00:05so let's begin.

00:07My Name Is Vendetta is a 2022 drama action film directed by Cosimo Gomez.

00:14My Name Is Vendetta is Netflix's newest Italian film that revolves around a father-daughter

00:18duo whose lives get embroiled in a perilous web of mafia and vengeance.

00:23The movie begins with the introduction of our main characters, Santo and Sofia.

00:28Sofia is playing hockey and gets into a fight with another player.

00:32She is sent to the bench for her behavior, but later, she manages to score the final

00:36point that gets the victory for her team.

00:39At the same time, we meet Santo, Sofia's father, who is looking from the audience.

00:44He is with his wife, and they seem very much in love.

00:48Her wife asks why Sofia is always getting involved in fights, and Santo replies that

00:52when you are attacked, you need to defend yourself.

00:55We see that Sofia has a boyfriend, and she seems to have a very good relationship with

00:59both of her parents.

01:02She actually goes on a drive with Santo, and they visit some very beautiful places in the

01:05mountains.

01:07She convinces him to let her go on a trip with friends, and she also tries to take a

01:11picture with her and his father.

01:13However, Santo doesn't want his picture to be taken, he doesn't like it.

01:28picture, and they identified him as the man they have been looking for decades.

01:32The mafia boss sends a group of thugs to the location in the picture and waits.

01:37It is revealed that to get out of his situation, Santo killed the boss' older son.

01:42Now his youngest son is afraid of what can come next.

01:46He doesn't want to have anything to do with the violence that is to come, and his father

01:49scowls at him for it.

01:51The thugs reach Santo's home and kill his wife and brother-in-law.

01:55They also try to kill Sofia, who was in the house at the moment.

01:58However, she manages to escape.

02:02When Santo gets home, he finds his wife on the ground and Sofia outside, looking in.

02:09He says they are in danger.

02:44by one of the thugs who killed her mother.

02:47The thug kills Sofia's boyfriend, but Santo arrives just in time to protect his daughter.

02:52They fight the thug together, and Santo executes him in front of Sofia.

02:56She understands that it is just her and her father.

03:00Santo explains that they will keep coming for them until they are dead.

03:03So the only option they have is to attack them.

03:07Santo explains he has a plan, but he will need Sofia's help.

03:10He is wounded, and Sofia takes him to a clandestine hospital.

03:14Unfortunately, they are attacked by the mafia while Santo recovers, but he manages to kill

03:19their assailants and discovers the location of the big boss.

03:23He tells Sofia that she must wait for his signal to leave, but we realize that he is

03:27only trying to protect her.

03:29There is no real plan, Santo is ready to go and face the entire mafia on his own, and

03:33he does.

03:35Reaching the mafia boss and killing him before he gets killed as well.

03:39Sofia is put into a facility for young orphans.

03:43She has now lost her father and mother.

03:45She receives a visit from the mafia boss' youngest son.

03:49He tells Sofia that he is glad their fathers are dead, as they were only holding them back.

03:54Sofia doesn't trust him one bit, and he gets out of the facility and meets him after hours

03:58at his office.

04:00She kills him using a knife, as her father taught her.

04:03She leaves, reciting that showing mercy is a sign of weakness.

04:08What happens to Sofia?

04:10It is unclear whether or not Sofia is caught or convicted for the murder of Michel.

04:14The previous offenses, the ones where she worked as an aide to the crimes of her father

04:18such as kidnapping Michel, are dropped.

04:21The ending of the movie leaves the audience in awe and questions.

04:25It is an open-ended conclusion, where one can assume a lot regarding Sofia's future

04:29as a Franz.
