00:00It is now time, of course, for the lion's share, brought to you by BetMGM, as we get
00:09ready for the all-star game tonight in Arlington, Texas.
00:14We've gone through all the numbers of the game, me and you both like the over, et cetera,
00:18but you know I got to have a couple of player props for tonight, because we've been so on
00:25fire we've got to try to keep things going.
00:27Now, I'm going to start here, and this is for you, of course, and that is Paul Skeens
00:32on the mound in the first inning tonight for the lion's share.
00:36Now, Gabe was talking earlier about striking out the side at 5-1, sure, maybe, it's possible.
00:42I'm going to play it a little more conservative, two strikeouts for Skeens tonight.
00:47That is plus 135, two plus strikeouts for him.
00:50We believe he's only going to pitch the first inning, and here's what I've noticed, Scotty,
00:54watching Skeens the last few times out.
00:57When he's facing a team or guys for the first time, they got big problems with him, and
01:04none of these guys have seen Skeens in the box, stood there against him, and I think
01:09that's clearly an advantage to him to pitcher.
01:11I think we can get at least two strikeouts from him in that first inning, plus 135.
01:15Yeah, the other thing about him is, and I know the expectations are enormous for him
01:20tonight to strike everyone out, and there's going to be a tremendous amount of nerves
01:25for him going out there as the opener in the All-Star game and pitching that first inning,
01:31so I think the stress of it could be a problem, but here's the deal.
01:36This guy comes out in games, like the other day in Milwaukee when he had a no-hitter through
01:41seven full innings and 11 strikeouts, the guy struck out seven guys in the first three
01:49innings.
01:50He comes out mowing guys down from the jump in every game he pitches.
01:56He just comes right out and starts firing away, and all of his pitches work.
02:01It's not like he's all over the place.
02:03He finds the plate.
02:05He knows how to make them all work and dance, so having two strikeouts, and I think your
02:12edge of these guys have never seen him, a huge disadvantage for them, I won't deny they're
02:18all really good hitters, but I cannot wait to see what he does.
02:21I'll take that bet, two-plus strikeouts at $1.35.
02:25I like that.
02:26All right, you know that I love taters on the lion's share on C2C.
02:31Every day we run the taters here.
02:33Now here's my problem for tonight, Scotty.
02:36It's hard to bet taters in the All-Star game because you don't know how many at-bats these
02:41guys are going to get.
02:43So I'm just going to go with the proven, known commodities, the guys that love rising
02:49to the big stage, and the guys that I know are going to get at least two, maybe three
02:54at-bats because they're out there at the start of the game.
02:58We're going with the two biggest names with the long ball.
03:00First, Otani on the National League side, plus $4.50.
03:04That will be my pick there.
03:06Loves the big moment.
03:07Let's get one from Shohei tonight.
03:10Listen, I put nothing past this guy's ability to launch shots.
03:17That's it.
03:18He just comes up, and he sees it, and he drives it into the seats.
03:22I have no problem at all with that bet either.
03:25That is, I think, money, and the price is absurd to me that they're going to give away
03:29that much money with that dangerous guy walking up to the plate and taking swings.
03:34Christ, I can't imagine what your next play is.
03:37Those numbers are phenomenal if he hits one.
03:40Look, I'm going with the proven commodity on the NL side, and I'm going to go with the
03:44proven commodity on the AL side.
03:47That's Aaron Judge, 5-1 to Homer tonight in the All-Star game.
03:51He has homered in the All-Star game in the past.
03:54He did it in D.C. a couple years ago against Max Scherzer.
03:57Plus five bills tonight.
03:59The big guy's on the big stage.
04:01I don't want to get involved, Scotty, really, with anybody else.
04:04Otani and Judge are the Homer plays tonight.
04:07Those are the proven guys.
04:09Listen, if Judge blasts one off of my boy Skeens in the first inning, I'm going to have
04:16a long night.
04:17There's going to be a lot of tums eating, but I could see him teaching the young pup
04:23a lesson.
04:24Like I said, I've seen him give up home runs.
04:28He's so good that when you see him give up a home run, you're like, kind of, you take
04:33a step back.
04:34You're like, whoa, what was that?
04:36Well, it's what I said earlier.
04:38He throws 102 miles an hour, so if these are major league hitters, if they time it right
04:44and somehow see it coming out of his hand and they swing right, if they make contact
04:50with that ball, it flies out in a hurry.
04:53I mean, he throws heaters, and these guys all are major leaguers that can hit.
05:00I know that averages are down or 50-year high for batting averages, but when they
05:06connect, when they see it, major league hitters can launch shots into the seats.
05:12That's just all there is to it.
05:14All right, I'm going to play one more guy here, not for a Homer, though, just for a
05:17hit because I saw a plus money for him, and once again, a proven commodity, a guy who
05:21loves rising on the big stage like an all-star game, and that's Bryce Harper.
05:26Plus 105 to get a hit.
05:28He's going to have a couple of bats minimum.
05:31I'll take my shot with Bryce tonight, Scotty.
05:33Let's go.
05:34Have a hit?
05:35How about he'll hit one out, so he'll hit one out versus Steele.
05:40He was my third guy because I kind of put him in that same known commodity big stage.
05:46I'd bet him for a Homer as well.
05:48I think he's around 550 or 6.
05:51If you wanted to play him for a Homer, I wouldn't go any further than that, but I'm definitely
05:55going to play the hit at plus 105.
05:57Bryce loves this thing.
05:58I think that's inevitable.
05:59Do you remember in the playoffs when every time the guy went to play, he hit a home run
06:03or a double for like the entire playoffs?
06:07Like this guy, he's a freak.
06:09I have told you, and you know it's true, I go down to the bank from New York multiple
06:16times to watch this guy have five at bats.
06:20I am willing to drive to Philly to see this guy play baseball.
06:24It's 90 minutes basically from New York City to Philly, and I've gone down there to watch
06:28just this guy play.
06:30No one else.
06:31I don't even look at anyone else.
06:32I'm like, let's get a beer.
06:34Let's get some ice cream.
06:35Let's get some popcorn.
06:36Let's get a hot dog because I'm just waiting for this guy to have his at bats.
06:39I don't care about anyone else.
06:40All right.
06:41I got two picks for you for MVP tonight that I'm going to take a shot with.
06:45Number one, these are usually very narrative based awards.
06:49The writers and all these guys that vote for it, they like good stories.
06:52Just been a better story than last night, Bobby Witt, putting on a show at the Home
06:56Run Derby.
06:57He doesn't end up winning it.
06:58He's from that area down there in Arlington, Texas, hometown boy going back there.
07:04If he gets a couple hits tonight, Scotty, and the AL wins 20 to one for Witt tonight,
07:09he's already on everyone's mind after last night.
07:12The other one I'll give you because we're running out of time is Trey Turner.
07:16Just because he has been smoking hot recently, and I could see him have a couple of hits
07:22tonight right out of the gate and he's starting.
07:25So those are my two that I'm going after.
07:26Yeah, I love those bats because, you know, when is the last time you did taters that
07:33I didn't say Trey Turner, give me Trey Turner tonight and he's been launching.
07:38And then as far as Bobby Witt, that's right.
07:41He's from there.
07:42He looked fantastic last night.
07:45If he's got anything left in the tank, I think that, you know, swinging five million home
07:51runs takes it out of them.
07:52So we'll see how all the Oscar with boom, how they all do the day after.
08:00It's not like playing a game and it's just the next day you go back out, play another
08:03game.
08:04I think that home run thing is a tree sap.
08:07It saps them.
