00:00Good morning, I am Benison Estareja and we have another update regarding Tropical Storm Enteng with international name Yagi as of 5 in the morning, Tuesday.
00:14As of 4 in the morning, Tropical Storm Enteng is in the center of the coastal waters of Pauay in Ilocos Norte.
00:23It has a wind speed of 75 kmph near the center and has a force up to 125 kmph.
00:30And it is still moving at a speed of 25 kmph.
00:36It is noteworthy that Tropical Storm Enteng has weakened as it passed through the areas of Cagayan Valley and Cordillera Region.
00:48But when it comes to the West Philippine Sea, later in the morning, Tropical Storm Enteng is likely to increase again.
00:55Based on our latest satellite animation, the chances of rain are still high.
01:00The red and orange colors are still associated with the western section of Luzon and Visayas,
01:06to the southwest of Monsun, Urjabagat, where Tropical Storm Enteng is still a part of.
01:12It is also noteworthy that the cloud clusters or clusters of clouds in the east of Luzon extend out of our area of responsibility.
01:21And it is possible that there is still a low pressure area or a weak storm within 2 to 3 days.
01:27That is why we will continue to monitor.
01:29For now, we also have a high heavy rainfall warning.
01:33As of 5 in the morning, we have an orange warning in Metro Manila, Zambales, and Bataan.
01:39So it means intense rains or heavy rains that will be experienced in the areas we have mentioned.
01:46We also have a yellow warning in the areas of Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, and Cavite.
01:53So it means heavy rains and possible floods, especially in low-lying areas.
01:59That is why heavy rainfall warnings are still possible in our next bulletins.
02:06This is our latest track of rainfall regarding Tropical Storm Enteng.
02:10As of 2 in the morning, it is still in the area of Apayaw and Calinga.
02:14And it is expected to pass through the areas of Ilocos Region.
02:18As of 4 in the morning, it is already in Ilocos Norte.
02:20And it is expected to move to the West Philippine Sea by morning.
02:26By afternoon and evening, it is still possible for it to rise as a severe tropical storm
02:31because it is already in the ocean and it is slowly moving to the left or westward
02:36until it leaves our Philippine area of responsibility tomorrow early in the morning.
02:42It is possible for it to become a typhoon while it is in the area of the South China Sea
02:46and it will arrive here in Southern China in the following days.
02:50In terms of its winds or its effect,
02:53they will notice that the diameter or the total area of Tropical Storm Enteng is around 300 to 400 kilometers.
03:01And when it reaches the ocean, it is still possible for strong winds to hit the Cagayan Valley,
03:07Cordillera Region, and Ilocos Region of Tropical Storm Enteng.
03:14Our estimated location for tomorrow afternoon is around 110 kilometers
03:18west-northwest of Lawag City, Ilocos Norte, offshore.
03:22And when it arrives tomorrow early in the morning, it is still inside PAR.
03:262 a.m. at around 315 kilometers west of Calayan, Cagayan.
03:30And when it arrives tomorrow afternoon, it is already outside of our PAR
03:34at around 415 kilometers west of Cagayan.
03:39These are the areas that have tropical cyclone wind signals or are exposed to wind.
03:44This is still signal number 2 in Ilocos Norte, northern portion of Ilocos Sur, Apayao, Abra, Calinga,
03:51and the northern part of mainland Cagayan, including Babuyan Island.
03:55These are the experiences of gale force winds or strong winds in the following hours.
04:02We have tropical cyclone wind signal number 1 or strong winds in the remaining part of Ilocos Sur,
04:08northern portion of La Union, mountain province, Ifugao, northern portion of Benguet,
04:14Batanes, remaining part of Cagayan, including Babuyan Island, Isabela,
04:20northern portion of Nueva Vizcaya, and northern portion of Quirino.
04:24The other areas here in Aurora and other parts of northern Luzon
04:28are already exposed to tropical cyclone wind signals.
04:32We hope that as the storm moves to the left,
04:36the wind signals in some areas of northern Luzon will be lessened later this afternoon.
04:43When it comes to rain, we still hope for the strongest rain
04:47in the areas closest to the storm, including the Ilocos region,
04:51and due to the flood in Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro.
04:55And please take note, in areas like Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro,
04:59heavy to intense rains will continue, not just today, but until Thursday.
05:06So be careful of possible floods and landslides in your area.
05:11Meanwhile, we have moderate to heavy rains for today in areas of Cagayan Valley and Cordillera region.
05:17Direct effects of the storm while there are still heavy rains here in Nueva Ecija,
05:22Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Metro Manila, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, Laguna, and northern portion of Palawan.
05:31So it is still possible for us to raise heavy rainfall warnings in these areas
05:35in the next 24 hours.
05:37By tomorrow, those areas will also have moderate to heavy rains,
05:4350 to 100 millimeters over the entire Ilocos region,
05:47as well as Benguet, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Metro Manila, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, Laguna, and northern Palawan.
05:58By Thursday, those areas will have moderate to heavy rains,
06:03including Pangasinan, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, and Metro Manila.
06:10Also, the entire Calabarzon and northern portion of Palawan.
06:14So be careful of possible floods and landslides.
06:17And if you will leave your house, make sure that you have an umbrella,
06:20not only in case of rain, but also in case of floods.
06:24And because of the Southwest Monsoon, which will continue for the next few days,
06:29we will also have gusty conditions or sometimes strong winds
06:33that will not come from Baguio-Enteng, but from Habaga.
06:38So the conditions over Ilocos region for today,
06:40as well as Nueva Ecija, Querino, Aurora, Zambales, Bataan, Bulacan, Metro Manila, Calabarzon,
06:48the entire Mimaropa, the entire Bicol region, Western Visayas, Negros Island region, and Northern Samar.
06:55By tomorrow, there will still be gusty winds in the Ilocos region,
06:59Abra, Benguet, Aurora, Zambales, Bataan, Bulacan, Metro Manila,
07:05as well as in Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol region, Western Visayas, and Northern Samar.
07:12That is why I would like to continue reminding our countrymen
07:15to always be careful of possible floods in low-lying areas.
07:19Make sure that we are also monitoring our water levels in the rivers
07:23because it is also possible for floods to occur, especially if heavy rains continue
07:27in the mountains that will suddenly descend in our downstream areas.
07:31It is also possible for landslides, especially in mountainous areas in the Cordillera region
07:37and some areas here in Cagayan Valley and Calabarzon.
07:42And in terms of our waves in our coastal waters,
07:46we still have gale warning in the high waves
07:49here in the Northern and Central Zones,
07:52in the Baybayin, Batanes, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union,
07:57Cagayan, Baboyan Islands, Isabela, and Aurora.
08:02We have already removed the gale warning in Quezon and Camarines Norte.
08:06The waves will be up to 4.5 meters today.
08:09In these areas, it is equivalent to one-half of Gusali.
08:13It is dangerous for small sea vessels.
08:15If there is a wind signal, it is automatically suspended for all types of sea vessels.
08:19But if there is a gale warning and there are no wind signals,
08:22small sea vessels are prohibited from sailing.
08:26And the storm surge, which is one to two meters, is still possible here in the North,
08:33including the Baybayin, here in Cagayan, Isabela, Ilocos Norte, and Ilocos Sur.
08:41And that is the latest from the Weather Forecasting Center of Pagasa.
