00:00Good morning to all of you from the Pag-asa Weather Forecasting Center.

00:05The time is now here.

00:07Today is Monday, July 29, 2024, the opening of classes here in our country.

00:14In our latest satellite images, we can see the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat

00:19which continues to affect the northern part of Luzon.

00:23You can see that the sky is still a bit cloudy,

00:25especially in some parts of the Ilocos region and some parts of Central Luzon,

00:29the area of Bataan and Zambales,

00:31where there is still a high chance of rain on this day.

00:34Meanwhile, we will continue to monitor the low-pressure area

00:38of our final destination, 220 kilometers northeast of Apari, in the province of Cagayan.

00:46For now, based on our latest data,

00:48it is a bit difficult for this low-pressure area to become a storm

00:52because it is in an environment that is not conducive to develop into a tropical depression.

00:58But we will continue to monitor this low-pressure area for the next few hours.

01:05Meanwhile, in other parts of our country, on the eastern side of Luzon,

01:09in Cabizayan and Mindanao,

01:11we will experience isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.

01:14So to our countrymen, especially to parents, teachers, and students,

01:21we still expect rain showers in the afternoon and evening.

01:24Meanwhile, in the afternoon, there is a chance of hot weather,

01:27especially in some parts of Cabizayan and Mindanao.

01:31For now, aside from the low-pressure area that we are monitoring,

01:34we have not seen any other low-pressure areas or storms inside and outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

01:40Meanwhile, for the next few days, we expect the southwest monsoon to weaken,

01:44so it is possible that there will be only thunderstorms for the next few days,

01:49up until the evening.

01:51And this is what we expect for the time being in this part of Luzon.

01:54We expect that the area of the western section of Luzon will still experience a higher chance of rain showers.

02:02This is the tip of the southwest monsoon or low,

02:06particularly the area of Ilocos Region, Bataan, Zambales,

02:10and possibly the area of Cordillera, particularly in Abra and Benguet in Baguio.

02:17In the northern part of Luzon, we expect isolated showers,

02:22while there is a high chance of hot weather in the afternoon,

02:26especially in the eastern part of Luzon.

02:29The temperature inside is 24 to 32 degrees Celsius.

02:32In Tugagaraw, it will reach 33 degrees Celsius.

02:35In Baguio, 70 to 22 degrees Celsius.

02:37In Metro Manila, 24 to 32 degrees Celsius.

02:40In Tagaytay, 24 to 31 degrees Celsius.

02:43While in Legazpi, 24 to 32 degrees Celsius.

02:47Here we are in Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao.

02:50In the area of Palawan, we also expect isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.

02:55The temperature in Kalayaan Islands is 25 to 31 degrees Celsius.

02:59In Puerto Princesa, 25 to 31 degrees Celsius.

03:03The majority of Visayas will experience generally fair weather,

03:07but there is still a chance of isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.

03:11The water temperature in Iloilo is 26 to 32 degrees Celsius.

03:15In Cebu, 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.

03:18While in Tacloban, it is 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.

03:22During rainy season, the majority of Visayas and Mindanao will experience localised thunderstorms.

03:29In the area of Visayas and Mindanao, the southwest monsoon does not affect much,

03:34mostly in the Luzon area only.

03:36The water temperature in Zamboanga is 25 to 33 degrees Celsius.

03:40In Cagandeoro, 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.

03:42While in Dabao, it is 33 degrees Celsius.

03:46At present, we still do not have high gale warnings in any part of our country.

03:53But we are still aware of the possibility of strong gales and thunderstorms.

04:00But generally, we are aware of the possibility of large and small boats

04:04crossing our country.

04:07Meanwhile, the sun will rise later at 5.30 in the morning and set at 6.26 in the evening.

04:12And we are still following our various social media platforms

04:15on X, Facebook, YouTube, and our website pagasa.doc.gov.ph.

04:19We are hoping that the classes will be opened today.

04:23It is still possible that it will rain in the afternoon and evening.

04:26That is why it is better to bring raincoats.
