00:00Good morning, I am Benison Estareja, and we have an update regarding our monitoring of the Severe Tropical Storm Enteng

00:07with international name Yagi, this morning at 5 AM on Wednesday.

00:14The Philippine Area of Responsibility has already released this storm Enteng,

00:18and it was last seen around 265 kilometers west-northwest of Ilocos City,

00:23of Ilocos Norte this morning at 4 AM.

00:27It is getting stronger now, from 95 kilometers per hour last night,

00:31it has become 100 kilometers per hour of strong wind near its center,

00:36and it has gustiness up to 125 kilometers per hour.

00:39And for now, it is moving slowly west-northwest,

00:43far from our land, it is still in the West Philippine Sea for now.

00:47But we still expect the effect of Southwest Monsoon or Habagat,

00:51that it is being enhanced or enhanced by this storm Enteng,

00:55and knowing that it is slow for now, and getting stronger,

00:58the sometimes heavy rain will still continue in the western sections of Luzon,

01:03including Metro Manila.

01:06For now, as of 5 in the morning, we have a heavy rainfall warning that is high,

01:10orange warning here in Laloiga ng Bataan,

01:13so it means we have intense rain from 5 AM to 8 AM.

01:18While we have yellow warning or heavy rains,

01:21here in Zambales, Pampanga, Bulacan, and Metro Manila.

01:25So be careful of possible floods,

01:28and to those returning to school and work,

01:33make sure that we have raincoats like raincoats or raincoats.

01:38Meanwhile, based on our latest satellite animation,

01:40we will continue monitoring cloud clusters here in the east of Luzon,

01:45but for now, it is not possible for this to be a storm in the next 24 hours.

02:00here in the South China Sea and the southern portion of China,

02:09at around 200 to 300 kilometers away from Ilocos Norte.

02:14As long as the wind is not too strong, it will move away from our land,

02:18so there will be no direct effect,

02:19and the strongest wind brought by this storm Enteng is also offshore.

02:26That is why we have no tropical cyclone wind signals in any areas of northern Luzon.

02:33For now, even though this storm Enteng has already left the Philippine Area of Responsibility,

02:39strong rains will continue in the next 3 days,

02:43that is the effect of the southwest monsoon.

02:45Heavy to intense rains are expected, or 100 to 200 millimeters of rain,

02:51in 4 provinces, including Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro today and tomorrow.

02:59Meanwhile, we have moderate to heavy rains, or around 50 to 100 millimeters of rain today

03:06in Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Benguet.

03:10While today and tomorrow, moderate to heavy rains are still possible

03:15here in the areas of Central Southern Luzon,

03:18including Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Metro Manila,

03:24as well as Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, Laguna, and the northern part of Palawan,

03:30including Calamian, Cuyo, and Cagayancillo Islands.

03:34So these are the areas where we will most likely still experience heavy rainfall warnings

03:38and rainfall advisories in the next 2 days.

03:43Meanwhile, as of Friday, September 6,

03:46even though Baguio-Enteng is already far from our land,

03:49the effects of the monsoon will still continue on the western side of Luzon,

03:55including Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro,

03:58but more on moderate to heavy rains only.

04:01To those who are asking, compared to yesterday, what will be our rains for today?

04:07For example, here in Metro Manila,

04:09yesterday's rainfall is almost equivalent to today's rainfall.

04:13The nature of our rains is not continuous with strong rains.

04:17Heavy rains will continue,

04:19and light to moderate rains will continue throughout the day,

04:22and the weather will still be gloomy.

04:24Metro Manila and the nearby areas of Central Luzon and Calabarzon.

04:30In the remaining part of our country,

04:32there are still scattered rains and thunderstorms

04:42parts of Bicol Region, Quezon, and Aurora.

04:51or partly cloudy,

04:53until sometimes the sky is cloudy,

04:55which is only accompanied by heavy rains

04:57and localized thunderstorms that last for 1 to 2 days.

05:02This will continue for the next 3 days.

05:06Meanwhile, severe winds will be more evident

05:10and we will feel it today,

05:12because of the heavy rains and thunderstorms.

05:16We have gusty conditions today and tomorrow

05:19in Ilocos Region, Abra, Benguet, Isabela, Aurora,

05:24Zambales and Bataan,

05:26Bulacan, Metro Manila, Calabarzon,

05:29the whole of Mimaropa, Bicol Region,

05:32Western Visayas, Negros Provinces, and Northern Samar.

05:40We will continue to remind our countrymen

05:43that in the next 2 days,

05:46be careful of possible floods,

05:48especially in low-lying areas.

05:50There are also areas that are not flooded often

05:52that will also be flooded,

05:54knowing that we had heavy rains in the past few days.

05:56There is a high chance that we will have floods

05:59in our small river systems.

06:02We will always monitor because it is possible

06:04that upstream in the mountains,

07:06as well as the northern coast of Cagayan,

07:08along Babuyan Islands,

07:10Pababa ng Zambales, Bataan, and Lubang Islands.

07:12If we have a gale warning,

07:14most likely suspended

07:16sea travel for small sea vessels

07:18and be careful

07:20not to spread our countrymen

07:22who have large sea vehicles.

07:24And in other areas,

07:26we will not have any problems

07:28in terms of sea travel.

08:50there is a low chance that it will landfall.

08:52But again, it is possible that it will rain

08:54especially here in the western sections

08:56of Luzon, Visayas,

08:58and Bindanao.
