00:18Rod Nagusad with the report. Rise and shine, Rod.
00:24Experiential tourism.
00:26This is what President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. sees as the need to focus on the changes in the tourism industry.
00:34The President said in his third State of the Nation Address that a multi-faceted strategy is needed to address this.
00:42This is an imperative, and that we must elevate and expand our understanding of the one town, one product, or OTOP concept.
00:51It must not inhibit, but rather it must inspire.
00:56We must not rest content to have just one.
01:00Rather, we must seek the optimal number of high-quality products and services,
01:06which at the same time, showcase our community's distinctive history, traditions, and talents.
01:12The Department of Tourism continues its commitment to bring more benefits to the country.
01:19The agency first launched the Philippine Experience Program.
01:22The program aims to introduce the various tourism offerings of the country.
01:27This is where tourism is established in each region.
01:30Aside from the famous tourist destinations established by DOT in culture, heritage, and our recognition as Filipinos,
01:38and even in the expansion of the tourism portfolio of the country.
01:41Very much into the collaboration with the private sector.
01:47As far as ensuring that when our tourists come to the Philippines, they're able to enjoy the many other offerings of the country.
01:55And this includes our dive tourism, our golf tourism, and especially as well, halal tourism.
02:03It is also important for the sector to push the government to streamline or speed up the process of travel in the Philippines,
02:10such as paperless immigration and customs forms.
02:13Soon, the piloted e-gates will be standard fixtures at airports to further facilitate ease of mobility during departures and arrivals.
02:22And with all this said, the implementation of the Philippine e-visa will be next in our digital transformation agenda.
02:30Because of the directive of the Chief Executive, DOT expects more international arrivals.
02:36That is why it is not far from the Philippines to accompany its neighbors in ASEAN in the development of tourism.
02:42DOT also gave the importance of visitor receipts for tourism spending.
02:47What we're seeing is that the Philippines has already recovered over 100% of its visitor receipts from its 2019 numbers,
02:55and also exceeds the 94% global average of recovery as far as visitor receipts is concerned.
03:02From here, DOT sees that when the Department of Foreign Affairs implements the e-visa,
03:07with the help of the Bureau of Immigration and along with improvements to the borders,
03:11it will greatly help tourism in the Philippines.
