00:00Peace in Mindanao has come a long long way and is still a work in progress. Yet
00:05so much has been achieved beginning with the inking of a peace pact between the
00:10government and the Moro National Liberation Front over a quarter of a
00:14century ago. And hopes are high and the odds in favor of success of this peace
00:20deal yielding more as the president celebrated today's auspicious occasion
00:24in line with the observance of National Peace Consciousness Month as our bien
00:29Manalo reports. Rest assured that you can depend on this administration to
00:36implement all signed peace agreements for the security the inclusive progress.
00:42This was assured by President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr. in the continued promotion
00:47of peace in the Philippines in line with the celebration of the National Peace
00:52Consciousness Month this September. Today the president spearheaded the
00:57commemoration of the 28th anniversary of the 1996 Final Peace Agreement
01:03between the government of the Philippines and the Moro National
01:06Liberation Front or MNLF. Since the agreement was inked, more than 7,000
01:12MNLF combatants have returned to the folds of the government and joined the
01:17Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police. Back in 2022
01:22the president also presided over the oath-taking of MNLF officials as new
01:28members of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority as a mark of peace, unity and
01:34reconciliation agenda. As a country's national peace agency we hold on to our
01:39commitments to work closely with our peace partners in ensuring the
01:44implementation of all our signed peace agreements. The promotion of
01:48transformation programs that help former MNLF combatants and their families
01:52and communities will be further intensified. So my fellow Filipinos, the
01:57dividends of the peace that we have worked so hard to achieve are now upon
02:02us and the responsibility to create a more inclusive and prosperous country
02:07now lies in our hands. Meanwhile, BARMM officers ensured the peaceful and
02:13orderly conduct of the first Bangsamoro election next year.
02:17As MNLF, we are assured that at least whatever falls on us, we will fulfill it in a peaceful way.
02:25The Bangsamoro government are working very efficiently. That is as a result of
02:34the implementation of all the programs of the Bangsamoro government with the
02:40support of the national government. And on the first day of September, the
02:44Peace Bell was rung at the Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City to mark
02:48the start of the celebration of the annual National Peace Month. Various
02:53activities were also scheduled, including the conduct of the Peace Education
02:57Summit and the 38th commemoration of the Sipat Peace Accord in conjunction
03:03with the birthday celebration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on
03:07September 13. Bien Manalo from the National TV Network for a new and
03:13better Philippines.
