00:14The details are in the report of Rod Lagusan.
00:18To ensure the safety of tourists while on vacation in the country,
00:23especially when it comes to unexpected events or emergency situations,
00:28and to be able to respond immediately when needed,
00:31the Department of Tourism will build tourist first aid facilities
00:35under the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority or TESA
00:39at the Department of Health in the country's main tourist destinations.
00:42This includes Boracay, La Union, Palawan, Panglao, Puerto Galera, and Siargao,
00:48which were recognized by the travel magazine Lonely Planet
00:51as the number one best places to visit in Southeast Asia.
00:54It conveys to the world that tourist safety is our priority here in the Philippines,
01:00where we ensure that as our tourists enjoy our island destinations,
01:05we are also taking care of them should they encounter any illnesses, emergencies, or accidents.
01:12And we will provide the personnel.
01:13So bali, ang tie-up is TESA is building the facility.
01:17We will be providing the human resources for help, the doctors and the nurses.
01:23It's easily two or three personnel.
01:25One doctor, one nurse, and probably another assistant to the two of them.
01:41So this is the key in emergency, yung immediate action.
01:45Yung usually, yung delay in most of our stories, horror stories of tourists.
01:53The aim of the Tourist First Aid Facility is to be able to provide
02:21the right type of care required of the destination.
02:25That is why we're tapping the expertise of the Department of Health.
02:29The effort is to have an efficient, timely, and effective first response to tourist emergencies
02:39and to be able to handle these emergencies.
02:52the first aid kit, defibrillator, stretcher, and to be a two-way communication system.
02:56According to Mr. Herbosa, he needs a climate-resilient facility,
03:01especially if it's near the coast.
03:03Because it can be affected by storm surge and strong winds.
