00:00All right, another episode of the Cedric Maxwell podcast. I'm Joseph Pabon alongside Cedric
00:23Maxwell and Max. We're doing bold predictions. All right. That's that's this episode. It's
00:27what it's all about. So anything that comes to mind, throw it out there. You know, season's
00:33around the corner. I'm putting out some NBA predictions right now.
00:36I'll go off the top. I'm gonna give you one. Philly or Milwaukee will not be in the finals.
00:45I don't think that they've, you know, as good as Philly could be. I think those young teams
00:51are underneath them, like Indiana, like the Orlando teams. You know, the Knicks, they're
00:59going to be the teams are going to advance. It will not be Philly and it will not be Milwaukee.
01:06Is this the most talented 76ers team that that's been around? Dwell and B, I think this
01:11might be it, right?
01:13Could be, you know, but you're talking about Tyrese Maxey is who he is. He's a developer again.
01:27You're asking a lot for Paul George to come in and change the culture of what Philly's done.
01:34He's a tremendous player. We know that. But he's had some lapses from time to time.
01:40And can Joel Embiid stay healthy for an entire season? You know, they're not like the Celtics
01:46where, you know, you can bring somebody in and take Joel Embiid's and play his place for,
01:52you know, 30, 40 games without going down in the standings. So that's why I think Philly
01:59right now is a team that would be, that thing would be in trouble. Now with Giannis and Dane,
02:05I haven't seen the addition nor the subtraction of what kind of helped them down last year.
02:16I haven't seen enough defenders at the point guard position or the two guard position to counter
02:23what Holiday and White do. We know Dane has tremendous score. He can do that. He's done
02:31that since the first day he stepped into the league. But can they defend the basketball
02:37in critical situations? I don't see it. Right. Yeah. I mean, that's the biggest
02:43question, Mark. You know, like how do they address that? We've been talking about that
02:48all season last year. Drew Holiday, just that loss was never, they never filled in that void
02:54that they had at the defensive end of the floor. Yeah. I think that is it. You know,
02:59the other prediction I'll give you, I'll look at this, this hand right here. Sometimes pretty soon
03:05this is going to have a ring on it. I got a call the other day from the Celtics saying,
03:11we're measuring you up for your championship ring.
03:15That's not a bold prediction back then. I think that one you saw coming.
03:18Well, I kind of saw it coming, but you know, I just want to let, you know, people know,
03:22because that's the first thing they asked me. He said, are you going to get a ring?
03:26Are you getting the ring? And I said, well, every time they won since I've been around,
03:31you know, I've gotten the ring. And then Kevin McGarnett, Paul Pierce, obviously, you know,
03:36this year will be another year of flying high for the Boston Celtics. So I will have a
03:44championship stud on my hand. And they told me to go to a jeweler and I went with my left hand.
03:49She said, no, sir, that's, that's only for wedding rings. I said, well, nevermind lady.
03:56Nevermind. Let's flip that sucker. I'll go the other way. I'm good.
04:02Man. I can't wait for band tonight. Just seeing them raise that band and seeing the looks on
04:07everyone's faces, Al Tatum, Brown, the whole squad, man. It's gonna be a very special night
04:11because how many teams do you see 90% of the players back the next year? You know,
04:16it's rare, Max. That's going to be a really, really cool night for those guys.
04:19That is really true. I mean, you think about when number one,
04:23they were minus two, three critical pieces. You know, uh, you know, I reached out guys,
04:29Jeff green wasn't there and brown wasn't there. And it changed the trajectory of what their team
04:35was on their, uh, offensive and defensive man. And we've seen a lot of times when guys disappear,
04:42but the Boston Celtics with those first eight and nine players, those guys are going to be
04:47right back into the fall. And they're hunting to see if they can actually deliver again on the
04:54championship, which would be, we'll put them in another level. You know, you think of no team
05:00with the Boston Celtics is legendary as they've been has done that since bill Russell's team
05:06been able to come back and repeat. Now this team has many championships. It was bill Russell team
05:12eight times in a row, but Larry Burris team never did it. Uh, Paul Pierce's team never did it.
05:19So it w it would be, uh, it will move them up in the legend. Uh, we'll move them up in the
05:26corridors of the Boston Celtics. You know, Max, I'm glad you brought that up because before we
05:31get out of here at the end of this episode, we're going to talk about a former Celtic and what he
05:36said about the Celtics coming back, possibly repeating and how easy their path was to the
05:41finals. But we'll get into that to the end. I want you to know, you know, bold predictions.
05:46I only want you to hold that off. Who said that? Please.
05:51It's a great tease, Max. That's a great team. Don't let it be perk again. Oh my God. Okay.
05:58Oh yeah. We had, we haven't talked about perk. You talked about perk on a, uh, what was it? The,
06:03um, uh, another, another podcast. What was it? The, the, the Celtics, Celtics, Celtics beat,
06:08right? Yeah, I, I have. And, uh, I got a call last week, uh, the 20th of November,
06:19uh, D Brown is going into the, the, the little hall of fame that they have with the Boston
06:26guard and the Boston garden. And, uh, look at what this called them, but I'm presenting,
06:31I'm be the presenter for D Brown on that particular night. So I'm pretty excited about
06:36going into, um, you know, that, that, that little area with D Brown, who has been so special for the
06:43Boston Celtics and what he was able to do. Definitely. Definitely, man. Yeah. That's,
06:49that's what's up, man. I didn't know that. That's, that's cool. That should be a really cool night.
06:52But you wanted, you wanted information breaking stuff. So I'm trying to,
06:56you know, throw a bone to you. Although you're teasing me, I'm going to throw my bone at you
07:00real quick. We'll get into it. We'll get into it. All right. But check it out.
07:06Bold predictions. And I was thinking about trades here. I didn't even think about, well, I got,
07:10I guess I got one that's not so bold, but you kind of covered it because I was thinking maybe
07:14this is the year that Philadelphia finally makes it to use the conference finals. Maybe we get a
07:17Celtics 76 years, use the conference finals this year. You know, it's not so bold, but when you
07:23think about the last six, you know, post seasons, they just haven't been able to get to that,
07:28you know, beyond the second round, couldn't even get out of the first round last year. So,
07:32you know, I guess it's not that cool. I mean, I think that they, they were wounded
07:35and this is going to be their year. If they're going to make that move, it's going to be this
07:41Joel Embiid every year. I'm telling you, he's healthy. The more he gets, the older he gets
07:49carrying that kind of weight with that big body, it's going to be the wear and tear on it. We know
07:53he can play hard. We know what he's able to do, but you know, I just don't see the big fellow
07:59holding up and them not having and trying to have more weapons around him.
08:04Yeah. Especially those two scoring titles, you know, a lot of weight on the big fellow. Yeah.
08:08That's a good point. All right. So my role prediction is, is a trade between the Miami heat
08:15and the Golden State Warriors. I think Jimmy Butler gets out of Miami.
08:19This is the year, man. It's not looking great over there in Miami with between
08:28what Pat Riley had to say, you know, about the contract extension and all that stuff.
08:35You know what I mean? I smell smoke, man. I smell smoke.
08:39Let me, let me ask you then, who do you think is going to be in the trade? If you were,
08:43if you are Miami, what pieces do you have to give up to Golden State that they're going to
08:50utilize? I mean, to, or vice versa, what pieces do you have that Golden State is going to say,
08:55Oh, well, what is Golden State going to give you for Jimmy Butler? I mean, what piece do you have
09:01over there? Just to, just to make contracts work. We're talking about, okay. We're talking
09:05about Andrew Wiggins. We're talking about pods. I'm thinking, you know, you could throw pods in
09:11there. Kaminga, you know, you surrounded with some draft picks, but that's the best that they
09:16can do. You know, Max, I mean, that's the thing, but you know, it's not as bad as something is,
09:21you know, seeing him walk for free agency. You know, that's not a bad place to start
09:24for the Miami Heat, especially a couple of contracts are expiring.
09:27Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, man, that wouldn't be, that would not be a bad move. You know,
09:32there's somebody who is, I thought that would have been last year, but it's not,
09:37it seemed like it's not going to happen. But to me, when is it going to end right now for Trey
09:41Young down in Atlanta? I was talking about the guy who's going to be moving on, going someplace
09:47else. He will be the, he will be the guy for a while. I heard that the Lakers were interested
09:52and I'd be like, Bravo. If you want to get a small guard who can't defend with an older team.
10:01Yeah. But Max, if you're the Lakers, man, you, you looking for any type of all-star caliber
10:05player that's available. And that's a, that's a good one. I mean, that's a name that could pop up.
10:10You didn't, didn't that work out when you got Westbrook?
10:17It's not ideal, but that's the, that's where they're at triple doubles,
10:22came there with a pedigree and you know, and you're saying, okay, man, this, this got to work.
10:28You know what I like though. I, I'm going to love to see what this energy that
10:34Denver has though, uh, when you get Westbrook, you don't like that.
10:42If you're again, similar to the Lakers, if you're at that point, okay. Yeah, it's fine. But you,
10:47you let Caldwell Pope walk to the, to the Orlando magic. You let, you know what I mean? There was
10:51other options. Okay. Let's be honest. There was other options before Westbrook.
10:55They didn't have to go down like this.
10:57Hmm. Well, you're probably right. But I think if you're looking for a,
11:03a guy who plays hard, we know that a guy who defends the basketball and the thing that they
11:10lacked last year was they lacked energy off their bench. He is an energy guy. And I think
11:18he gives him an infusion of energy that could create some situations. Um, I mean, there's,
11:26I don't see Dallas getting back to the finals. You and I talked about that already.
11:31Uh, although clay Thompson comes over, becomes a shooter day one. I don't see where,
11:38unless you're telling me that we look in the crystal ball and on day one that we see Luca
11:46has dropped about 30 pounds and that he's willing and committed to play on his defensive end.
11:53If they don't do that, the first part of that, Mike, he's on his way. You know,
11:59you look at these pictures coming out of the workouts and stuff, but we'll see,
12:03we'll see what, how it translates on the floor for sure.
12:06Just where there's a thing called Texas. And if you ever been down there to eat,
12:10they feed you well down there. They feed you like that. Like you coming up to a trough man to eat.
12:18It's bigger and better in Texas. So I'm not gonna, until I see him, I'm not going to believe it.
12:26All right. So another one that's out there is, it's not one that I subscribe to, but it's a
12:30bold prediction that I've heard out there. It's it's with Giannis, you know, going to going out
12:36West, you know, that's the one I don't, I don't think that they're there yet. You know, they're
12:41still trying to figure this thing out with doc. He gets a full season, but I don't think that's
12:45something that's going to happen with the wars. Of course, you know, people were going to move
12:50Giannis again, or what, if you're saying you, you're talking about Giannis is a major piece.
13:00He's making 50, $60 million. This is the bucks we're talking about.
13:06You got to get that $60 million to the bucks. And if he went to go to the state,
13:12who's making that kind of money? Are you ready to say, is it time now for Draymond to move on?
13:17And if you are Milwaukee, are you saying, yeah, well, let me see. We'll take Draymond for
13:25Giannis. The next person who's going to get fired is a GM. You see, he's gone. If that,
13:32if, if that situation, obviously there's going to be more players involved in it, but
13:37I can't see Milwaukee blowing it up in that way.
13:40Right. Yeah. I mean, neither, neither. I don't think they're there. You know,
13:44I think that's something that's down the road and that's, you know, after a very disappointing
13:50season, you know, if that were to happen, maybe it happens because he's kind of hinted at that.
13:54But to me, that was more of him trying to get his guy and Damian Lillard, you know,
13:58and then he got him, you know, and then he didn't get the results he expected.
14:05I mean, how many players have we seen in this league right now? Kind of get what they want.
14:13And then it turns out it didn't work the way it was supposed to, you know, Giannis wanted Dane,
14:20didn't work out. LeBron wanted, uh, LeBron went out and Anthony Davis, they said, well,
14:26they okayed the Westbrook trade. Didn't work out. Sometimes you got to allow the GMs to do their
14:33jobs and, uh, who you want, why you want them. Sometimes it just doesn't fit. I mean, you think
14:42if you could plug in Westbrook is triple double every night to your office, isn't that supposed
14:48to be good? You would think how'd that work out? It didn't work out at all. Cause he was afraid
14:56at that time to shoot the basketball and he stopped attacking the rim because didn't want
15:01to shoot free throws. So that's why I think maybe in his case is good for him to leave.
15:08And I wouldn't be surprised. Let me give you a bold prediction.
15:11Westbrook is going to be, if there's a, if there's an award like this, Westbrook come back clear of
15:18the year or most improved, most improved. Yeah. Cause he's statistically is going off his worst
15:28season last year. So yeah. Yeah. So yeah. Westbrook let's go that way. If we want to say,
15:34you know, bold predictions. I like that. Okay. All predictions, you know, who endorsed him
15:40to off that team, right? Yoke is the joker himself. The, uh, he, he pushed for management
15:46to, uh, you know, consider signing him. And of course they did that. So
15:52not a bad endorsement, you know, well, we'll see how the players work out again.
15:56LeBron was one, you know, Giannis was one, but it didn't quite work out as well.

17:29It's guaranteed. Price Picks, run your game. Do you ever see Steph and LeBron teaming up somehow?
17:39That's another one. Not for this year, but people saying the seeds are going to be planted,
17:42or they've already been planted with Team USA. They talked about how cool it would be,
17:49that type of talk, but I don't know. I don't know if I see it happening.
17:54LeBron is the one who had to make it happen because he can be a free agent. He can walk,
18:01but you're talking about another year on those tires. Even you back in the day, Joe Sway,
18:07when you were driving your car, there's a certain point on those tires where you get
18:11a ball spot. You go, man, I don't think I can wait another year, another day, another month
18:17right now. Yeah. It gives you those hints. Yeah. So yeah. It's like, man, what is, yeah,
18:26those tires you might. So did they play well together in the Olympics? Yeah. But you're
18:32talking about the seven game, seven games or whatever it was, not a full duration.
18:40Six games and a couple of friendlies. LeBron has been unbelievable. I mean,
18:48I don't know. To me right now, if you start looking at his body of work, and I love Jordan,
18:55but his body of work is better than anybody's body of work that we've ever seen in the history
19:01of the NBA. So far scoring, rebounding, blocking, just a combination of them all. He is right now
19:09moving in that area. And I think that's what LeBron is like, man, if I could just get back
19:14and get one more championship that I could, then they will call me to go.
19:19So you think it would take him leaving the league? Is that what you're saying? Right?
19:22Yes. Yeah. That's what I'm thinking too.
19:26Steph just signed an extension for one year on the backside of his contract for $60 million.
19:33So Steph ain't going no place. He ain't coming down to LA. If anybody has to move,
19:40it's going to be LeBron moving up the coast. But man, I just, because by the time he would
19:47get there to do that, how old is LeBron now? 40, what? He's going to be 41 in December.
19:54Yeah. So 41 in December and you're playing this season. Make sure you're 42.
20:01I like what Kevin, I like that commercial he has with Kevin Hart talking about,
20:05you know, we're talking about 40. Yeah. We talking about somebody, he's a 40 year old
20:09dash. We don't, I just bust out. I was talking about LeBron and LeBron's age and, but
20:17he is the five logic right now. Yeah. It's impressive. It's impressive, man,
20:22especially seeing him with his son this year, man. However people feel about it,
20:27you got to respect how cool that is for a father and son. No.
20:33It ain't always cool.
20:37What do you mean? Okay. If he didn't play for the Lakers, you would be, you would be
20:43enjoying this moment then. You know what I mean? The way you are right now.
20:47Okay. Let me ask you this, since you want to turn it around.
20:50Where else could LeBron, where else could Bronny play right now? Who's team? Who's team?
20:57I'm not saying, no, I'm saying. Give me a team. Give me a team. Give me a team that
21:01guarantees his contract. I'm saying if LeBron didn't drag his son to the Lakers and if it was
21:07the Miami Heat or the Cleveland Cavaliers, you'd be like, come on, man, leave him alone.
21:12It's kind of a cool story.
21:13I would be, I still think the same thing because I just think there's, you know,
21:19NBA is tough enough, but the pressure you put on, on somebody or the pressure on that kid,
21:26LeBron likes to say, well, Bronny, let me tell you about Bronny. Well, obviously he knows his son.
21:32He said, Bronny don't give a fuck. He said, Bronny could give two shits about
21:37him, about what people think about him, which to me is in this particular era,
21:45I think that's a little strange because the kids that we know right now are fueled and driven
21:51by social media and look at the followers that Bronny has. So LeBron obviously knows his kid
22:02as well as anybody. I don't, but my belief is that, man, I wouldn't see that happening.
22:10Yeah. I mean, it's going to be interesting because does he, do you see him on the Lakers?
22:15He spent time in the G league, which is what mostly everyone is thinking should be the case
22:20for a late second rounder. I mean, that's usually the path. So we'll see, we'll see what happens
22:25there this, this upcoming season. So plenty to look forward to, man, plenty of storylines.
22:30And of course, adding to that is the returning champions, the Boston Celtics, like you
22:35mentioned, they're getting their rings. We're going to see the banner go up there, 2024 NBA
22:39champions, which former Celtic Shaquille O'Neal, but you forgot he's, you know, he was Celtic.
22:46Next. Now you look like you're mad at me. Like you thought I was going to say Robert Parrish
22:50or something like that. I remember Shaq being a Celtic. What did Shaq have to say?
22:55But you, I bet you didn't think of him when I said former Celtic though, did you?
22:58No, I did not. I didn't think that of that person being that, that person, but I can tell you what
23:03Shaq has seemed like he's hated on the Celtics since, you know, it was all,
23:07all this season. Um, also they can't win it. No, I think that they're not tough enough.
23:13They don't have a, don't have a B.
23:17Yeah. He was on the, anyone, but the Celtics.
23:21Yes. When he took the, almost like he took that Laker mentality, like anybody, but the Celtics.
23:28There were, there was some people last year that were jumping on bridges. Um, but again,
23:35to me this year for the Celtics, and I'm not sure if it was for you,
23:40but it seemed more of a relief that they wanted. Yeah. Um, yeah. Is it Colin? What's his name?
23:48Colin. Um, Capra, uh, Colin, that's the guy. He's the, um, the, uh, uh, sports.
24:01Yeah. Just the way he said that he, he went on last year. He was saying, I'm sorry, folks,
24:07but the Boston Celtics, they are the Buffalo bills of the NBA, meaning that they're going to get
24:16there to the Superbowl, but never win it, get there to the Superbowl and never win it. So,
24:23once that happened and that part is over now, what do the pundits, what do they say now?
24:31Is Jalen Brown coming back more pissed off? He's the finals MVP. It seemed like he got,
24:36you know, very little respect Tatum in the Olympics, you know, no respect. So man,
24:44it's going to be, I think they're going to have an exceptional year, especially
24:48and health has a lot to do with it. And man, if you can ever get poor Zingus back on the table
24:53and have him healthy going into the playoffs next year, there's going to be some hell to be paid.
24:59Well, he was one of the first ones that put up a message on social media that he's back,
25:03back in Boston, ready to work. But what Shaq did say is that it was the easiest path of all time.
25:10However, teams have to go into this season and back it up, you know, show that it took
25:15the health or it was because of the setbacks, you know, see, let's see how talented these guys are,
25:21or these teams are, how challenging they are to the Celtics. It's pretty much what Shaq is saying
25:25out to the rest of the NBA saying, back it up. What are you going to do about it? Looking at
25:29teams like the Philadelphia 76ers, the Milwaukee Bucks, the Miami Heat, and even the Orlando Magic.
25:35He's looking at teams in the East being like, which one are you guys going to knock the Celtics
25:39Miami Heat? Where is he getting that from? I know. I feel like he just threw that in there
25:42at the end too. He kind of ran along. Because he played with Miami. Where's Shaq get that from?
25:48I would have said Indiana before then for sure. Yeah. I mean, it's the Indiana,
25:53I don't think Indiana, New York. New York is a team that to me is the,
25:59I think that would be, that would be the cherry on the Sunday for the NBA.
26:06If the Knicks could advance to the finals and meet the Celtics. I mean, that would be
26:12my broadcast partner, Sean Grandin would go crazy. Him being from New York, New Yorkers.
26:21This past playoffs, man, we're supposed to get that.
26:24Yeah. Well, last year and all I heard last year, there was a certain point,
26:28even after it passed by last year, guy said to me, he said,
26:34he said, I just want to dance. And he was a Knicks fans, Knicks fan. He said, I just want
26:39to dance with you guys. And he said, I don't think we would beat you. I know we wouldn't
26:44beat you guys, but I just want to dance. I want to dance. We're healthy and a healthy New York
26:49Knicks team. They could present some problems. I mean, Julius Randle would be the key to anything
26:57they do. Does he come back and tip that apple cart over and make them that much better? I
27:05don't know. You can look at the other guys that they had and go on,
27:11but I just don't see him being, I don't see him being as good enough to beat the Celtics.
27:17Sorry, Spike Lee. Sorry, Spike. Sorry.
27:21Right, right. But when we're talking about potential Easter conference, you know,
27:26Easter conference finals, uh, you know, teams that could be there when the Celtics get there,
27:31you know, I, I throw them in there for sure. And between them and the field office 76s,
27:36that's my, that's my prediction. It would be, it would be, I, I, Philly, as I made that,
27:42that statement before, I just don't think their health is going to allow them to get back because
27:49you are so dependent on Joel Embiid having a complete year where he's healthy and his workload
27:57isn't over the top. Uh, Nick nurse last year, they tried to baby him a little bit, but you
28:04could tell in the playoffs, man, he was literally playing on one leg. So, um, I don't know. I don't,
28:11I don't see it being that way. Damn, man. You predicting an injury. It's messed up, man.
28:17No, it's just that it's not predicting. It's just what happens to an older player
28:24who's carrying that kind of that big frame and that big body. And the thing that he loves to do,
28:29he loves to throw his body into, into the middle of the mix. So I'm not predicting anything other
28:36than what I've seen in the last, how many years, uh, you know, with Joel Embiid.

30:22today. What time is it game time? You know, you know, it was another solid pickup that the six
30:27was signed outside of Paul George. Reggie Jackson, you know who he used to, who he used to play for
30:34the Denver Nuggets. Another one, another one. Like, how do you not make sure you retain him
30:41or Cardwell Pover? I don't know. Both of those guys. Yeah.
30:47Same team. Sometimes you don't have a Brad Stevens at the helm. Okay.
30:51Brad Stevens is Brad Stevens is what he's done. He's pushed all his chips into the middle of the
30:56day, but it's that I'm all in. If you are a poker player, if you play Texas, hold them.
31:03That's exactly what Brad just did. I'm all in. And who's going to come in with me who has the
31:09bluffing ability, who has enough that they can beat it. And you don't want to bring him back up,
31:14you know, a, a veteran group. And then Joe Missoula comes back who had an arguably
31:23he had a great year, but man, how many times have we seen him go to ballot with the media,
31:29him and that guy, Gary Washburn every time. And Gary, I remember we had Gary on the podcast and
31:35Gary said, did somebody ask him a question and he gave some kind of an answer that wasn't obvious.
31:44And Gary said, see, I'm not the only one. It's not just me. I'm not the only one that's, you know,
31:51as this guy out here doing what he does. Yeah, man, that whole, the whole, like the way
31:58their relationship evolved throughout last season was, was funny about the back and forth, but yeah,
32:03that was, that was great. I'm just happy that, uh, not, not only did it sell this, of course,
32:07within championship and all that, but like, I feel like they both sort of like, I don't know,
32:11like I was like this mutual respect for each other at the end. You know, I like to think so at least,
32:14but we'll see. Yeah. Well, I'm just seeing what that's going to be like, but then again,
32:18can it be adversarial again yet another year with, uh, under the helm of a jumbo?
32:25How's that going to be? Yeah, we'll see. We'll see max. But Hey, before we get out of here,
32:30I wanted to ask you, what was that last season? Uh, Shaq's final season in the NBA with the,
32:35that one season with the bosses of this, what was that like? Cause I know you travel on the bus and
32:39the plane and all that with, with the, uh, with the team. What was he, what was he like with the
32:43teammates with his teammates? Right. He was absolutely great, man. Um, you know, his teammates,
32:49he connected with him. He didn't come in as the big, he did things that were interesting. Like
32:55he would put his, he would tweet something like he put some of the sneakers out on, uh, you know,
33:03one 28, uh, in the tree someplace and would have people, you know, going to give them, uh, after
33:11a game, one time late night out at Hanscom we're driving. And all of a sudden this,
33:17these blue lights just come flying down the highway, uh, away from the airport.
33:22It's like, what is going on? It was Shaquille O'Neal because he's a, he's a, uh, he's a officer
33:28right now. Auxiliary officer. So he has those, he has those emergency lights and he is, he was a,
33:35he was a big kid, man. He was a big kid that wanted to win another championship. And when I
33:40saw him hurt his foot, I said, well, that's probably the last you're going to see your
33:44Shaquille O'Neal. And sure enough, that was the last that we ever saw of the great Shaq.
33:50Yeah, man, they signed two O'Neals for, uh, for, for, for backup at the center position
33:54and they both got hurt, man. That was, that was tough, man. Tough season. But yeah,
33:58shout out to Shaq. Uh, he said that on his, uh, recent episode of his podcast.
34:02So like he said, we'll see, we'll see how the NBA responds. We'll see how the Eastern conference
34:06responds to the champion Boston Celtics. Of course, we're weeks away from preseason
34:10and all that good stuff. It's getting chilly out there, Max.
34:14What I wanted to ask you before we got out of here, how'd you feel about your,
34:18on air? You know, I think we might've done it, touched on it, but your, your guy again,
34:23you know, his explanation, Shannon sharp. What'd he say? I didn't see it.
34:28Yeah. We was just talking about like, it was, it was a mistake and you know, I didn't do it. And
34:34then you know what I'm thinking, Max, I had a new theory on that. I'm glad you brought this up.
34:40What if it was the girl, you know, she wants to get some fame a little bit, you know, she just
34:51hit the live button real quick, put the phone down quickly right before, you know, I don't know.
34:59I don't think it's a butt dial. It's not that kind of thing. I don't know.
35:03It surprises me right now after watching what's going on with Puff Daddy and the names that are
35:08about to go through that ringer and some of the NBA players who probably were at his parties.
35:14You know, I know LeBron was at his party. They had a list of guys who probably were at the Puff
35:19Daddy parties. So it's not gonna be a very interesting, it's a nervous time for a lot
35:26of people out here in this world. You know, there's, they're talking about CEOs who have all
35:32of a sudden just said, I think I'm going to step down. And this guy said, I'm going to step down.
35:36And a lot of people are connecting a lot of this stuff to you know, even the guy from Nike steps
35:42down. A lot of people are connecting that with what happened right now with Puff Daddy. And man,
35:50the jerk guy, Cat Williams, was his take on everything will be exposed.
35:58This is the year. He called it. This is the year.
36:01Everything will be exposed. All these people that, this is it. I was like, damn,
36:07is your boy Nostradamus or something? Because everything, all hell has broke
36:12loose for all those people right now. Hell, T.D. Jakes, you know, who is a great minister,
36:19Potter's house. His name is-
36:21So wait, hold on. Are these rumored? Like, you think we're going to really get a list of names
36:25here? I feel like, I don't know what to, how to differentiate the rumors and the, you know,
36:30the gossip to what's actually going to come out from the, from the feds.
36:34Dude, the feds have it all, bro. And let me tell you why-
36:38Wait, are we going to see the list though? I know that part, right? Are we going to see the list?
36:42The list isn't what I'm thinking about. What you should be thinking about is videotapes.
36:50Because there were, yeah, there's a bunch of tapes out here that are floating around and they showed
36:56a segment on Arsenio Hall. And I want to say it was, it was Mike Tyson was sitting on the couch
37:04and was sitting beside Puff Daddy. And- I seen this.
37:07And Mike Tyson said, he grabbed Puff Daddy's hand. He said, I'm thinking we bought some furniture
37:13to be moved up here. You start touching my legs again. And so, oh, let me tell you, bro,
37:18there's some stuff out there going through the athletic world. All this, all their connections.
37:25When you're that awful and you have tentacles that have reached out all over the place,
37:30you hear about your guy, Jay-Z? That's your guy.
37:33What happened with Jay, man? No, people try to tie him in with this whole Puff,
37:37Puffs, you know, stuff, but- Do you think Jay-Z wasn't at one of his parties?
37:41I mean, what kind of parties are we talking about? I think I'd like to, I'd like to,
37:46I'd like to think that there was two different types of parties and that there was a different
37:51group for the other parties and there was the PG-13 party.
37:56Everybody knew the leave at a certain time. Is that what you're saying?
37:59Something like that. Yeah. Which I feel like it's been, I swear, it's been like a little
38:04ongoing joke with comedians on podcasts whenever they talk about this stuff or whenever they're
38:09asked, you know, kind of the older comedians, whenever they're asked, you know, have you ever,
38:13they're always like, one, that wasn't my kind of party, or two, you know, the kind of answer is,
38:18I went to one, but I left before things got here. I left at 12 o'clock, but shit,
38:24the hell, they're trying to get Beyonce in this thing. Beyonce, man, what could come out of this
38:31thing? I mean, Max, when you're talking about trafficking and things like that, I'm afraid to
38:36think of the worst, you know, the absolute worst. You know, the man is on, as bad as everything
38:41happened with R. Kelly, this man's on suicide watch. He's on suicide watch and his tentacles
38:49reach a lot further than R. Kelly. R. Kelly was dope. Those people we saw on the tape,
38:57things he did, but how many times, how many pictures I see with Donald Trump and Puff Daddy?
39:07Puffy was that dude.
39:10But that's the thing, Max, people thinking about Epstein Island and thinking about,
39:14like, because none of that is, you know, you know what I mean? Like, there's no way to say,
39:19oh, it couldn't have been that bad. Of course it could be that bad. The feds got him, they're
39:24talking about a minimum of 15 years. Like, we're talking about the absolute worst. This could be
39:28the worst.
39:29A man had a thousand bottles of baby oil in his house.
39:35Max, do you think he purchased a thousand bottles?
39:38A thousand bottles.
39:39That jumps away. How did they get, the Johnson and Johnson, how,
39:43what is their product going right now? A thousand bottles.
39:48Max, how many lifetime purchases do you think you've purchased?
39:51784 deal dollars.
39:55Oh, that part, I didn't know. I didn't know about that part.
39:58These are the reports that are out there, which things that the feds seized.
40:03Yeah, but the baby oil thing is crazy, Max. One bottle is like a seven year supply, at least,
40:10or something like that. A thousand? I bet you, you probably purchased about 500 in your life.
40:18Maybe.
40:18500 what? What the hell are you getting to with jokes?
40:24What do you mean? You've got kids. You've got baby oil for your kids, no?
40:28Just if I purchased 10 bottles of baby oil during my entire lifetime, and I got kids,
40:35please let me know. No, no, no, no.
40:38I thought that'd be an extra, I don't know, extra 100, 200.
40:41Extra, extra. There's an extra 900, 950 bottles that I'm going to get. What, what?
40:48Yeah, I just remember back in the day, those would be like,
40:50those things would get so dusty. You'd rarely see a new one, nevermind a thousand of them.
40:57Less than ever. You know, there's a thousand?
41:03That's where you go to this party, you open up the refrigerator, you're going,
41:07what's going on here? What the hell is happening?
41:12Max, I grew up a fan, man. I was a pup daddy.
41:16Everybody, just like I was out, I'm still a fan of the music of R. Kelly.
41:23Doesn't separate what he did from the music, doesn't separate the creativity
41:29for what Sean puppy cones did in the music industry, but where is that right now?
41:36None of us who would want to be, because you're talking about being locked up
41:42and no parole, no parole, flight risks. They're like, nah, you can't go. And you're on suicide
41:50watch. So that means every 15 minutes or every 10 minutes they're coming by yourself.
42:00We remember what happened with your guy from, from the Patriots, you know, Hernandez.
42:10He was supposed to be on suicide watch and they, whoever it was, didn't get there. Didn't do their
42:17due diligence. You can rest assured that doing the Feds are doing their due diligence. Hell,
42:21if you, you're puffy, hell, you can't damn sleep. Cause they always looking in your room
42:25where you're, you're being monitored the whole time. I mean, he, he,
42:30who's telling my son the path with the devil, man. But I just think the bold prediction I'm
42:35going to be is that that's going to somehow come into the world of sports.
42:43Well, we'll see, man. We'll see you with that. We'll run with this episode of the
42:46Cedric Maxwell podcast, man. That took a left right at the end. I don't, I don't mind it though.
42:50I don't mind it. It's gotta be discussed. You know, we're going to talk about it at some point.
42:54So why not? You know, let's just talk about it. A thousand bottles.
43:00That was crazy. Okay. As you, as you say, the lifetime supply, I want to know
43:05in your mama's house, you got four people in a ball seven, maybe lasted for years, for years.
43:18Yeah. Right. I said seven, not even like two, the same ones,
43:23the same dusty ass bottle that was in your mama's house. And we still,
43:30I, we might not have no clue, but we got baby all the way.
43:34One teaspoon at a time. Yeah, absolutely.
43:39All right. It's going to do it, man. We'll see you guys next week. He's Cedric Maxwell.
43:42I'm Joseph. We'll see you guys, man. All right. Thanks for tuning in.
