00:00Hi, welcome back to my channel. In this video, I will explain the ending of Night at the
00:04Museum, Khamunra Rises Again. So, let's begin.
00:08Night at the Museum, Khamunra Rises Again, is a 2022 animated drama film directed by
00:13Matt Danner. Spoilers for the film's ending follow.
00:17Night at the Museum, the first movie, was about Larry taking on the job of a night security
00:21guard at the Museum of Natural History and coming to the realization that the golden
00:25tablet of Pharaoh Achmenra had the ability to bring the exhibits to life. The only caveat
00:31was that the exhibits had to be in their original positions by sunrise. Or else they would be
00:36turned into dust. The antagonists of that film were three elderly guards, Cecil, Gus,
00:42and Reginald, who apparently benefited from that tablet's powers. So, they stole it, along
00:48with other valuable stuff and framed Larry for the whole thing.
00:52Larry convinced all the exhibits to put aside their differences and rally against the trio
00:56of veteran guards. If those guards had their way, then the exhibits won't be able to have
01:01fun at night. Larry and the rest caused a lot of ruckus all throughout New York City
01:06and eventually caught the guards. Larry was initially fired by Dr. McPhee for misplacing
01:12or misusing the museum's artifacts. But when that attracted a lot of people to the
01:16museum, McPhee forgave Larry and rehired him.
01:20The night at the museum, Battle of the Smithsonian, took place two years after the events of the
01:24first film and found Larry as the owner of a company that sold his inventions via DRTV,
01:29direct-response television. The exhibits were being replaced with their holographic versions
01:34while the exhibits themselves were being put in deep storage in the Smithsonian. But with
01:38the tablet in the American Museum of Natural History, they wouldn't be able to come to
01:42life at night. Later, Jedediah revealed that Dexter did indeed bring the tablet to the
01:47Smithsonian, which woke up K'munrah, Ogmenrah's older brother, thereby beginning his plans
01:52to conquer the world. Larry got the tablet out of his hands, but then K'munrah got it
01:56back. However, he failed to open the gate of the underworld and forced Larry to figure
02:02out how to do the same. In an attempt to save a sand-drowning Jed, Larry did help out K'munrah,
02:07who then unleashed an army of Horus warriors. Larry and his team fought back and banished
02:12K'munrah to the underworld. Larry then proceeded to sell his company and used the money to
02:17renovate the museum, and he extended its nighttime visiting hours so that people could interact
02:22with the exhibits, thinking they were animatronics, and hired reenactors.
02:27Night at the museum, the secret of the tomb began with a backstory from 1938, when a team
02:31of archaeologists, led by a young Cecil Fredericks, were warned by locals that removing the tablet
02:37of Ogmenrah from his tomb in Egypt was going to bring about the end. In the present day,
02:42we saw an event hosted by Larry featuring the exhibits go horribly wrong as the tablet
02:46started to rot and corrode. Larry got in touch with Cecil and learned that Ogmenrah's parents,
02:52Merankur and Shepshirat, could restore the tablet's powers and prevent the artifacts
02:56from going feral. But since Ogmenrah's parents were in the British museum, Larry and his
03:01son Nick went all the way to the UK, all the while witnessing the exhibit's situation worsen.
03:07After getting there, they learned that the tablet can be fixed with moonlight since it
03:10worked on Khonsu's magic. However, Lancelot worsened the situation by stealing the corroding
03:16tablet, assuming that it was the Holy Grail. Larry and his team took it back and fixed
03:21it under the moonlight. Then we got a faux ending with Ogmenrah staying back in London
03:25with his parents and his tablet. Which meant that New York's exhibits wouldn't come to
03:30life. Three years later, Tilly, the night guard, brought the tablet back, thereby allowing
03:35the exhibits to party again.
03:38What is Ogmenrah's plan? Larry calls Nick from the Tokyo museum, which is where Larry
03:43currently works, to remind him that the tablet brings everyone to life and everyone has to
03:47be back in the museum by sunrise, or else they'll turn to dust. In addition to that,
03:53Larry tells him that he shouldn't forget to lock the basement as well as the loading dock.
03:57He says that sometimes new exhibits come in and they turn out to be dangerous. Due to
04:02Nick's fear of basements and the general creepiness of the artifacts lying in there, he gets spooked
04:06enough to not actually lock the loading bay and just puts a statue in front of the door
04:10to keep it from opening.
04:12That statue obviously falls over. Ogmenrah wakes up, and he makes his way to the ground
04:17floor to steal the all-powerful tablet. Why? Well, like every other villain, he wants to
04:24awaken his army of the underworld and rule the physical world. After escaping from the
04:29Museum of Natural History, Ogmenrah goes to the Metropolis Art Museum and awakens his
04:33loyal subjects. What does he plan to do there? Well, as explained by Theodore Roosevelt,
04:39Ogmenrah is going to use the tablet to bring the Temple of Dendur, the art exhibit, not
04:43the real thing, to life and travel back in time to ancient Egypt. That establishes the
04:49new rule that paintings or posters that are brought to life by the tablet can act as portals
04:53to the time and space they exist in. There's one good joke, albeit an unintentional one,
04:59I suppose, where Roosevelt throws his sword at an Andy Warhol-inspired image of oil drums.
05:04So, oil spills out of it and causes Ogmenrah to slip, thereby hindering his attempt to
05:09get away from the heroes. Unless you've been living under a rock, you'll know that anti-oil
05:14activists have been throwing soup at famous, glass-protected, pieces of art. That's why
05:19this seems like a reference to that. Anyway, Ogmenrah wakes up the god of chaos, Seth,
05:24who helps him keep the heroes distracted while they can escape into Egypt.
05:29In case it isn't clear yet, Kamenrah is trying to prove his father wrong by being the best
05:32pharaoh ever, because Merengar didn't allow that, and Nick is trying to prove his father
05:37right by being a good night guard. Does Nick stop the villains from taking over the world
05:41and the heroes from turning into dust? After some non-adventurous dilly-dallying, which
05:46can also be defined as redundant whining and empty reassurances, Nick and his team get
05:50to the Temple of the Sun because that's where Kamenrah and Seth are. That's where Nick's
05:55musical prowess comes into play, as he realizes that with three sacred cords, Kamenrah can
06:00summon his soldiers from the underworld, take them through the painting portals, and wreak
06:04havoc. So, they realize that they've got to stop Kamenrah before he strikes the final
06:09note. Kamenrah puts a lot of obstacles in the hero's path. But, since they are the heroes
06:15and this is a movie meant for kids, the stakes are basically non-existent. That's why they
06:20defeat the living statues, cats, snakes, and whatnot and get to Kamenrah. I'm sure Nick
06:25makes a Hawkeye joke because Night at the Museum and the MCU are owned by Disney. Kamenrah
06:31does bring out the army of the dead. However, Nick and his team not only defeat the army
06:36and send Kamenrah and Seth into the void but also get the exhibits back to the museum through
06:41the poster that Sacagawea had given him. During the concluding moments of the film, Larry
06:46learns that Nick has done a pretty good job of handling the museum's antics. This gives
06:50Nick the confidence to audition for Ms. Montefusco and also ask out the girl of his dreams, Mia.
06:56The movie ends with one big party at the Museum of Natural History with Nick acting as the
07:00DJ. Look, I am not going to sit here and pretend that the first three Night of the Museum are
07:06some kind of misunderstood masterpieces with deep and relevant messages about the issues
07:10plaguing our society. They were fluff. And while the first one was great, the rest were
07:16kind of enjoyable. Kamenrah Rises Again had everything going for it — a new medium,
07:21a new protagonist, and pretty relatable stakes about two sons doing completely opposite things
07:26for their respective fathers. This could have been interesting. However, the Disneyfication
07:32of the film, which essentially forces every character to make a bland joke and then overexplain
07:36it to death, simply kills anything that's fun about it. But is there going to be a new
07:41trilogy of movies now with Nick as the protagonist? Well, it sure looks like it if this film gets
07:47the response that the studios expect. That's all for now folks. I would appreciate it if
07:52you could give the video a super thanks with a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel,
07:56so you can see more content like this every day, take care, bye!
