00:00After a bit of a chill this week temperatures will be ticking up this
00:04weekend with much of the south enjoying plenty of sunshine there will be some
00:08rain further north. If you're watching this on YouTube don't forget to hit
00:11subscribe. Here's the bigger picture high pressure that's bringing the fine
00:16weather to the south but notice there is a low pressure up near Iceland as that
00:20tracks its way east with these weather fronts just dangling down across Britain
00:24will bring some patchy rain and the ice above squidging together as well
00:28suggesting particularly on Saturday it's going to be windy across northern
00:32Scotland. The ice above is pretty well spaced though across the south so light
00:35winds and plenty of fine weather that weather front just trickles a bit
00:38further south through Saturday night and into Sunday. Let's look at the rainfall
00:42that is going to produce this map is showing the six-hour accumulations of
00:47rainfall building up across the northwest particularly over the
00:51Highlands as we go through Saturday and then the rain will spread further south
00:56on Saturday night and into Sunday again just picking out the high ground there
01:00over Cumbria and North Wales. Further south and further east many places
01:04won't see a drop of rain throughout this weekend. In fact much of the south will
01:09start fine and with plenty of blue skies but it is going to be a chilly start to
01:13the weekend across most of England and Wales temperatures in single figures
01:17notice the winds picking up further north it will be a blustery day with
01:20rain persisting over the Western Isles and the Highlands and some of that rain
01:24at times getting to the north and the west of Northern Ireland. A little bit
01:28maybe through the Central Belts but generally across southern and eastern
01:32Scotland dry but fairly cloudy. A bit of cloud at times for England and Wales but
01:36generally here it's a good-looking day for late summer early autumn with plenty
01:42of sunshine. Yes it will be a bit chilly first thing but by the afternoon
01:45temperatures just ticking up a little bit so back closer to average for the
01:49time of year a little bit milder than it has been for the past few days for
01:54sure. Now as you go through Saturday night and into Sunday that weather front
01:58will continue to track its way at southwards but just rewinding back to
02:02Friday and showing you that big picture again because we start off with the cold
02:07air in place across the UK it's been drifting down from the Arctic through
02:11the week but as that low moves in from the north notice how it's also dragging
02:16in the higher temperatures the warmer air is moving in through the course of
02:20the weekend so temperatures say back closer to average on Saturday much
02:24milder night Saturday night and into Sunday morning as well. The position of
02:29this weather front still open to a little bit of doubt it's going to wave
02:32and wiggle around but it will bring some of these central zones southern Scotland
02:37Northern Ireland Northern England maybe North Wales outbreaks of rain during
02:40Sunday and it may stick around particularly over parts of northwest
02:44England well into the afternoon. A little bit of shower rain possible across
02:49southwest Wales and there will be showers getting into northern Scotland
02:53but a good part of the far northwest much drier on Sunday compared to
02:57Saturday and notice across the south it's another fine day by and large yes
03:01maybe a bit more cloud over the Midlands and South Wales but still hazy sunshine
03:05is likely and a little bit warmer as well as that milder air moves in
03:09temperatures could take up to 20 Celsius further north temperatures in the high
03:13teens so again quite a bit milder than it has been still quite breezy across
03:18the far north of Scotland particularly early on on Sunday morning. Next week at
03:22high pressure may well dominate for most of us. For more information on that make
03:27sure you're following us across social media as I said if you're watching on
