00:00Good morning. This is the latest. We are watching Baguio-Carina as of 5 a.m. this Thursday.
00:08So let's start with our latest satellite image.
00:12The center of Baguio-Carina had a landfall at 12 p.m. last night.
00:16And its current location is in Taiwan.
00:19Currently located as of 4 a.m. at 465 kilometers north of Itbayat, Batanes.
00:26This landfall caused by strong winds reaching 150 kilometers per hour near the center
00:33and landslides reaching 250 kilometers per hour.
00:37It continues to move north at a speed of 20 kilometers per hour.
00:42If we can see, a large part of Luzon is still possible to experience
00:47or we still hope that the rainy season will continue in a large part of Luzon,
00:53especially here in the western sections of northern and central Luzon,
00:57as well as in the western sections of Calabarzon and Mindoro provinces,
01:02as well as in NCR.
01:04So be careful to our countrymen, especially here in the northern part of Luzon area.
01:10This is our latest forecast track as of 5 a.m.
01:14Based on our latest forecast track, as we mentioned earlier,
01:18the center of Baguio-Carina is already in Taiwan.
01:21But as we can see, although the center is in Taiwan,
01:24the strong winds carrying Baguio-Carina are still strong.
01:28So some parts of the extreme northern Luzon are still affected by the strong winds
01:33carrying Baguio-Carina.
01:36Over the next few days, or if possible for the next few hours,
01:39it will slowly move away in the direction northwestward.
01:43It is possible that this morning, it will leave our Philippine area of responsibility
01:48and will move away to the Taiwan Strait
01:51and a possible landfall again in the southern portion of Taiwan
01:55and it will slowly weaken in the next few days.
01:59And we can see that it is possible that as it weakens,
02:05it will also weaken here in Habagat.
02:08So over the next few days, it is possible that the rains will also weaken
02:12or areas affected by the rains will be affected by the effects of Habagat.
02:18As we mentioned earlier, because the radius of Baguio-Carina is still wide,
02:24even though its center is in Taiwan,
02:26the Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 is still high here in Batanes
02:30because of the wide radius of the storm.
02:33So we still hope that the strong winds carrying Baguio-Carina
02:37will reach the area of Batanes.
02:40When it comes to the rains,
02:42these are the latest heavy rainfall warnings from Northern Luzon PRSD
02:47and also from NCR PRSD as of 5 a.m.
02:51We still have red rainfall warnings here in Ilocos Sur, Benguet, La Union,
02:58Pangasinan, and Ilocos Norte.
03:00Orange is still high in the western portion of Abra, Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, and Tarlac.
03:08And yellow warning for the eastern portion of Abra, Metro Manila,
03:13and Nueva Ecija and Bulacan.
03:15So to our countrymen in the mentioned areas
03:18or areas where heavy rainfall warnings are high,
03:21we hope that at the very least for the next three hours,
03:24the moderate to severe rains will continue,
03:27especially in areas where red rainfall warnings are high.
03:31So we hope that there will be higher chances of floods,
03:35especially in low-lying areas.
03:37Our countrymen are preparing and being careful.
03:41Meanwhile, based on our latest weather advisory at 11 p.m. last night,
03:46we still expect the possibility of heavy rains,
03:50especially in the northern and central Luzon area.
03:57So moderate or heavy to intense rains are still expected today in Zambales,
04:02La Union, Pangasinan, and Benguet.
04:04Meanwhile, moderate to heavy in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Pampanga, Cavite, Batanes,
04:11Babuyan Islands, which is a part of the Ilocos region,
04:14Abra, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro.
04:17And if we notice over this coming weekend,
04:21areas that will experience heavy rainfall will gradually decrease.
04:28So moderate to heavy rains are still possible.
04:31It is still possible in Zambales, Bataan, Pangasinan, and Benguet tomorrow.
04:36When the weekend comes, or on the coming Saturday,
04:39Zambales and Bataan, moderate to heavy rains are still possible.
04:45Floods or landslides are still possible,
04:49especially in the affected areas,
04:54so as much as possible, our countrymen are preparing and being careful.
04:59When it comes to landslides caused by heavy winds,
05:04there are still large areas of Luzon,
05:07as well as in the western sections of Visayas,
05:10where we still expect landslides from now until tomorrow.
05:14Meanwhile, when it comes to Saturday,
05:16it is mostly areas of northern Luzon,
05:19here in the western sections of Central Luzon,
05:23as well as in the western sections of Mimaropa.
05:27Those are the areas that will still experience,
05:29or are possible to experience,
05:31strong winds brought by the southwest monsoon.
05:36In terms of our ocean,
05:38we have a gale warning due to the effect of the southwest monsoon.
05:42It is possible to have 4.5 meters high waves in areas,
05:48or in the villages of Batanes,
05:51in the northern coast of Cagayan,
05:53along with Babuyan Islands,
05:55as well as in the western sections,
05:58or western seaboards of northern Luzon,
06:01in Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur.
06:03That is why it is dangerous to sail there,
06:05especially if there are small sea vehicles in the so-called villages.
06:09Meanwhile, moderate to rough seas,
06:11or moderate to high seas,
06:13are possible here in the western section of Luzon,
06:17and also in the eastern section of northern Luzon.
06:20Meanwhile, in the eastern section of the country,
06:23it is mostly moderate or moderate to rough seas.
06:27Be careful with the plans to sail.
06:29It is dangerous to sail in moderate to rough seas.
06:34That is the latest from the ASA Weather Forecasting Center.
06:38I am Rhea Torres. Good morning.
06:40Take care, everyone.
