00:00Good morning to all of you and live from the Assawina Forecasting Center.
00:05This is the time now, September 9, 2024.
00:10A new week has started for all of us.
00:14And we can see that the Southwest Monsoon is still affecting a large part of Luzon
00:19that will bring rains, especially in the Ilocos Region, Cordillera,
00:24as well as in the Cagayan Valley Region.
00:27Meanwhile, we will continue to monitor the low-pressure area
00:31that we last saw, more than 1,000 kilometers,
00:33East-North-East Extreme Northern Luzon.
00:36Based on our latest data,
00:38we do not rule out the possibility that this will become a storm.
00:41While it is moving, it will cause flooding.
00:43And for now, the chance that it will hit our country's land is quite low.
00:47But we will continue to monitor this low-pressure area
00:51that is inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
00:55In 10 parts of our country, here in 10 parts of Luzon,
00:58including Manila, we are expecting a cloudy weather.
01:01While in Visayas, Mindanao, and Palawan,
01:06we are expecting generally fair weather in this area of our country.
01:10But it is still possible for isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.
01:14Again, I repeat, here in a part of Northern Luzon,
01:17there is a high chance of rainfalls of the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat.
01:22Meanwhile, as you can see, we still have a low-pressure area
01:25that is outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
01:27It is almost 3,000 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas.
01:31And as we can see, it is possible that this will become a storm
01:34even though we do not rule out the possibility that it will enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
01:38Again, based on our latest data,
01:41it will move to the north of Canluran.
01:43And it is possible that Habagat will be strong at the end of this week,
01:47on Wednesday or Friday.
01:49It is possible that it will rain in the area of Visayas and Mindanao.
01:53Again, we will provide an update on the weather systems that we are monitoring here in our country.
02:00Again, here in a part of Luzon, we are expecting a high chance of rainfalls.
02:05From the middle to the beginning, there will be heavy rainfall in the area,
02:09especially in the Ilocos Region,
02:11particularly in the provinces of Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur.
02:15Also, in the area of Abra, Apaya, and a part of Cordillera and Cagayan Valley.
02:20Beware of the possibility of sudden floods and landslides.
02:25Here in a part of Luzon, it is still possible for isolated or heavy rainfall.
02:31Generally, in the area of Metro Manila, Calabarzon, and Mimaropa,
02:35we expect that the weather will be cloudy
02:38while there is a chance of rain in the afternoon and evening.
02:41We are expecting that in the next few days,
02:44there will be less rainfall in the area of Northern Luzon,
02:48especially in the Ilocos Region.
