00:00Happy Friday to all of us. I am Benison Estareja.
00:04The low tide or southwest monsoon is still raging here in the western sections of Luzon and Visayas.
00:11We can only hope that the rains and storms will stop in the remaining parts of our country.
00:17We have cloud clusters that are being monitored here in the West Philippine Sea
00:21and even here outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, outside our area of responsibility in the east of Mindanao.
00:29We are not taking away the chance that this will be a low-pressure area within 24 hours and our TAR will also enter.
00:36And it is possible that on the first days of September, it will still bring rains to a large part of our country,
00:43especially in southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
00:48Today, we still expect rains in the western sections of Luzon, including Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro
00:55because of the southwest monsoon or low tide.
00:58Expect light to moderate, with at times, heavy rains and dark weather in these areas.
01:04Still be careful of possible floods and landslides.
01:08In the remaining parts of Luzon, expect parts to be cloudy.
01:11Sometimes, there are cloudy skies and there are areas this morning that are sunny.
01:16While here in the Ibicol Region, before noon, it is possible for there to be heavy rains or landslides.
01:22While in the remaining parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila,
01:25it is also possible for isolated rain showers or thunderstorms to last for 2 to 3 hours.
01:32In Metro Manila, the temperature is between 26 to 32 degrees Celsius.
01:36Likewise, in parts of Lawag and Legazpi, it is possible for it to be up to 32 degrees Celsius.
01:41While in Tuguegarao and Cagayan, it is possible for it to be up to 35 degrees Celsius air temperature.
01:47To our fellow countrymen in Palawan, it is still possible for heavy rain showers and landslides.
01:52Sometimes, it becomes stronger, especially in the afternoon.
01:55This is the effect of the southwest monsoon.
01:58While here in a large part of Visayas, it is possible for it to be cloudy.
02:01Often, the skies are cloudy here in the northern portion, in Panay Island and Samar Provinces.
02:07There are only occasional rains and landslides in a large part of Visayas,
02:12when it reaches afternoon and evening.
02:15The temperature in Metro Cebu is between 27 to 32 degrees Celsius.
02:20Lastly, to our fellow countrymen in Mindanao,
02:22it is also possible for the skies to be cloudy from morning to afternoon.
02:26While it reaches afternoon to evening,
02:28there are areas where there will be heavy rain showers or localized thunderstorms
02:33that will last for 1 to 2 hours.
02:37The temperature in Metro Davao and Zamboanga City is between 33 to 35 degrees Celsius.
02:45For the next four days,
02:49it is possible for cloud clusters to enter our area of responsibility
02:56and become a low-pressure area.
02:58When it enters the PAR,
03:00it is possible for it to move in the direction of northern Caluran
03:02while it is here in the Caragatan, the Philippine Sea,
03:04and it will remain far from our land.
03:07The effect of the trough or the extension that we mentioned,
03:11the weather disturbance,
03:13plus it is also possible for it to have an influence
03:15on the spread of Southwest Monsoon or Habagat
03:17here in the areas on the other side of our country.
03:20By tomorrow, on Saturday,
03:22it is possible for there to be rains here on the eastern side
03:25because of the trough, especially in the afternoon,
03:27in the Samar Provinces, Caraga Region,
03:30and areas in the Davao Region,
03:32especially in Davao Oriental and Davao de Oro.
03:34So be careful of the rains there.
03:36It is possible for there to be floods and landslides
03:39while the Southwest Monsoon will still remain weak
03:42and it will bring rains in Palawan
03:44and parts of the Zamboanga Peninsula,
03:46Bangsamoro Region, and Sok Sa Djen,
03:48especially tomorrow afternoon until the evening.
03:51Then, when the first days of September arrive,
03:54that's Sunday until Tuesday,
03:56there will be more places where there will be rains.
03:59This is the effect of the Southwest Monsoon
04:02plus the effect of the low-pressure area
04:04as it slowly moves up to the eastern portions
04:07of Bicol Region and eastern Visayas.
04:10So there are areas like here in Mimaropa,
04:13Bicol Region, a large part of Visayas,
04:16Zamboanga Peninsula, northern Mindanao,
04:18and Caraga Region where there will be rains
04:20from Sunday until Tuesday.
04:23So sometimes, there will be heavy rains
04:25so be careful of possible floods and landslides.
04:28And always stay tuned for our updates
04:30because it's possible for us to raise
04:32heavy rainfall warnings and rainfall advisories.
04:35When Monday to Tuesday arrives,
04:37there is a high chance of rain
04:39here in Calabar Zone and in Metro Manila
04:42and in parts of Central Luzon,
04:44especially in Mezambales and Bataan.
04:46There is also an effect of the LPA trough
04:48or weather disturbance plus the Southwest Monsoon.
04:52So bring an umbrella if you're going out of the house
04:55and be careful of possible floods
04:57and landslides.
04:58And always coordinate with your local government units
05:01for possible evacuations
05:03if there will be heavy rains
05:05and there is a high chance of floods and landslides.
05:09Our sunrises are still at 5.44am
05:12and our south sunset at 6.09pm is part of the early hours.
05:16That's the latest from the Weather Forecasting Center of Pagasa.
05:19I'm Benison Escareja.
05:21Take care.
