00:00Good morning from the weather forecasting center.
00:03This is our update on the weather for the next 24 hours.
00:08We can see here in our latest satellite images,
00:12these thick clouds that are continuously affecting the part of Mindanao.
00:17The continuous effect of this Intertropical Convergence Zone or ITCZ.
00:22This is the flow of air from the Northern and Southern Hemisphere.
00:26Because of the ITCZ, we expect a high chance of rain today
00:31here in the Southern and Western portions of Mindanao.
00:34Remember, this is the part of Palawan.
00:36In Metro Manila and in the rest of the country,
00:39we will experience light weather.
00:43This will only be accompanied by isolated rain showers or localized thunderstorms.
00:47Especially here in the Eastern section of Luzon
00:50because of the easterly winds from the Pacific Ocean.
00:56We will continue to monitor this low-pressure area
00:59outside our Philippine Area of Responsibility.
01:02Our latest location at 3 a.m.
01:05is at a distance of 1,455 kilometers east of Southeastern Luzon.
01:11We are seeing a medium chance scenario for this low-pressure area.
01:15This means that this could be a typhoon
01:18within the next 24 to 48 hours.
01:21But we do not expect or low chance
01:24of tropical cyclone development within the next 24 hours.
01:30As for the weather conditions here in Luzon,
01:34a large portion of Luzon, including Metro Manila,
01:37will continue to experience light weather.
01:41But this easterly wind from the Pacific Ocean
01:45could bring isolated thunderstorms
01:49here in the Eastern section of our country.
01:52Particularly in the areas of Cagayan Valley,
01:55Isabela, Quezon, and some parts of Bicol Region.
02:00Let's be prepared for the chances of thunderstorms here in Metro Manila
02:04especially in the late afternoon to evening.
02:07Generally, we are expecting fair weather conditions.
02:11The maximum temperature outside today
02:14is possible to reach 32 degrees Celsius.
02:1732 degrees Celsius in the area of Taguigarao
02:19and 24 degrees Celsius in Baguio City.
02:22Maximum temperature forecast for Metro Manila
02:25is possible to reach 32 degrees Celsius.
02:2833 degrees Celsius in the area of Legazpi
02:31and 31 degrees Celsius in Tagaytay.
02:35As for Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao,
02:39the southern and western sections of Mindanao,
02:42as well as Palawan, particularly in the areas of Zamboanga Peninsula,
02:47Barms, Oxargen, and Davao Occidental,
02:50we are expecting high chances of widespread thunderstorms today.
02:53This is still followed by the Intertropical Convergence Zone or ITCZ.
02:57So let's continue to be prepared
02:59and alert to the signs of heavy rainfall and landslides
03:02especially if the rain continues.
03:04For Visayas and the rest of Mindanao,
03:07we will also experience generally fair weather conditions throughout the day.
03:11Let's be prepared for the chances of localized thunderstorms
03:14especially from afternoon to night.
03:17Maximum temperature forecast for Klayaan Islands
03:20is possible to reach 32 degrees Celsius.
03:2332 degrees Celsius in the area of Puerto Princesa
03:26and 32 degrees Celsius in the areas of Iloilo, Cebu, and Tacloban.
03:33Maximum temperature forecast for Cagayan de Oro
03:36is possible to reach 32 degrees Celsius.
03:3933 degrees Celsius in the area of Davao
03:41and 32 degrees Celsius in the areas of Zamboanga.
03:46In our current weather conditions,
03:48there are no high-level gale warnings
03:50for any possible landslides
03:52and it is expected that there will be moderate to moderate thunderstorms
03:55in a large part of our country.
03:57However, thunderstorms or offshore thunderstorms are still possible.
04:03We can expect strong winds
04:05if there are offshore thunderstorms
04:07and it will affect the elevation of our islands.
04:11So, be careful to our fellow fishermen.
04:15For our 3-day weather outlook in a large part of our country,
04:21the low-pressure area that we are monitoring outside the PAR
04:24is expected to be able to enter our area of responsibility within the day.
04:29The scenario that we are seeing for this time of year
04:32is that the chance of tropical cyclone development is increasing.
04:35So, our scenario is that there is a medium chance of thunderstorms.
04:39We expect that there will be thunderstorms within the next 24 to 48 hours
04:44and this time period is possibly by late Sunday to early next week.
04:49So, for now, this is still far from our country.
04:51But for the next few days,
04:53we expect that because of its proximity to our land,
04:57it is possible for rain to fall in some areas of the Luzon,
05:01particularly in parts of Cagayan Valley, Aurora,
05:04a large part of Southern Luzon, and Visayas.
05:07Here in the area of Palawan and Mindanao,
05:09because of the ITCZ or Intertropical Convergence Zone,
05:12there is a high chance of thunderstorms in the mentioned areas.
05:17So, for a large part of our country,
05:19for the next few days, we expect rain to fall
05:24because of the ITCZ and the possible thunderstorms that we are forecasting.
05:29So, stay tuned for future updates
05:32that are coming out of Pag-asa about our weather
05:36and also here in our low-pressure area of Minumonitor
05:39outside of our Philippine area of responsibility.
05:43The sunny day here in Manila will be popular later at 5.48 in the morning
05:48and it will be cloudy later at 5.34 in the afternoon.
