00:00A very good morning to you on this Thursday. Today we watch as cloud and rain slowly encroaches
00:06northwards and eastwards and it turns muggy yet again. Now overnight into this morning we watch
00:12as this area of cloud and rain has just moved in across the southwest. Low pressure drifts to the
00:18north of the UK and this is the back edge of the cloud and rain through Thursday eventually
00:23clearing towards the far southeast and the far northeast into Friday. So first thing if you are
00:29stepping out you may run into a shower across Shetland and Orkney, a keen breeze here. The bulk
00:33of Scotland is a fine start to the day with some sunshine extending towards eastern counties of
00:39England, the Midlands as well as the southeast. Lots of low cloud for Northern Ireland, some
00:43patchy rain here towards the south and more persistent rain just moving in across Wales as
00:47well as the West Country. A bit of a breeze to start the day across Irish sea coasts as well
00:51as the southwest and eventually we'll see this rain move northwards as well as eastwards. So
00:57through the first part of this morning you can see where the best weather is, always central and
01:01eastern areas make the most of the sunshine, eventually you'll see some cloud here. But through
01:05the morning it is wet across Wales as well as the West Country. Lots of low clouds shrouding the
01:10hills and mountains, poor visibility here and that rain will just continue through the morning as it
01:16pushes towards southern parts of Scotland moving in across the Midlands, central southern England.
01:21It's mostly showery but the rain could pep up around lunchtime across northern England as we
01:26see more rain just clip Northern Ireland as we head through the afternoon western Scotland,
01:31hanging on to some hazy sunshine towards the northeast of Scotland but it remains rather
01:36murky across the west as well as the south as we head through the afternoon. Even so, not a lot of
01:41rain across eastern counties here, temperatures around 22-23, fresher towards the north and the
01:47west of Scotland, 20 for Belfast, 22 for Cardiff. Now through this evening the rain could become
01:54more intense and a bit more persistent across the central and southern swathes of Scotland,
01:59still rather murky across Northern Ireland, you can see here lots of low clouds and some patchy
02:04rain across England and Wales. We've lost the persistent rain though, it's clearing towards
02:08the North Sea, a bit of a breeze still across the southwest as well as the west. So through Thursday
02:14evening and overnight this massive cloud and outbreaks of rain continue their its passage
02:21eastwards and northwards. So yes, you will see some wet weather overnight across Scotland as the
02:26wind picks up some strength and it's murky and humid across England and Wales with that low
02:31clouds and patchy rain but notice that clearance coming in through the early hours of Friday
02:36morning. The wind then will pick up some strength across the north and the west of Scotland, clipping
02:41the far north of Northern Ireland with some showers here. We hang on to some dampness first
02:45thing towards the southeast but the sun will come out. So a brighter afternoon to come on Friday,
02:50breezy in the north with frequent showers and some drier skies further south and east with some
02:55sunshine. Temperatures on the up here, 21 to 25 degrees Celsius. You'll outlook then through
03:00Saturday, yes there will be a few showers in the mix across the north and the west but still the
03:05clouds will be broken with some sunshine and temperatures 21 to 25 degrees Celsius, turning
03:10very warm on Sunday from the south and again with some sunny spells coming through although we could
03:15see some clouds and also some outbreaks around across the far north and northwest. More details
03:20on your 10-day trend this week with Annie Shutterworth. See you later.
