00:00Previously on The Apprentice, the teams were challenged to renovate and run a motel on the Jersey Shore.
00:07The team which gets the highest score from its guests is going to win.
00:12Net Worth's project manager, Brian, immediately dumped the toilets.
00:16The toilets are already disassembled and pulled out.
00:19You're not going to know if you're sitting on a $500 toilet or a $5 toilet. Your ass doesn't know the difference.
00:25Putting him at odds with his team.
00:27Donald Trump is exactly the same way I am. And if people don't like it, they can go frig themselves.
00:32Do you think that? You are a silly little man.
00:35When Verna couldn't handle the pressure.
00:38I'm tired. I have quit.
00:40I'm just not playing this game anymore.
00:42She left her team.
00:43She left the Fremses?
00:44Yeah, I think so, yeah.
00:46But when Verna decided to return.
00:48This was the last time I needed to cry.
00:50Not everyone welcomed her back.
00:52Verna was not thinking about anyone but herself.
00:54She screwed the team. She screwed herself. It was terrible.
00:58Magna won on customer service.
01:00Magna, you win.
01:03Sending Net Worth to the boardroom where Chris lost his cool.
01:07I do refurbish homes. I never said I've got in hands-on construction time.
01:13Angie, should Chris be fired?
01:15Absolutely. I think Brian has more leader potential than Chris.
01:19But for Brian, being a leader meant taking the blame.
01:22It is my fault that I lost.
01:24Okay, should I fire you now?
01:26Yes, you should.
01:27Brian, you're fired.
01:3116 candidates are left.
01:33Who will be fired this week?
01:50I did it!
01:52Some people got to have it.
01:57Some people really need it.
02:00Listen to me, y'all.
02:02Do things, do things, do things, bad things.
02:09Dollar bills, y'all. Come on.
02:11Bad deed, oh deed.
02:15Made great on my desire.
02:19I don't know that money.
02:23Give me a nickel, brother, can you buy that?
02:28Money can drive some people out of their mind.
02:35No good, no good.
02:37Money, money, money, money.
02:42Money.
03:08No, no, no.
03:20I'm really happy we're moving ahead as the same team with Verna on the next test.
03:27I can't wait to get going tomorrow.
03:29We're going to succeed the next one. This is going to be great.
03:32We're starting to get along.
03:34It's nice.
03:38Hi.
03:39Whoa.
03:40This is the first.
03:41Hey, you're going to be surprised.
03:43Yeah, I like to hear this story.
03:44Count how many people are walking in right now.
03:46What happened?
03:47There was no three people brought back to the boardroom.
03:49There was no people brought back to the boardroom.
03:50He fired Ryan right then and there.
03:51What?
03:52What?
03:53What happened?
03:54He's an idiot, walking.
03:55Everybody was just stunned by the fact that he basically said to himself, I'm fired.
04:00But then everybody was like, no, he didn't do that.
04:05No, I can't.
04:07The fact that Brian gets fired without even going to the final three signified that, you know, Trump doesn't screw around.
04:13Rules can be broken.
04:14There are no rules in Trump's boardroom.
04:27Anybody to talk to?
04:28Do I need somebody to talk to?
04:30Yeah.
04:31Oh, it'll be fine.
04:33Thank you for coming in here.
04:34Can I sit down for a second?
04:35Yeah.
04:36Verna's having a tough day, I think, getting her energy back and such.
04:39She's looking run down, but hopefully this day of recuperation will get Verna back into the flow for the next task.
04:47I definitely have inner strength to stay here and stick with this, but I'm not feeling very well and I'm feeling really sick.
04:57But here's the way I look at it.
04:59If you have to lay in bed all day because you're sick, let us worry about that.
05:02Let us be sensitive to that.
05:04Verna was in a tough emotional state, so I wanted to just get everyone together as a support group.
05:10Just sort of let them know where Verna was, that she was feeling down and out.
05:14So Verna's still not feeling well, and so we're here to support Verna in whatever you do.
05:21And if she's not feeling well tomorrow, we have to go to do this task and she's got to stay in the suite.
05:25You know, that's cool.
05:27Danny was just like, OK, well, whatever you need to do.
05:30I mean, this clearly isn't The Apprentice.
05:32This is clearly kindergarten, so if you need the day off, you sit home and rest while the rest of us work very, very hard.
05:39We just all do sincerely support you, and I know everybody does.
05:43Well, I don't think if you can't go to the mission, I don't know if I think, like, OK, so what happens if we lose and you don't go?
05:52But, you know, that's...
05:53I'm just asking a technical, practical, real-life question.
05:56But...
05:57And that's my question. Are you going to quit in the 11th hour?
05:59It's not about...
06:01I don't want to hear the rhetoric. I want to hear if you're going to leave us stranded again.
06:05Let me tell you, I'm not feeling very well, so...
06:07Neither am I.
06:08It's not about whether I want to quit in the 11th hour. Of course you don't want to quit in the 11th hour.
06:12Of course you don't want to give up and say, oh, you know, I can't do this or I can't do that.
06:16To be honest with you, I think Verna's fine.
06:18I think Verna had a little bit of a breakdown.
06:20She couldn't take the pressure of this fast-paced business environment that we're in.
06:23She didn't look sick at all to me.
06:25I feel more sick, and I think I look more sick than she did.
06:29Honestly, I've been resting all day long.
06:31I don't...
06:32I don't think that it's going to get better.
06:39I'm sorry for the team, but I'm not feeling well, so I probably should go ahead and go.
06:49I had a loss for words.
06:52I'll give you my hugs.
06:57You're the bravest.
07:01Danny is probably more bummed out about it than anyone.
07:04I look at it like this.
07:05You've got to have a burning desire to be here, and if you don't, then you're not going to make it.
07:09And Verna didn't have that.
07:12Take care of yourself.
07:13All right.
07:14Go all the way.
07:15Yes.
07:19Keep that for yourself.
07:22You're welcome.
07:26I think it's bullshit that Verna quit.
07:28Having to deal with somebody wanting to quit and whine over things is just not beneficial to the team.
07:35Sometimes there's situations that people are not used to being in.
07:40I think Verna, you know, has a lot to learn in terms of a fast-paced business environment.
07:45Oh my God, that's my favorite.
07:46Isn't that awesome?
07:47Love that.
07:48Ooh, ooh, where'd you get the rice?
07:49It's so cute.
07:50So do I.
07:51Is that what that is?
07:52Aaron, you want a piece of bread?
07:53No.
07:55It's better to have people that want to be there and want to get the job done.
08:00You don't want to be there.
08:01You want to be a nuisance.
08:02You're useless.
08:03You're a pain in the ass.
08:04You're a pain in the ass.
08:05You're a pain in the ass.
08:06You're a pain in the ass.
08:07You don't want to be a nuisance.
08:08You're useless.
08:09Just depart.
08:10Just go.
08:12It's a huge opportunity to give up.
08:13How can you just stop and just quit?
08:16At least get fired with some dignity.
08:27I've rarely seen a leader that's been able to lead by consensus.
08:31A leader is somebody that oftentimes will go against everybody.
08:35That's what a leader is.
08:36That's what a leader is.
08:37Pete, why would you send this to them anyway?
08:39Break down the line items of the budget.
08:40No, but why wouldn't you let him send it to you?
08:43You're not supposed to send him anything.
08:44He's bidding on a job.
08:45Generally speaking, a leader has to think independently.
08:49I think if it's better if you say you got a better price and cut them down to 15-5,
08:53and then I'm going to forget about what happened.
08:55Okay?
08:56Okay?
09:06Hi, is this Rona?
09:07Yes, this is Rona.
09:08This is Danny from Team Magna.
09:10One of our team members, Verna, she's decided to leave.
09:15As a team, we're really sorry to see her go,
09:17and if you can relay that message to Mr. Trump and let him know, I'd appreciate it.
09:22I will let him know that Verna has quit.
09:24Now, please head down to Times Square and meet Mr. Trump as soon as possible.
09:28Bye.
09:52Good morning.
09:53Good morning.
09:54When we began, I told you how tough this was going to be.
09:58I said it's going to be the toughest time that you've ever had maybe in your life.
10:03Verna couldn't hack it.
10:06She quit.
10:07She left.
10:08In life, people quit.
10:10In companies, people quit.
10:12Does anybody else want to quit?
10:14No.
10:15Okay.
10:16Now, the largest food company in the world is called Nestle.
10:22Nestle is worth more than $100 billion.
10:27So that's $96 billion more than I'm worth, and I'm not happy with that.
10:33Today, you'll be working with their premium coffee brand, Nescafé Tasters Choice,
10:39and it's really good, believe me.
10:41Each team has $75,000 given to you by these two fine executives from Nescafé,
10:50and you're going to create a marketing campaign.
10:53There's no reason why your ideas shouldn't be big.
10:58The team which creates the most buzz, the most excitement, as judged by these two fine executives, wins.
11:06Now, Michael, you're exempt.
11:08You know that.
11:09Okay?
11:10You were on the winning team, so should you lose, you're exempt.
11:12Okay?
11:13George and Carolyn are my eyes and ears.
11:16As always, the losing team to the boardroom where somebody will be fired.
11:22Good luck.
11:26Nice seeing you.
11:29Hello, everybody.
11:47Do you all want to pick a project manager and an accountant?
11:50Sure.
11:51I'm going to say, Danny, the first person I thought of was you,
11:54just because this has to do with creativity and marketing and advertising,
11:57and that's totally your avenue, and I have total faith in you.
12:01All right.
12:02Accept the task.
12:03The goal today is to create a huge buzz for Nescafé.
12:06We're going to be judged in numerous areas on the creativity of our ideas,
12:10on representing the product well,
12:13and we've got to get people in here that are excited about our event.
12:16There should be costumes, you know, and they're all in tires.
12:19Like a big coffee mug guy in a costume.
12:22Every cafe that you go to in Europe, they have frappes made at Nescafé.
12:26Everything is Nescafé.
12:28A European lifestyle.
12:29A biscotti that goes with it.
12:30European models give away mopeds.
12:32The whole atmosphere, the whole lifestyle.
12:35Trust me, everybody loves a beautiful European model.
12:39That's true.
12:40Michael did not take anything seriously on this task.
12:43He's offering up hookers and models and those types of, you know, situations.
12:47He knew he was exempt.
12:48Therefore, he pretty much just sat back and enjoyed the ride.
12:51I'd buy ice from her in the middle of the winter, if she was a beautiful model.
12:54It'd make a difference.
12:55You're going to alienate women.
12:57You're going to attract more men.
12:59You're going to double up on the men.
13:01Mike comes up with one idea, and he's just, that's the best idea ever.
13:04I'm the smartest guy ever.
13:07That's the best thing I can tell you.
13:09Okay, Mike.
13:11He's sealing his own fate with that sort of approach and attitude.
13:14Eventually, he's gone.
13:16Mike, we're here for you, baby.
13:17We're going to take all your ideas, big ideas, and it'll happen.
13:21Just for you, Mike.
13:27All right, I had a couple different things.
13:29Doing a raffle with money.
13:31If you walk around and you're screaming at the top of your lungs,
13:34we're offering $5,000.
13:36Everybody come out to this location.
13:38You're going to get people there.
13:39That's a fact.
13:40Absolutely.
13:41I'd like to throw my hat into the ring for being the project manager.
13:44What my idea was, my concept for the Taster's Choice is all American.
13:50You do have a choice.
13:52Make it Taster's Choice.
13:54The hot air balloon, an election.
13:56Uncle Sam, all American, patriotic.
13:59I'd love to have a marching band.
14:01We could have a baton flame girl or something.
14:04I don't know.
14:05We do have a choice.
14:07It doesn't have to be Starbucks.
14:08I like it a lot.
14:10Angie decided that she wanted to be project manager,
14:13and she was passionate about it, so I think she's going to do a good job.
14:17If she can keep it cool, keep it fun,
14:20she's going to do a good job.
14:22I think she's going to do a good job.
14:24If she can keep it cool, keep it real,
14:27and not have a nervous breakdown in the meantime.
14:29Hold on.
14:30Hey, let's focus.
14:31We've got five minutes to decide on this.
14:33I want everybody on this right now.
14:35The day of the task?
14:36Oh, God, look out.
14:37The day of the task, she'll be my mother Thanksgiving Day morning.
14:40Trust me.
14:41She'll be insane.
14:42She just gets panicked, and we'll see how it goes.
14:45Choose Nescafé today.
14:47$5,000 giveaway.
14:49Everybody say hey.
14:50I don't know if you want one.
14:59Okay, I need to send this out.
15:01Now, guys, keep in mind, the longer we wait,
15:04the less leverage we have to negotiate.
15:06I don't think we have a lot of room to negotiate right now.
15:08My job was finding an event planner
15:12that we could outsource all the little things that need to be done
15:16to have them be responsible for everything.
15:18I'm doing a request for a quote, so this is what I'm saying.
15:21Okay.
15:22But no one seems to know really what exactly is this ad campaign going to entail.
15:27There's so much chaos going on in our warm room.
15:29Dani is not controlling the team.
15:32I'm just going to hide under the table.
15:37Hi, this is Darren.
15:38Hi, Darren, it's Stephanie Myers from MagnaCorp.
15:40How are you?
15:41Good, I was just about to call you.
15:42We're looking at the quote right now.
15:43Great.
15:45$37,000 for everything done.
15:47$47,000.
15:48That's $4,003.
15:49Wait a second.
15:50How long can you keep this open, this quote?
15:54Oh, I don't know.
15:56I'm at my wit's end because this is just such an awkward position.
16:00We had no idea what we were doing.
16:02We talked to an event planner and they could do everything for us,
16:05but Dani was not able to make a decision when we needed to make key decisions.
16:09I fax you over an agreement right now and you sign it within 60 seconds.
16:14Okay, that's impossible.
16:16That's impossible.
16:17I'm sorry.
16:21Come back here.
16:22Come back here.
16:23Work with us.
16:24We have nothing.
16:25We have not even an idea, no campaign.
16:28It was a lot of money for this event planner,
16:30and I could not even give him our idea of the type of campaign we were going to move forward with
16:36or the types of necessities we would require because we didn't have a buzz.
16:41We had no marketing campaign.
16:43We don't want to lose this.
16:45Let's make a decision to move ahead.
16:47As a group, let's vote.
16:49Should we move ahead and make the order with Darren because now is the time.
16:54Anybody else agree?
16:55Mike?
16:56I agree.
16:57Okay.
16:58No way.
16:59I'm not doing it.
17:00I'm not going down for this one.
17:01No, I'm just saying.
17:02That's a lot of money.
17:05I don't know.
17:06Dani called the vote, but I forced the decision.
17:09No, it's not what we think.
17:10It's what you want to do.
17:11Make a decision.
17:12In order to have any plan that's going to work, there's no choice.
17:16Dani just waited too long to make decisions.
17:20We wouldn't have been in the time crunch if he would have just made decisions earlier.
17:25We have to sign with him, I feel like.
17:27Let's call Darren for final.
17:29We're at our 20 to 10 minutes.
17:31You're the project manager.
17:32I will get him on the phone for you, and then you can talk to him.
17:36Here you go.
17:37I'm calling him right now.
17:38There you go.
17:40Hi, this is Darren.
17:41Hey, Darren.
17:42So here's the deal.
17:43We called you within your time frame.
17:44We're going to sign it and fax it over.
17:46You're welcome.
17:47All right.
17:48Hey, thank you.
17:49Thank you so much.
17:50Bye.
17:53Dani went to the last minute to make a decision.
17:56He just is so unorganized.
17:59You don't have time to be unorganized.
18:01You have to be organized, and you have to make decisions.
18:03And I knew this was not good.
18:09I'm sorry.
18:19Are we back to the on-the-go thing, or what now?
18:22Because our time is running out.
18:25After we signed the contract, we still needed a big idea to promote the product.
18:29And then Bren came up with the iPod.
18:31Since I've been in New York City, the one thing I noticed, everybody walking has the earphones in, cup of coffee.
18:36It all goes together.
18:37It really does.
18:38A different idea.
18:39I want everybody's feedback on this.
18:41On-the-go iPods.
18:43iPods.
18:44Everybody wants an iPod.
18:46Everybody wants an iPod.
18:47The minis are only $300.
18:49What if we gave an iPod away, like, every 20 minutes?
18:51Or every 15 minutes?
18:52We could do it even every 10 minutes.
18:54Totally.
18:55iPods are great.
18:56Do we have to give an HP iPod away?
18:58That's the bottom line?
19:00Everybody was on board with the iPod concept, except for Mike.
19:03He's not open to any other ideas once he has his one big idea.
19:06What would make you stop?
19:07What would you stop for?
19:08Number one, beautiful women serving coffee.
19:10Number two, the giveaway.
19:12Not a friggin' iPod.
19:13I don't even know how to use an iPod.
19:15People with money don't walk, they drive.
19:17Michael is acting just like a child who doesn't get his way.
19:20If someone wins exemption, I do not feel that they should just fly by and not perform to the best of their abilities.
19:26We have $4,780 left.
19:29Okay, we need serving trays just for...
19:32Yes, we need to find...
19:34Mike, if you need a timeout in the corner, let me know.
19:36Okay.
19:37Mike is just a plain jackass.
19:39How did he get here?
19:41Hello!
19:42Where did Mike come from?
19:44We're going to have a nice high school production tomorrow.
19:46I'm switching phones with you, Brian.
19:47Mike, I want you to stop talking about the promotion.
19:50Don't bother me.
19:51I'm not bothering you, man.
19:52I give you an idea and you f*** it up.
19:54Mike, I'm making the priorities around here.
19:56Calm down.
19:57All right, man.
19:58The last person you want to cluster is me, and I promise you that.
20:06This morning, we're trying to move things from the Nescafe corporate office over to Bryant Park.
20:18It was a lot of product.
20:20Danny and myself, we're working our ass off.
20:22And what's Michael doing?
20:23He's sitting on a chair.
20:24And Danny says, get up, you a**hole.
20:27And Michael, he blew a gasket.
20:29Get your ass moving.
20:30Now.
20:31You tell me one more time, buddy.
20:32I'm just telling you, get going.
20:34If you yell at me one more time, I'm going to f*** out the window.
20:36If you throw me out the window, I don't think that will bode well for you.
20:39Don't f*** with me.
20:40Alex.
20:41I don't feel good.
20:42Shut up.
20:43Then why don't you come and tell me then?
20:44Shut the f*** up.
20:46It wasn't worth the reaction that Michael gave to Danny.

30:54We understand the situation is
30:56there's an exemption, but when you give a gift to somebody,
30:58especially a gift from you, you don't
31:00expect somebody to abuse it.

31:08He didn't earn it. Don't forget, he does
31:10have an exemption and we do have to live in this
31:12world by the rules.
31:14Ask the SEC, ask the people that run
31:16the world. You have to live by
31:18rules. He has an exemption.
31:20Mr. Trump, however, from
31:22a legal perspective, every contract,
31:24every corporate bylaw,
31:26there are words and they don't exist in a
31:28vacuum. They have meanings
31:30and they have exceptions.
31:32Exemption is a word that has meaning
31:34and possibly, if you guys agree,
31:36maybe exceptions. So you think he should
31:38come back to the boardroom and you actually think he should
31:40be fired? That's for you to decide,
31:42sir. But I know you... But if you were me,

31:48who has personal integrity. And if I were
31:50faced with Danny or Michael... Why do you think he doesn't have
31:52personal integrity? These are very strong
31:54statements. Anyone that abuses
31:56exemption and dangles

32:12That was idiotic. Now whose idea
32:14was that? Huh? I
32:16found the event planner.
32:18I called a few event planners. By the way, what did you
32:20think of the event planner? Were they good or were they terrible?
32:22Actually, they were wonderful. They pulled off
32:24a wonderful event. They were good. If it weren't
32:26for that event planner, we would have had
32:28slim to none. We would have had nothing.

32:36There were no decisions made.
32:38I had to make your decisions for you, Stephanie.
32:40I'm talking... Please.
32:42The question was, very simply,
32:44what do you think of Danny as a team leader?
32:46Was he good? Was he bad? I wish the
32:48decisions were made more promptly.
32:50Now, Brent,

32:54Who is responsible for the loss?
32:56I hate to say this, but the biggest responsibility
32:58for the loss itself, the loss itself
33:00and nothing else, was Danny.
33:02If I could fire anyone, without any
33:04doubt, I'd fire Michael, because Michael

33:14and everybody's blaming him, but
33:16who's responsible for the loss? He wasn't responsible

33:20should fall on Danny's shoulders.

33:44That's a great question. Constantly, I

34:14You can. I know what the question's going to bring.
34:16Can you bring somebody who's exempt
34:18with you? Is that your question? I can obviously
34:20bring them in, but can they be fired?
34:22I'm not sure that you can bring them in,
34:24but you can certainly suggest it.

36:58Yeah, pretty insulting.
37:00Stephanie, you thought Danny
37:02wasn't much of a leader? Not
37:04when it comes to decision making. You thought
37:06Michael wasn't much either, right? Neither
37:08one. I mean, you think they're two
37:10male losers, is that correct?
37:12Correct. My thing is
37:14you are going to
37:16sign over $50,000.
37:18You, as a leader, at this level where we're at,
37:20you do not take a vote amongst
37:22the team. It was ridiculous.
37:24Take ownership. It was ridiculous. Take ownership?
37:26It was your choice, Stephanie,
37:28to procure the vendors. I provided you what I got. $75,000
37:30budget. Mike. If we serve 3,000 cups of coffee...
37:32I'm not talking to you right now. That was $25 a cup.
37:34Truth of the matter is, when you pay $50,000
37:36for people to run an event, let them
37:38run it. I simply handed out flyers.
37:40Michael, do you think you should be fired?
37:42I do not think so, Mr. Trump. Why not?
37:44I think I did a great job...
37:46A great job? This is ridiculous.
37:48A great job in what?
37:50I think I did a great job in giving great ideas
37:52and putting things forward.
37:54Alright, Michael, let me just tell you.
37:56Okay, absolutely. I think you did a
37:58terrible job. I don't think
38:00you did anything close to being good.
38:02I think your job was terrible.
38:06Stephanie,
38:08I believe that
38:10you are better than I thought.
38:12I really do. Everybody seems
38:14to be of the opinion
38:16that getting the event planner
38:18was a good thing and that the event planner
38:20did a good job. The difference is
38:22you wanted it sooner rather than later.
38:24So I don't think you have
38:26to worry about being fired right now.
38:28Thank you, Mr. Trump.
38:32You guys should be ashamed
38:34of yourself, both of you.
38:36I think Michael did a terrible, terrible
38:38job. Honestly.
38:40But you know, when you get right down to it,
38:42you've done a terrible job also.
38:44You were late with the event planner.
38:46In my opinion,
38:48you paid too much money
38:50to the event planner, and maybe that's partially
38:52Stephanie's fault.
38:54You know what I hated more than anything else?
38:56When I asked you to choose two people,
38:58you chose
39:00one person
39:02who's exempt, and that either
39:04shows a lot of imagination or
39:06somebody that doesn't want to play by the rules.
39:08Michael was
