:38and indemnity checks from the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation.
